    I totally agree on this judgmental I am 72 years young for health issues I can’t have botox or other injectables I already had over 12 life or death surgeries so I am not going to go willingly under another surgeon knife to have a plastic surgery with that said I take very good care of my skin & I use home devices . I don’t mind people after knowing my age ask me if I had plastic surgery or how I take care of my skin what I use etc… but I hate it when a woman says to me “ I am not like you I don’t want to look younger I embrasse my age” My answer “ honey I do not want to look younger I happily say my age I am grateful to God I reached this age taking care of ME does not mean I want to look younger or I am ashamed of my age. So please women do not put other women down do not judge them you do not know what they went through in their life or what makes them happy.

      I know exactly what you mean. I am 52 years old I’m a grandmother of 9 beautiful children and people freak out. Thanks to my grandma she always kept herself thin and healthy….she said we have to eat to live not live to eat. I grew up with that mentality and I incorporated it to my skin as well. I’ve always been thin but after age 45 I noticed it was harder to maintain my weight at a healthy number so I started working out and try my best to cut out sugar and carbs. Trust me it takes hard work and discipline and for some women to quickly make us feel guilty for doing this is very disappointing. Thanks for sharing your story…..God bless you! ❤️

    Your first point on facial expressions is spot-on. My BFF is into drama in all forms and she's overly expressive. A couple years ago I couldn't help but observe how her dramatic expressions caused extreme folds/wrinkles in the moment. After 45, everything we do, or don't do, seems to have great impact, often with multiple outcomes. We had no idea how easy we had it in our youth, LOL.

      I'm 28, will be 29 this year and I have to say I disagree with this.
      From an early age I haven't been a smiler, my face is always "neutral" and I have zero wrinkles and fine lines, I'm not sure how I trained myself to stop using facial muscles but in terms on health its unhealthy and not normal and people should not encourage people to stop using facial muscles! Yes it does delay wrinkles BUT in my case it also weakens those unused muscles and you can see the sag and droop at an early age. Unused muscles are useless... Therefore they have nothing to do other than age you

    • @betterlivingonabudget
      @betterlivingonabudget 5 месяцев назад

      @@helenaxxxx5015 Good points, Helen! Smiling releases endorphins, and it also causes people to interact with us on a different level than never smiling during convo, etc. My statement regarding my BFF isn't referring to smiling. She smashes her brows together like she's trying to make an exclamation point with her face - it's extreme - in a negative reaction to minor things. She does it constantly. It really shows when she's not 'exclaiming' with her face - very deep crevices in the '11' zone, as well as around her eyes etc.

    I have been using some skincare products with actives for years, but I recently upped the routine to include more peptides (topical and supplemental powder), .02 (I think) percent Ordinary retinol (so far no adverse reactions whatsoever), and a mild exfoliating serum, along with an Omnilux LED mask (I can't see or walk with it, but for some reason I have no problem napping with it on). I do more facial exercises (but not cutting back much on my facial expressions, because I wanna live, too), still drink water, and I try like mad to sleep (although I take care of my mom full time, and she requires repositioning at all times, every three hours or so). Thanks to this video, I'll now also be trying the clear Nexcare tape on the parts of my face I sleep on (I already have a decent pillow with a silk case). I really am impressed with how you look, with and without makeup. Have a blessed Christmas.

    Recently started using frownies and trying to re-train my expressions. Also ordered a red light therapy panel for Mother’s Day :) so excited to get it! I’ve been doing a lot of research on red light therapy and the science behind it is amazing. I would say just get a high quality panel you can stand in front on. No need to get so many multiple devices for different areas of the body.

  • @marcyjackson7577

    Great video! Using many of the things you talk about, including argireline, smoothies and 0.05% retin-a. I’m 55 and while it is not like in my 20’s my forehead and frown lines are pretty darn good. I wear my smoothies during the day when I work from home especially on the computer or reading. Because they are clear I can wear them more then I could with the frownies. Really helps with retraining as well. I am too lazy for facial devices but I do have a red light panel I sit in front of, which was more for health reasons but great for my skin too. Xxx

It took awhile for it to go back to normal. So weird I know, I did research and it said could cause skin sagging from using Acetyl Hexapeptide 8. I read the Ordinary’s comments and their product did that to quite a few people. Thx for another great vid!😊

I like the smoothies much better than the frownies also. A tip I saw on Mary Ellen after 60's channel on the red-light face mask device. After using it on your face for the allotted amount of time, then turn it back on for 3 minutes and hold it to your lips. I have just started using one so don't know how it's working yet. Great content. I just subscribed to your channel. Have a blessed day.

    Stephanie, economically speaking where would you say to start ? Red light, nano current , etc ?

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  11 месяцев назад +2

      It depends on what you want to target. If you feel you want lifting/contouring/depuffing/collagen/brightening, you may want to start with microcurrent, which also helps with the other things I mentioned in the video. But if you'd rather focus on overall skin evening/wrinkles/collagen/brightening, etc LED is such a great overall therapy. You could combine it with gua sha for a while and assess whether you want to go with microcurrent later? If you have pesky undereyes with loose skin and texture in that area, that's when I'd say, Nira is where it's at. It's more of a specific therapy. I hope I didn't confuse you. I'd just try to focus on your main areas of concern and go from there :)

    Maybe people scoff or don’t believe you e retrained yourself to stop making some facial expressions but I don’t! I’ve done the same thing. At almost 58, my forehead is not lined. I also sleep on a silk pillowcase.

    With the smoothies, would these have to be applied before your nightly skincare or can I apply then once everything has settled in my skin?

    It’s funny. Everything turned on me when I hit 60, yup. It all changed. Makeup face, hair, eyes. Ha haha. I do need a good routine. I have always used skincare. No devices. But I just got the lip thingie ha ha. Ex smoker and my lips have gone. Ha ha. I need some good skin care tho. There is so much to know and learn. I would get lip filler to remove lines. But too scared

      @StephanieMarie  Месяц назад

      I make sure to press it firmly to my skin before pressing the button. I find I feel the zap less that way. Play around with your settings too. Level 3 is perfect for me with the precision, whereas 5 works well for me with the pro :)

      Absolutely not. Pick the one that suits you the most. If you want to pinpoint certain hard to reach smaller areas, go for the precision. If you want bigger, larger areas that also reach some of the smaller areas, go for the pro :)

      I'd say no. It's a nice add-on localized quick treatment. since it's just three minutes. But I'd say you're pretty set if you have a full-face one :)

      It’s the only device that has both micro and nanocurrent. Thats why it works as well as it does. Most devices that have technology that works well are a bit costly, but are less than repeated procedures.

    Botox can help decrease static wrinkles.

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  11 месяцев назад

      Botox can lessen static wrinkles by but it can't get ride of them fully once they're permanently etched in. Botox's primary function is to relax facial muscles and target dynamic wrinkles so they don't become static wrinkles that are set in permanently. Its MOA is targeting dynamic wrinkles even though it can soften both.

    I’m really scared to use the Nira because I don’t want to lose any fat in my face!

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  10 месяцев назад +3

      Non-ablative lasers like Nira work in the upper layers of the dermal tissue and aren't designed to go deeply enough to affect the fat cells that are beneath that dermal layer.

      Exactly what I said in the video. Nothing goes directly into the skin or muscle to work the same. These are alternative solutions that work well for those that don't want to get botox or filler.

    That don’t work maybe improve on your skin but not on wrinkles .

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  10 месяцев назад

      Hello Cecilia, Part of your comment is correct, they improve your skin. But wrinkles are part of your skin. :) And these things absolutely can and do improve fine, lines, texture, and tone. No, they don't work directly in the muscle (just as I said in the video), but they can make improvements with consistent use. If you watched the video, you'll note that many penetrate beneath the dermal layer to stimulate new collagen, elastin, etc. which is what gives visible results. Products are better now than they used to be. You learn these things when it's your job to test and research products and when you see results from them. It's easy to judge and be dismissive when you don't actually test these things out.
