Before you scroll through the comments leave a guess of which apartment i chose!!
I'll try to guess the price. +$2500
I think you’ll choose the one with the dog. 😃
Please do not move here I promise you in a year you'll be over it and you'll be looking for a way out
1st one
Too late but glad to be here 💕
Anyone else find themselves randomly watching apartment hunts in cities thousands of miles away that they’ve never even been to and have zero plans to go to? Nope ok
Annie Hodgson I get a lot of people searching on my channel. Can’t wait to get out of the shut down too make more videos.
Annie Hodgson yaaaaass, now I know am not alone hehe
Yeah 🤣 I’m in the UK 🤣🤣
Never, but now that you put that idea in my head..... its over
ROFLOL!!!!!
Me: *sees video titled "Apartment Hunting in San Francisco."
Me: Good luck.
EXACTLY 🤣😂🌎 I moved to Oakland, late 2013. I cannot believe that my $1,300 studio now goes for more than 3k!
@@DB-xo6xh I've lived here my whole life! It's ridiculous and the studio is like 500sqft
My thoughts exactly. Yikes! This city has changed for worse since I have been here (almost 9 years ago).
@RICKY as someone who was born and raised in the Bay, and still lives here, I agree with her. This city has changed for the worst, of course there have been good things that have come out of this... But I don't think the internet is getting to her head.... It's true. Lol
@RICKY Opinions of strangers? I work in San Francisco and live in the Peninsula. I see it EVERY DAY!
I can’t imagine paying $1700 for a room, but the first option won me over. Those rooms were about the size of a NY studio
The rent actually seemed way cheaper than what I thought it would be
bingaling5 wow, I way just thinking the opposite 😂😂 I’m from Texas, so to me $1400-$1700 per person not including utilities seems insane to live in a living room or office with no closet! That’s how much I would expect to pay for the whole place!
Savannah These prices are like DC prices lol
bingaling5 haha i definitely wasn’t about to spent $1800+!!
Cheyenne Marie Totally agree. DC and the DMV area in general!
It depends on what area you live in. If you want to live in a sought out area, it would be way expensive than an area where no one wants to live in
Where I live in Texas you can find a three bedroom home with two bathrooms for $1,200 a month. It’s crazy how housing changes from place to place.
Adriana Melendez space, regulation and availability play a huge role (I live in Houston and completely know what you mean)
I paid a little more than that for a Studio in Lower Nob Hill in Sf. IN 2010‐2013!
$1200 Ingleside SF. I got lucky.
Adriana Melendez yes, and Florida is getting up there too!
@@DB-xo6xh back in the cheap days
This is like house hunters but with real people
heyitsjoshco [Josh Ocampo] LOL house hunters for millennials who can only afford to rent
@@Katherout agreed
Katherout omg mood
The first option seems really nice but I would choose apt. 5. The room is big, roommates are great, and it’s unique! There’s also Muni so you can get to bars and stuff more easily. And the area is super nice 👍
$1700 to live with 5 people, no way. They're trying that same crap in NYC too.
Market sets the price. No one is trying anything.
@@zombiana Swell! what is the average amount for a whole apat to your knowledge?
Tai Yu It depends on the neighborhood, square footage, # of bedrooms, condition and age, etc. The median price to buy any type of home in SF is about 1.3 to 1.4 million dollars. Then property taxes must be paid every year. The current rate is 1.1801%.
You didn’t actually end up talking about how you came to the $1700 rent mark. I would love to know your process about deciding what amount of rent you were willing to pay.
BEST SF apartment hunting video so far. THANK YOU!
Love the one you chose. I lived in SF at 23 ( a long time ago ha) and it was the best. So happy for you and your skin looks great. Can't wait to see more videos on your move etc. Happy for you!
So happy to find your channel! Grew up in San Francisco and it’s cool to see the content
I thought my room in London was expensive (750 pounds so around 900 US dollars with conversion) but oh boy those SF prices are crazy!
900 is cheap anywhere
As someone who navigated moving to the SF just over a year ago, I love seeing what others’ journeys to housing in this crazy market are like. Congrats on the new home! 😃
Aaron Rhodes thank you!! exciting time
So excited for you! Honestly impressed, that's such a good deal for SF!
cam walbridge thanks, cam!!
I think apartment 5, just from the feel you got from it and the how cheap it was with such a big room!
living in the bay area my whole life, i think these prices were all pretty good! Hope i can move to sf in a few years when i graduate!
Totally thought you would have chosen 5 buuut 4 is also good!
I would love a neighborhood tour or show us the area and where you grocery shop, workout, etc because I love seeing those things!
still figuring out how to protect my privacy while showing my routine!
Oooh yay I was right! 😊 Congratulations on your new place!! That is so exciting!
I’m moving out of home in a couple weeks too! I’d love to know how you’re preparing your kitchen set up and things your think are essentials!
I really liked this video! Thanks for sharing the process with us
Thank you for this. I’m 35 yr old getting out of a taxing relationship and figuring out how to properly look for a cute studio in SF., This is very helpful. Thank you.🙏🏻
Thanks for this video, helps me to know what to expect for a certain price range in SF in case I job hunt there.
For furniture, if you end up getting a dresser or anything secondhand, lugg is amazing in SF for getting bulky items delivered. Best of luck! Pac Heights is great.
Lovin all the uploads! And sooo excited and happy for you and this time in your life :) also rlly appreciate April Showers playing in the background!
April Showers best song!!
I guess you chose the one with the funky red paint in the living room because it was cheap, the room was big, and it had a street view with good lighting
Love your new lifestyle videos!!
I remember being in my 20s and living with roommates in the Inner Sunset then we all moved to the Mission. Such a fun time in our lives. Late nights, hungover Sunday's, making fun the next morning of the random hook-ups we'd bring home. We all still hang out, now with families and little kids, it's awesome.
Wishing you all the best in your time here in SF!
Woah 1700 for a shared apartment? San fran is freakin expensive!
Liz 287 the Bay Area is the most expensive real estate in the country
Liz 287 it’s pretty crazy but it’s doable based on the higher salaries here
@Zachary no u
Liz 287 I mean if u can get a two bedroom in a bad area in sf for like 2k this is an example of nicer areas in sf
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Big move. Congrats! Sounds like the right time for you!
Girl you look so good! Your skin, the glasses, your jacket/pins all so cute
wowowow thank you! i need to do a skin update i’m so pleased with my progress so far!
@@Katherout i have to say.. i agree with Tara. you are super beautiful.... great videos. im planning a move to SF in about a year and just starting the information gathering process.
last one 100% i love the stairs for the shower
Just curious, were these all unofficial subleases or were you adding yourself onto the lease via a relet? Also, did the previous roommates leave all the furnishings? Some of the units had really nice bedroom and living room furniture!
Your skin is looking amazing!!!
Maya Patel awww thank you maya!!
It's so interesting seeing inside these places in sanfran bc im going there in a week!!!
Nicole yayyy have so much fun!
Would’ve chosen #3 for sure, the layout was really nice.
I lovedddd apt 5, I’d definitely go with that one
just moved to SF 2 months ago! Loving it here :)
im hoping to move to san francisco in january so this was super helpful to help get an idea on prices
Where did you live before choosing an apartment? Did you sublet something short-term initially? I'm moving from the East coast so checking out lots of places, at least initially, is challenging.
I can't wait to see your next videos on moving in!!
they are COMIN up!!
I think you choose apartment 5 lower rent and you could save money. The room is a decent size and you got along with the roomates.
I would have went with 5. The room was a nice size and I loved how different the bathroom is
I think you chose apartment number 3 or 5!
Apartment #4!! I would of never guessed. Congrats on ur new place
No tenderloin, mission, soma lol or haight st. the area's u pick are really good neighborhood's
I love everyone in the comments being shook af at the rent prices, lol and I can barely afford my $500 room in Southern California let alone $1,400 which gets you a studio here. 😭😂
I love the big rooms of #1 but i think you chose #3!
I think best pick was the last apartment toured!!
I hope you chose the right one!
I live in Alameda and ferry over to SF all the time so please let us know fun things to do in SF for young working adults! Congrats on the future move!
Boat rides are calming
I live in Alameda too 😅 my whole apartment is the cost of what’s she’s looking for in a room!
Kylee Davito under $2,000 in alameda?! Cannot relate haha! What side of the island?
Samantha Ronco east end!!🤪
Samantha Ronco Golden Gate Park is my favorite place. North Beach too.
I’m guessing you chose #4? I thought you were going to go with #3 until you said the roommate was questionable.
Love the video by the way!!! So fun and informative!! Great content as always 😊
Victoria Vazquez thank you for the kind words victoria!!!
Hey Kat ... I can’t imagine which one you chose. However, I appreciate this video. I’ll be driving out there for work from Atlanta this week. I’m an electrician. I plan on being there Sunday. I’m in hopes to use your tips to find a place also. My employer is on Filmore, and I remember the PAC Heights area. Ha. I didn’t know it was such a highly favored area, I just remember being there briefly. Again, I thank you for this video.
Random Question but how do you find the confidence or time to film while living with roommates? Maybe I'm just more self conscious than I should be?!
Haha I saw the first apartment too and it’s so nice. Still looking for me!
Katherine where your glasses from? Thanks
i think she chose the 5th one! but that living room has to be repainted for sure
In Texas for 1700 you can get an apartment with 2 rooms, full amenities, the richest neighborhood in the city and everything like woooow
Hi between San francisco and los Angeles which one is better, nicer?
I clicked on this video. Before the video started, there was an ad about the Golden Gate bridge. Interesting!
What are the best and safe apps and sites to search for apartments to rent in SF?
I looove this kind of video! I think you’ll choose flat 5, which is definitely the one I would’ve chosen!
Ooh, I see you’ve chosen number 4! A close second for me, I hope you’ll be happy there!! And the rooftop and dog is a biiiiiig plus! Please vlog the moving process!
Amanda Makes Stuff thank you, amanda!! i’m amidst the move-in process and am so happy with my pick 😊
I would have gone with the crazy roommate in #3! Risk it for the biscuit, baby!!
Casey Sugs LMAO
i would have chosen the 4th apt but i think since you got along with the people from the 5th apt i think you chose that one
will you ever talk about silicon valley jobs creating severe bay area gentrification? just asking as a bay area native because i feel like a lot of san fran youtubers ignore it and it’s very frustrating
I'm thinking either apartment 1 or 3 (with the spiral staircase!)
lol i was super wrong
Apartment 3 for sure!
Deff #5!! Big room, good roommates, and ur like cheapest option
If it were me, I would be into Apartment 2 since personally I’m not one to stay in my room a lot and peaceful chill harmonious roommates are really important to me! My other personal favorite is Apartment 4! Very roomy apartment and the two other roommates seemed nice to live with!!
I live in Nob Hill and love it!
North bay is beautiful as well.
I would love to see an updated Apartment hunt in San Francisco after this pandemic haha I am sure it's a lot different.
Your brows look so goooood!
wow thank ya!
I've never heard someone say the word "solid" this many times in my life lol
Where is your necklace from? !
I guessed it was # 4 because it was the only one you didn't mention which neighborhood it was, also the old fashioned trick to kind of throw off the audience a flaw and because I watched your moving out video before this that was on my home page & it looked familiar xD
Ooooh I think apartments 3 and 4 were really nice (my guess was half right 😛) I'd be terrified to slip down those stairs coming out of #5's shower 😂 but yeah, having a decent roommate is REALLY important. Congrats on the new place and the doggo!
Shakira Stowers ugh thanks so much shakira you’ve been here for it through it allb
I live in lower Nob Hill and its not a great area, but my friend and I are thinking about getting a studio apartment here together instead of student housing.. finding apartments is so hard because nothings open :(
This is extremely useful! As I am now moving to SF. I actually prefer to live by myself. If you are still there, I would love to meet!
i just moved to new york from san francisco and watching this video made we want to cry! san francisco is the best little city
AWWWW omg but have so much fun in NYC!
Holy crap and I thought New York City was expensive!
I grew up in SF and then moved away in high school, but returned to the bay area for work after finishing school. It's crazy how so many professionals are living like back in the college days in SF because it's so expensive. SF is a wonderful city with lots to do, but the cost of living is absurd. But of course, for those who want that experience, it makes sense to live like this in the time being. I'm at an age where I just can't share space w/ anyone. So even though my rent is considerably high, at least I have the studio all to myself in a very nice neighborhood. I do miss SF though.
THE LAST ONE!!
Great videos and San Diego is so beautiful.
#3 would be the best choice. Find the way to kick the mate off. And that's all...
Your skin looks so good! 😊
thank you v much!!
I think you got #5!! I'll check back in
Also, would love to hear your breakdown of all the neighborhoods? :-)
How long did you search for?
Awesome review
Please start doing local secrets for things in SF. Anything ....bars, parks, shopping etc!
oooooh lemme start brainstorming!
THE FIRST APARTMENT HAD MY DREAM ROOM!!!
Wait are you sharing bathrooms and kitchen space with other random people?
i want to move to parkmerced by Lowell High School because the apartments seem really nice and surprisingly cheap for 3,000 dollars a month
If you're in pac heights check out b.patisserie!
I live in a small town in Wisconsin, and you can have your own two bedroom apartment for around $900. To think you are paying around $1400 is crazy 😳
Small town vs sophisticated San Francisco. You get what you pay for!
3 looks like the best option so i'll go with 3
Girl I’m trying to move there too !!! Wish me luck 💖
I'm moving to SF end of September too. All the best of luck!
Iss Tino omg good luck !!! It’s a beautiful city
Goodluck to you all
I'm gonna guess the last one. idk. It sounded like you liked the people, the room size, and the apartment layout.
It’s funny watching videos about hunting for apartments in San Francisco that are a year old. It’s kind of like watching the flashbacks to someone’s origin story on The Walking Dead.
