Stick the upcoming usb hub below the monitor, a little set back too if needed instead of below the desk. It’ll be low enough to not be visible at all times, but very convenient to access when needed. A slim hub would work best here than a chonky one
So after seeing your other video months ago I actually got an L-Shaped standing desk and found pegboards on amazon and put one on each side of the desk. The peg boards came with dual monitor mounts and I am able to use one side for work, one side for gaming. To fit them had to get a 65x72 desk, but it was absolutely worth it. Pegboards were the EUREKA ERGONOMIC Desk Pegboard with Dual Monitor Stand and the desk I have is by a brand named Vivo. Thank you so much for the inspiration! It just adds that next level of decoration and functionality that is just awesome
I've tried many multi-display setups, and I've learned that my primary monitor must be directly in front of me. My office arrangement is a 32" 4K monitor front and center flanked by two 22" 1080p monitors in portrait mode. All are 60-75 Hz VA panels.
I have a 77'' 4K 120 hz LG OLED TV as my main monitor and two 32'' monitors on the sides. I have been considering have both on one side stacked on top of each other.
Edifier is a bizarre brand. They seemed to come out of nowhere, make cheap products that sound far too good for their price. I got one of their sets that all look the same with very slight feature set differences a while back and very happy even as a 2.0 setup.
Absolutely, a UPS is great. Depending on the wattage/size needed though they do take up a bit of space, but it looks like Kyle could maybe fit one behind one of his monitors. I put mine on a pc rolling cart for my desk

I mentioned in a post that the USB hub is one to keep an eye on. I have the RHS-A107D and he has the A103C I think it was. My version can get very damn hot at times. Thinking of replacing it with an Anker I have rather than be checking temperature. I was originally going to be stupid and stick a smart temperature sensor right next to it and monitor it via HomeKit. Maybe not. 😆
@@andrewdavidson665 Anker is a well trusted brand but it doesn't mean their products are without flaw, be careful of any and all USB Hubs because it doesn't matter the brand since they will usually tend to overheat and stop working.
I noticed that too, I saw the surge protector outlet and noticed the brand was just a no name brand that's the same thing as the USB Hub, a cheap product. You do NOT want a cheap and crappy power surge protector because those can quite literally destroy your entire PC if it's not made correctly and overheats.
I got a very similar light on top of the monitor with the same adjustment knob, total game changer, I can actually see my desk now, I'm no longer staring into the void!
I hadn't seen that solution before, but I use the iCue Ambient LED strips on the backside of my monitor (with a white wall behind) that spills a lot of light onto the desk. And you're absolutely right; it makes a big difference. The eye relief is a game changer, whether it's set to ambient (which projects colours that map to what's on the monitor) or matching my PC's LED colour scheme. Highly recommended.
Horrible product for so many reasons. Dudes got a ton of RGB installed all over the desk already. Ring lights. If you want something like this, install behind the monitor and/or below the monitor. Literally the worst place for a light is shining down directly onto your monitor. 🤦♂️
@@scooter73-i2 It’s not so much about seeing things - you don’t want to be looking at a very bright screen with complete darkness filling the rest of your field of view. My favorite addition is a pair of power strip desk clamps, they clamp onto the back of the desk and have pegs that fit the back mounting holes of any power strip. It places power outlets in a easy to reach position.
You should test the charger on top of the desk and compare it to the "through the desk" charging performance. If you find that the direct charge if much quicker and better, you might consider flipping the desk upside down, routing out about 3/4 of the thickness, and then mounting the charger in that recess. You may find this to dramatically improve the through desk performance and still have your clean look on top.
With these wireless chargers, the closer you can get them to the phone, the better. Though I'd also add that they generate a heat, so having a very small air gap would be advisable. Imagine you stick your phone on one of these one day and it just levitates like those spinning globes.

Kyle... Bitwit .... Your videos are so entertaining and informative or the years and I Love your charity..... You are a really good person with great vibes!
Yay a vlog from Kyle! Those edifier speakers you got are great on their own, but since you got the DBS model, and not the DB one, you can install their subwoofer by just pluging a cable. They sell it separately and it really completes the set. My countribution to how to improve your already improved desk would be one of those fake bonsai mini trees. Some of them are so perfect you can't tell it's fake, and they look super cool.
I was a bit sceptic about lightbars until i bought one for myself. It is great in the way that i no longer need to have my ceeling lamp on if i want to see my desk. And cable management of it was super simple since i just pluged it into the monitor it sits on.
i have one from OOWolf or how they are called on my 27" S2721DGFA and from the point it got up there, connected directly to one of the hubports of that monitor, its the very next thing i turn on, when the monitor gets turned on. Controls are touchy on the sides and they work well and the thing i found, that the light has some slight contrast improving effect on the monitor added to lighting the place withoud blinding you. I added a Sabrent powered 4-port USB hub to the back of my monitor running it through one of the monitor’s ports. The hub’s ports are on the edges, not a face so I lined it up with the edge of the monitor. Anything plugged in sits proud so you don’t forget it’s there and you can use it for a wireless receiver dongle (like the one for wireless headset which are a longer term install) without the monitor blocking the connection to move your fingerprint reader giving you the extension you are using back. EDIT: The hub has buttons that disable individual ports too which is handy, with LED light rings to indicate a port is being utilized.
@@Collin_J feel free. Yeah, the older monitors also don’t have KVM functionality either, so their ports don’t really work for your KB/mouse either. Monitor USB ports are inconvenient as heck most times.
Whats crazy......I literally have all the products you just got. Like every single thing you just added even the speakers only mine arent bluetooth. I just got it all this past weekend. Its all very very helpful
I love mounting stuff on the underside of my desk. Makes it SO much easier. I love the velcro strips too. I use velcro strips on my desk, walls, etc. Good job!
Welcome back. Never had good luck with double-sided tape on the bottom of my desk but if it's working for you...I'd be double paranoid about trusting a nice set of earphones to it, especially with a cat around. (Loved the cat saying "no cover power!" when you put that on) If you're looking for more USB expansion spots, why not put a 4 or 7 port by the top cable access area. Then you can run the cable down right there and the hub is still out of the way.
Instead of getting another USB hub to mount at the front of your desk, you should just get some more USB extensions. Stick the female end under the front of the desk, and wire them in to the ports you're not using on the hub you already have underneath.
I feel like you'll eventually want to print a little mount for that amp cause those 3M adhesive strips seem to like giving out over time to heavier metal objects.
Get a under couch subwoofer. They are also wall mountable and cpuld be mounted on the wall under the desk. I have a 2.1 setup. 70 watt bookshelf speakers with a 50 watt amp then an under couch sub with its own built in amp. The setup sounda super clean.
I use that fingerprint scanner for a couple of years now. I have it mounted permanently on the USB port on my Creative Vanguard keyboard, so every time I want to log in, I caress my keyboard!
Why dont you get a 32:9 Monitor? It would annoy me so much that if I would look straight forward, that I would just look at the bazzels of the monitors, and to not really have a "Main" monitor
Good choice on speakers. Edifier makes some of the best desktop speakers on the market. Other things you might have missed, a Sennheiser GSX1000 to chain into that Fiio dac amp for virtual 7.1 gaming and general content consumption. It really is that good. Headphone wise, might sound crazy, but get a companion set, namely the cheap pair of Koss Porta or Sporta Pros, or the 30KPH/40KPH. You can slap some Yaxi pads on them. They are tuned extremely well and are super comfortable. I end up using these more than my high end headphones.
My new studio setup is similar and I even have the same monitor light. A suggestion would be to place the new usb hub front and centre with that light control. A 6-8 port USB A and C combo at 10GB is pretty much going to cover anything you throw at it and it's not in the way. Great video, thanks.
I have 2 pair of the Edifier speakers and loved them so much I got my Mom and my Daughter a pair for their PC. For the money you can not go wrong, also it's nice to either to be able to use or not use Headphones
Pro tip from someone who works from home with 2 PCs, instead of just a usb extender for the fingerprint reader, you could totally just use a usb hub there and get the usb ports at the front like you wanted.
yeah i have one from OOWolf or how they are called and i dont want to miss it, directly connected to the monitors hub, improves not only the lighting, but gives the monitor (S2721DGFA) a slight contrast edge imho.
Thanks Kyle now I'm buying more stuff lol Actually the vacuum I was looking for one so that was a nice addition. Already added to my cart now looking at the other stuff Also the over the top light I need a new one mine broke about a month back and I so miss it.
The under desk draw is handy, I might get one! Getting no name brand from china is pretty safe if it's low tech and especially low power (forget about a 'hoverboard' or scooter with a large lithium battery...)
Very nice setup. However, I’d opt for a triple monitor setup and would put the PC either on the floor, mounted under the desk or above the peg board. I can relate to wanting a clean uncluttered desk and IMO popping the PC on the desk is a waste of space. Also, you might want to get a 3d printer because some of those items you bought would be a quick print.
Careful with those powered usb hubs, i've read many reviews that said these things relay power into your pc system/plugged in drives, which can mess things up big time. I have yet to find one that seems secure in the long run
haha @5 minutes, oh Kyle is about to learn you always need more amplification ;) doesn't matter how little power they need, a better amp will always bring more out of your cans. Also yes, I have heard good things about that dac and have been eyeballing it and the model right above it that has balanced out.
Can you tell me what Black Pegboard organizer you have behind your monitors? Looking for something very sturdy and like the fact it can handle 2 of the Elgato Key Lights with all of the other items you have mounted. Thanks
Awesome setup. I guess I speak to all those who are "Man of Cultures" out there that you my guy are one of a kind. A booty panel, first time seeing it and I'm kind of thinking of having one.
I will say top props on the booty panel lol. But as for the monitor light I also got into them recently. I made on pitches on drop but the one I have I actually like and I think the button works better as it’s metal and a touch screen. I would recommend: Elesense PC Monitor LED Light Bar. So far works wonders and I like the button layout and feel of it.
Those Edifier speakers have a dedicated subwoofer line out - I'd definitely consider adding one. You've only got the one PC, otherwise I'd suggest adding a USB switch. You might add a nice clock too, I know there's one on the computer, but sometimes it's nice to just glance over and see the time
Yeah but you have to be careful with that model, as there are different versions, you need to have the DBs, which are the ones with Bluetooth and the s stands for the subport. What i found kinda funny was as he said they sound neutral...yeah no they dont, those are bookshelf multimedia speakers, but no studio monitors and they have a certain amount of colored sound and certain weaknesses in the crossover and co to them. They sound nice, for their size and money, but they are surely not good for making music or so. And before someone asks, i've got a pair of Presonus Eris Studio 5's sitting here, connected via balanced XLR provided by a Klark Teknik Pro DI AV 2 DI 22P which is connected to my AE-7, running in direct mode with 32Bit 384KHz.
Yooo I don't actually remember when I last watched one of your videos - but that's because of my ADHD and easily being drawn to other things and well.. life I guess - anyways! Really quite enjoyed this video as I'm about to take apart my desk and install the hight adjustable frame which just arrived and you gave me a couple nice ideas to add to my setup :D Though... I gotta turn off the pc now which is the hardest part of it all... activated the bell and can't wait to see what else you'll be doing - no matter if desk related ;) Cheers~
Saw you had a Stream Deck+ Don't know if you knew or not but they just released a USB hub attachment for the back of it that also has a built in SD and Micro SD card reader. Might be a good way to help minimize the amount of things you need to plug in~
Those are the Corsair ones that match the desk. I'd check a hardware store or IKEA (if you have one) for pegboard. A bigger hardware store nearby has metal ones that I hadn't noticed before and now I'm thinking about some upgrades to my space...
Maybe zip tie some fake vines on the pegboard...fill it out. Lots of green to balance the black of the objects on the pegboard. Just a thought :) Overall, super clean though!

Hey Kyle, thanks for giving me the idea to mount my USB hub and DAC under the desk. It looks much more cleaner now.
Some pretty useful stuff, good job Kyle!
(Loved the cat saying "no cover power!" when you put that on)
If you're looking for more USB expansion spots, why not put a 4 or 7 port by the top cable access area. Then you can run the cable down right there and the hub is still out of the way.
Gave me awesome ideas! Love the finger print scanner and power button extension thingy
Instead of getting another USB hub to mount at the front of your desk, you should just get some more USB extensions. Stick the female end under the front of the desk, and wire them in to the ports you're not using on the hub you already have underneath.
thanks for the setup update/tour, have always liked these videos done by you.
I feel like you'll eventually want to print a little mount for that amp cause those 3M adhesive strips seem to like giving out over time to heavier metal objects.
Love these types of videos. Always looking for neat things to improve my desk
Wow. As it happens, I have the same speakers and keyboard. Got them last year, I think. Same models on both, I believe. I love both of them.
Get a under couch subwoofer. They are also wall mountable and cpuld be mounted on the wall under the desk. I have a 2.1 setup. 70 watt bookshelf speakers with a 50 watt amp then an under couch sub with its own built in amp. The setup sounda super clean.
Edifier makes really good speakers. I have the 1280T and they are phenomenal speakers for the price.
It would annoy me to look at anything but a 4k oled. Which don’t come in ultra wide lol
I LOVE MY EDIFIER SPEAKERS!!! Highly underrated speakers!
"One of the highest rated on Amazon"
Ah yes, those super reliable ratings on Amazon 😂
My new studio setup is similar and I even have the same monitor light. A suggestion would be to place the new usb hub front and centre with that light control. A 6-8 port USB A and C combo at 10GB is pretty much going to cover anything you throw at it and it's not in the way. Great video, thanks.
happy your back to posting on the regular now....godspeed brother
great setup. there is an option in windows to prevent anything from happening when the power button is pressed down.
I have 2 pair of the Edifier speakers and loved them so much I got my Mom and my Daughter a pair for their PC.
For the money you can not go wrong, also it's nice to either to be able to use or not use Headphones
Nice upgrade on your desktop area clean and organized more to come! Hope have a PC specs you used at your home same w/ me in the future! TY!
what do you call the booty LED thing that goes in the pc case? i mean how can i search for one that has different stuff on it?
upgrade your chair to an ergo one like a herman miller
Oh that power button is a game changer. NEED!
What is that pegboard? Where can I buy one?
Pro tip from someone who works from home with 2 PCs, instead of just a usb extender for the fingerprint reader, you could totally just use a usb hub there and get the usb ports at the front like you wanted.
0:32 well. i think you are wrong. it will be better for your health to stand up from time to time
Exactly. Circulation.
I got a tip to further improve your setup: Activate Windows
The light bar for the monitor is admittedly the thing i wish i did years ago. I thought they were stupid now i have one on every setup in the house.
yeah i have one from OOWolf or how they are called and i dont want to miss it, directly connected to the monitors hub, improves not only the lighting, but gives the monitor (S2721DGFA) a slight contrast edge imho.
@ 11:45 the control knob to the light. I would confuse that with my Santa Cruz Shredder Grinder.
could always mount the USB hub on the back of the monitor aiming down. keeps it out of sight but still within arms reach.
I love the power buttons but since my computer is above me on a shelf I decided to try the keyfob card and i'll never go back love it lol

I just got the fingerprint reader and it works so well.
haha @5 minutes, oh Kyle is about to learn you always need more amplification ;) doesn't matter how little power they need, a better amp will always bring more out of your cans.
A booty panel, first time seeing it and I'm kind of thinking of having one.
i love when bitwit posts
And before someone asks, i've got a pair of Presonus Eris Studio 5's sitting here, connected via balanced XLR provided by a Klark Teknik Pro DI AV 2 DI 22P which is connected to my AE-7, running in direct mode with 32Bit 384KHz.
do you prefer the wireless charger then outlet grommets?
W setup Kyle!!!
If you do not have it already I would recommend a UPS with battery backup. .
For me the biggest upgrade to my setup was the usb hub as I'm always connecting peripherals or just wanting to charge something lol
Love the rifle above the pc
Pawn store joke epic. Your a REAL MAN
I got a dac and a set of edifier bluetooth speakers from my local thrift store for about 20 bucks lol. I get some really good stuff from there.
Dude got all this from free sponsored emails and made a video of it all hell yeah
Pro gamer move would be to get an old sonos port and plug that into your speakers to be able to also use those with the sonos app
Yooo I don't actually remember when I last watched one of your videos - but that's because of my ADHD and easily being drawn to other things and well.. life I guess - anyways!
Really quite enjoyed this video as I'm about to take apart my desk and install the hight adjustable frame which just arrived and you gave me a couple nice ideas to add to my setup :D
Though... I gotta turn off the pc now which is the hardest part of it all...
activated the bell and can't wait to see what else you'll be doing - no matter if desk related ;)
Cheers~
Saw you had a Stream Deck+
Don't know if you knew or not but they just released a USB hub attachment for the back of it that also has a built in SD and Micro SD card reader.
Might be a good way to help minimize the amount of things you need to plug in~
setup is super clean!!!
18:00 - "Guns n' Roses". lol
Have a link to that rear pegboard? I've been looking for something like that and the ones I am finding are much smaller.
Those are the Corsair ones that match the desk. I'd check a hardware store or IKEA (if you have one) for pegboard. A bigger hardware store nearby has metal ones that I hadn't noticed before and now I'm thinking about some upgrades to my space...
Like the additions you made.
That wireless charger looks pretty cool and I kind of want one for my desk.
New girlfriend ? Hooray, what a joyous day :D Sooo happy for you my man
Maybe zip tie some fake vines on the pegboard...fill it out. Lots of green to balance the black of the objects on the pegboard. Just a thought :) Overall, super clean though!
