One of my favorites this year as well. More than I typically pay for a bottle, but this one was worth the splurge.
Calumet 16 is my favorite this year.
Definitely one of my favorites of the year so far. Love the old sweet oak and dark cherry pie on this one. The nose and finish really solidify this one as an amazing whiskey. Already gone through one bottle and bought a couple backups. Thanks for the great content! Cheers!
It was really good! Thanks for watching☺️
Great video and tasting notes! I have not come across a bottle but hope to soon.
Great review I just picked up a bottle and can't wait to try it.
Thanks for the taste test!!
David had a few pours upstairs before this video.
Fun stuff.
I just saw it at a lovely $120 and picked it up. I thought it had a good oak and cinnamon red hot on the neck pour. Looking forward to seeing what happens once it opens up. Hanks for another great video and Cheers!
I really enjoyed this bottle. And was lucky enough to find a second bottle. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
Cheers to you🥃 Thank you so much for watching!
Oddly enough, my cousin was in Georgia and I asked her to look for Sam houston and she found it and the Bardstown discovery at the same store. Boy was I glad she went!!! She's in North Carolina so I'll get them when she visits Connecticut and I drive from Mass.
I love when you give him total blinds. Always good to watch.
Thanks Brent! I love doing it as to see him give a very authentic review ☺️
I bought a backup 16 because it seemed like it would vanish. I can still find bottles (at least as of a week ago). I really like it and the 15. I’ve only ever seen Sam Houston once and it vanished immediately. It is also a great bottle.
Great bottles of bourbon. Thanks for sharing your tasting experience. Cheers.
Thank you☺️🥃
Want to try that Calumet 16 myself
Cal 16 is great! Drank a bottle already and need to pop another
I live the C16. The 15 was good, but 16 is great.
I just picked up a second bottle in Michigan this weekend. I like it better than the 15.
it is Bardstown... nice review
Catching up on old episodes. I picked up a bottle of Calumet 16 in December for $124. Still on the shelf at the local store at the same price. Thinking of getting a back up for that price.
Did you get it ? How did you like ? I just passed for $130
@@davidatac9738 I like it, but not getting a backup
I see Cal 15's all the time now around Northern Illinois .
We have thinking about reviewing this one. Is this your favorite out of the three. If this is comparable to a Sam Houston 15 then that makes us want to try this one. Good review...
I just got my bottle the other week got extremely lucky and only had to pay retail $158 , haven't opened it yet
Just picked one up today!
Awesome 👏
I’ve heard great things about Calumet 16. I have the 15 year and I enjoy it, but I cannot decide if the 16 is worth the $150 price tag seen here in NJ.
It is. It’s actually better than the sam houston 15 and the SH15 beat the calumet 15 for me last year. I did a review of the calumet 16 on my channel as well
Calumet 16 is delicious. I have found it 130 in NJ.
$150 is a lot. I struggle buying anything over $80 lol. Guess depending on your situation and where you’d like to spend the money. It’s a really good bottle. I’m curious to try the 15 yr and see which I like best. Thanks for watching!
@@bourbonbill I just subscribed to you☺️
@@Beyondwhiskeyrow thanks Jamie!
Awesome video
Thank you for always watching Alvin☺️
How did you get into it Jamie? My wife doesn’t like bourbon but I would love to get her into it haha
David never pressured me. I was curious and started tasting different things he’d have. First I hated it. Once I learned the “how” to drink it, it became an entire new world to me. Teach her how and let her warm up. You should try making her cocktails with bourbon.
I’m enjoying bottle #1 but generally trying to pump the breaks on my juice spending so haven’t bought a backup. Being discipline is NO FUN!
I want to know how Jaime trained her nose and pallet!?! She's on fire or keeping up with you, David!!! Go Jaime. I'm still trying to express myself but to no avail!!!
Thank you so much for the kind words. Honestly it just happened. The more I did it the better I got. I honestly don’t think really there is no wrong answer. It’s all about what your senses are telling you. Thank you so much for watching☺️
I'm able to get it here in California for $135
Goes to show how everyone has different tastes. I get no burnt taste at all. To me the 16 is like the best bourbon but everything is turned up to 11. Or better said turned up to 16 lol
Same😂. People’s taste are so different.
I got a caramel finish. I paid $140. I use it in my old fashioned
That’s an expensive Old Fashioned lol. Bet it taste amazing
Nice. Russell's 13 in the Jack and Coke too. 😆
Sorry, I got acetone and plastic model glue. 16 is horrible. My buddies hate it, too. Didn’t open up much better after a week.
After I put it in my top 10… it didn’t stand up to any of my favorites. Shocked how my taste changed on it.
@@Beyondwhiskeyrow I guess they did batches, so results may vary; a lot, apparently, because so many rave on about it, but truly, mine tastes like chemical waste.
I wish that my taste buds where that sensitive. I cant make my senses tell me all those different flavors
I wish I liked it. All the good reviews but its just not hitting for me :(
To me it’s really over oaked. 16 years is too long. It’s just ok…and there is no way I’d pay for another bottle.
Definitely pricey but certainly not rare..its junk..
This video was over a year ago so things have changed. Thank you for watching!
