    I have well over 4,000 cosmetic patient encounters under my belt and the one thing that every patient who undergoes any procedures, relays to me regarding their experience, is how great it makes them feel. The therapeutic advantage many cosmetic treatments afford patients is sometimes underrated and underappreciated. A quick "pick me up" with a few CC of Botox is as satisfying as an $80 stick of Rouge CL lipstick! Often times, clients have told me it helps to kick relationships into another gear, sprinkle mild doses of spice into their marriages, and make them feel rejuvenated and ready to take on the next day. Amazing stuff!
    Nice video Mona. Keep it up!

      But I'm concerned reading comments like this. It's as if you're saying that your physical appearance will determine your happiness or success. Looking to cosmetic procedures for a sense of joy and validation is not the answer. There's a great quote from the Bible, it was Jesus himself who said, "you're not defiled by what goes into you, you're defiled by what comes out of you. For from the heart comes all kinds of evil. Clean the inside of the cup then the outside will also be clean"......people focus so much on the outside of the cup and pay no mind to the inside. And all the procedures in the world can't Compensate for a corrupt heart

      Yes! I agree! I’m 50 and people tell me I look 40. I have never had Botox or fillers. I think if you take care of your skin by having a good skin care routine and staying out of the sun you can look much younger than your actual age. I feel like too many young people are using this stuff because of pressure from social media. When your in your 20’s you look great as you are!

    I’ve done a lip filler because I was losing volume in my upper lip. My tip, invest in a good doctor. I went to a doctor and she told me straight away that more then 1 mil will not look good on my face. She put in around .75 mil and I still paid for the full syringe. Was it expensive? Yes! Was it worth it? Yes. No one can tell that I had anything done, and that’s exactly what I wanted. My lips are now fuller, symmetrical and more moisturized. So I agree with her, do not over do it, and pick a really good doctor.

    I will be 63 next March 10. I have never had any procedures done, but I do try to make good health choices and people are shocked and surprised when I tell them my age. It is not genes (I know from what I see within my family) but from my day-to-day choices since a very young age. I am always learning and growing in the health arena and now follow you and have gleaned so much from you. I tell others about you often.

    • @duchesspodcast
      @duchesspodcast Месяц назад

      Yeah exactly. I mean I can spend $$$ on the "unitaskers" of skincare, or I can take that cash and spend it on my dance classes, healthful food, off-insurance hormone specialists and compound pharmacy hormones (I need them for sanity at 45!), even travel and recreation, which enriches the spirit and brings joy to the soul!! And this light radiates in your smile! Taking care of your health is the best and wisest thing to do, and it absolutely impacts your skin - as it is, it's an organ.

    You are so right, it’s a red flag if you see over advertisement online . I went to a “famous” plastic surgeon in Miami and had some complications due to filling an area that is not FDA approved. I was wowed with all the photos I saw.
    I have since been seen a plastic surgeon Dr.Keni in a Chicago suburb, Oakbrook, for Botox and fillers. IL. He has always taken his time to watch my face expressions and always goes slow with injections! Thank you for your informative video, very important for people considering filler/Botox. Wish I educated my self earlier.

    I am a male who had both Rejuvaderm and Botox. A well trained plastic surgeon performed the treatment.It was somewhat expensive and painful. (probably because men don't have the adipose fat women do) . I think the disappointing part of it is that nobody noticed the difference until I pointed out I no longer had lines and wrinkles. My best advice is to simply avoid overexposure to the sun. In all honesty, unless you are a movie star, most people are not interested in you, and could care less about anyone but themselves.

I’ve had it done back in July and I do plan on going soon to get more done since it didn’t fully fix the issue. But I am very happy with my results overall and had no pain of bruising.

    Great video, not all the way through it yet but in many states, it doesn’t have to be a doctor who injects. It can be an RN, NP, or PA. Most of the time, the aesthetic RNs and NPs are more skilled at botox and fillers than doctors because they do it all day, everyday. some doctors and dentists only do it as an add on service a few times a week. Just something to keep in mind. 😊

    A Plastic Surgeon and cosmetic doctor+radiologist did a study with MRI scans proving that "temporary" filler doesn't always absorb into the body as marketed; and can actually last for years and migrate to other areas of the face. Example a women who had lip filler from years prior migrate deeper to around her gums up closer to the nose, or cheek filler migrating to the under eye or vise versa..

      @LorraFae 4 года назад

      Kari Padilla if they’re hollows, go for it. If you just have dark circles it won’t help - that is likely a kidney issue, lack of sleep, poor diet (excess protein), stress etc.

    • @PandaA-cv3mm

      They can be excellent for this exact issue. If you are in Europe or Australia you can use Teosyal Redensity 2 which is specifically made for the under eye area as it doesn’t attract as much water as other fillers and it contains amino acids which lighten the area. Otherwise a good occuloplastic surgeon or a plastic surgeon who does a lot of under eye filler is your best bet! Belotero and restylane are commonly used.

      Elisha Martinez hi, a little late to the party on this but I will post to the rest of the video community too but wanted to address you personally here as it was this thread I was reading. I hope you understand I’m not trying to be a know it all, just passing on my experience on something I’ve actually had done.
      So, fixing the gummy smile with Botox isn’t a new technique although perhaps not as wildly popular as its more well known uses and it does need a skilled Medical/Dental Aesthetics doctor to do it. I have had mine done so this is factual information I’m giving you, as I have good teeth but they are smaller and my upper gums showed more than I liked. The procedure at the time, about 18 months - 2 yrs ago, was done in Harley Street in London, was minimally painful, some downtime and very successful. Like it does with every other area it’s injected into, it relaxes the muscle that pulls the lip too far up the gum line when a person with prominent gums smiles.
      Done right, it does not inhibit your smile one bit and I fact enhances it because now your teeth no longer look too small, your gums are no longer the first thing someone notices about your smile and you can smile wider knowing that your lip is resting along the top of your teeth, which is where it should rest naturally.
      No need for cutting, fillers or any other crazy dental work if your own teeth are basically good. I would and will do it over and over and over again if need be. I don’t have any other procedures done, but this made me physically cry with joy at my own reflection after 40 something years of hiding my smile. I hope that helps. Xxx

    Do you worry about the long term effects of BOTOX? E.g. drooping eyelids when you’re older. I am always concerned about the long term effects of these treatments and have stuck to using Frownies and microcurrent up until now because of the studies I’ve read about the long term side effects. However, these types of studies are very limited so I’m unsure if my rationale is correct and would love your opinion. Thank you!

    Yes, go deeper into this subject. And also what do you think about the Glopro microneedling tool by BeautyBio? I’ve been contemplating whether I should buy it or not. Bc I already own the Rose Quartz Roller & Gua Sha Set. What are your thoughts 💭 I’m beginning to see some lines you know that Bridge between the eyes 👀 haha! I don’t want those lines haha 😆
    Should I do baby Botox like you mentioned on those lines now before they set deep? Help! Luv you, Mona. You are awesome 👏 with all your amazing advice. Xoxo 😚 Peace ✌🏻

    If I had the money I would get botox and fillers straight away. It's really easy to tell people to age gracefully and embrace themselves when you're not the one with incredibly prominent frown lines since age 25.

      Diana Calderon look into natural breast augmentation, it’s more expensive, because they take your own fat from legs or butt or belly and fill it into your breasts.

      I think it varies from people to people and from brand to brand (implants). Some people have them and seem to do just fine. Others experience signs of toxicity after 6 months. It's up to you to try getting them and see if you're one of the lucky people who have no adverse reactions to implants. Also, saline is a better option if you want to avoid breast implant illness. The only thing about saline is they ripple and don't feel as natural as silicone.

      What are you asking a pharmacist's opinion on breast implants? She's not a physician. I'm not trying to be rude, but you should ask this question to someone else.

      People with breast implants need to change them every 10 years or so, so I think some decide to remove them instead, especially since it’s not that trendy to be big chested anymore. I never understood people getting breast implants when clearly a more flat chest is way way nicer looking and clothing just looks nicer on someone with smaller breasts.

    Hi Dr. Mona!
    I’ve been looking to get Botox for my TMJ for a few months now. You mentioned in the video to not go to a dentist for Botox, but if it’s for TMJ specifically, do you think that’s okay? Or do you think I should still try to find a plastic surgeon?

    • @edubd5749

      Some Oral Surgeon's are also qualified Cosmetic Surgeon's. So I believe that it depends upon what kind of dentist it is. There a qualified specialty dentist, such as Oral Surgeon's and some prosthodontist's that may do botox and filler injections...they have medical training degrees as well as dental.

    I want to let everyone know Dentists are one of the most skilled practitioners who are administering neurotoxins. They routinely inject MUCH deeper intraorally to achieve profound anesthesia prior to performing any dental work. (As do us Hygienists 🤓) We are trained extensively on anatomical features, landmarks as well as proper technique when using a syringe. Additionally Dentists understand muscle movement, function and facial esthetic features...they utilize all these techniques and skills daily in restorative work. They are more than qualified to deliver neurotoxin injections, that’s why their scope of practice includes it within their license. 😀

    Be interested in your thoughts on injectable skin boosters. It's not like fillers although they're HA but they stimulate your own collagen.Profhilo is very popular in Europe, also Restylane Vital and the French one Filorga Nctf.

    • @PandaA-cv3mm
      @PandaA-cv3mm 3 года назад

      These are excellent if not overused. They can overall add plumpness and hydration to the skin. Amazing for hands too. I have seen them give the filler/swollen look, however if used too liberally. An excellent product as well is Sunekos 200 which is more for collagen/elastin stimulation but can help with fine lines and under eye hollows and darkness. It is not as plumping as Profhilo unless one chooses Sunekos 1200. All of the above are fantastic products.

    • @frankie9953
      @frankie9953 4 года назад

      If you have allergies/sinus issues you are not a candidate for under eye fillers... I was told. They can put filler in your cheeks to help with the "bags." It doesn't get rid of them but it helps SO much and it is 100% worth it, in my experience.

      @@glaciergang I too have genetic under eye bags but since I also have sinus issues, they told me I could not get them. I am happy you were able to get them filled and that you are liking the results! :)

    • @quincystucki

      frankie why did they say you can’t get it with allergies?

    • @frankie9953
      @frankie9953 4 года назад +1

      @@quincystucki My injector told me that due to the irregularities in the state of ones' sinuses, congestion can lead to either fluid build up or the filler can appear more swollen on days when you are experiencing sinus issues/allergies. Since the area is in a state of flux, especially if you have sinus issues, it can cause your filler to move around more while readily causing unpleasant puffiness. I've had my deviated septum fixed in hopes of helping my sinus but still struggle with congestion. For me, it just wasn't worth it to risk getting fillers under my eyes. I instead had filler put in my cheeks which helped out tremendously! Hope that helps! :)
