Volvos breaks are designed to be good when the brakes arent hot (normal driving) the Audis are designed to work when the brakes are hot (high performance driving)

Braking distance is dependent on weight of car and friction from tyre. The lighter the car the shorter the braking distance. The lighter and wider the tyres, even shorter braking distances.
The problem with high power braking is that when you hard brake, you have twice anxiety (make sure you don't hit the front obstacle, and pray for the vehicle behind you don't hit you)
This has almost nothing to do with the car manufacturer. Most of the performance comes form the mass of the car, the lighter the car, the less the breaking distance. It also depends on the tires, the size of the rotor, the break pads and the caliper and pump. Mind you, that they probably didn’t even get a adequate sample size for the results to be accurate.
Oh yeah, then confirmed with the factory that the car in question was *not* equipped with the auto-brake feature that they were trying to show off, like utter melons lol
All those cars have different weights and might have different break sizes. The Audi is a full size suv and the Volvo is more like a midsize. The tesla is also very heavy because it's electric.

@@lonewolf1300 yes I do a lot of testing on trucks and if well maintained the braking distance can actually be very close to the one of a regular vehicle. Depending on friction (road surface), having well maintained brake pads/discs and good tires actually gives really good stopping distance. I believe trucking companies should be held responsible to a certain degree of maintenance and having newer generation trucks (as brake system development goes so fast, a really old system would not be able to compete with a new one in stability and performance). We've even compared the stopping distance of a truck to a regular compact car and the difference (like I said if well maintained) was only like 2-3 meters from 50km/h. Obviously the difference increases with speed and if it's a slippery road, but you get the point.
