Selling tickets is hard enough, but losing $1,600 on tickets for Bruno Mars? That's basically unheard of, especially with how popular he is and how strong his resale can be as well. But if you don't make this single mistake I did...you should have nothing to worry about going forward.

You should have threatened to sue or go to corporate.
I had the same type of problem when I was owed insurance money from a fire. The mortgage company held it from me until I got it cleaned. Once they heard corporate I got the money.
Bro… I would have been absolutely livid. I really feel for ya. I had a similar situation with an Ebay vender. They sent me a malfunctioning professional drone. I sent it back and they claimed the serial numbers were different and that I’d pulled a switch. I’ve been with eBay both buying and selling for over two decades with a 100% rating. They locked my account indefinitely, AND I never got my money back, nor the drone. It pissed me off to no end. I’ve turned it over to my bank but who knows what will happen. I’ve lost around $1,300 😡
Ahh yikes!! That’s so ridiculous and yet stuff like this happens all the time unfortunately. Not to say we should have to put up with it but just all part of the process. Hope you can recover your funds!!

What I’m confused about is, did the buyer never pick the tickets up? And then complained?
Sad story whenever you lose money on an event but it happens to the best of us. Did the venue offer Stubhub last minute service as I tend to use that quite a bit for college and pro football. Just drop the hard copy tickets off at the desk and let Stubhub arrange everything works like a charm. I would think they have many locations on the strip for this service and most of the big casinos would have it set up sure beats will call anyway. We use this particularly in Washington DC for the Redskins game as we just have to worry about picking up tickets in the parking lot and then we just bring them to the desk to listing and selling. There is noting like the feeling when you lose money after traveling as it sure makes for a long trip home. This is not for the faint of heart but you try to learn from any mistake that you make and come to fight another day. anyway sure made for a great story on your channel
I had called them with the intention of doing just that, but they never offered it as an option unfortunately. I know with the Mayweather mcgregor fight I was able to use LMS back then with relative ease, not sure if they cut back on it during covid or what. Once the agent just gave me the contact info though I just thought I could run with it. Can’t win on every event as it is, but just stings when it was preventable. Ah well, live and learn. Onto the next one 😁
How did stubhub know that you hand delivered and therefore did not meet TOS? Tia

This might sound like a dumb thing to say, but did you ever try disputing the charge with your bank? I have Capital One and they're pretty good at siding with the customer over the merchant.
Technically the tickets were delivered by Ticketmaster (albeit not how I expected them to be) so I think I would have likely lost the chargeback claim. Also once you start making chargebacks against Ticketmaster, it’s possible to lose your entire account so that would be bad for all the other tickets I haven’t delivered yet 🤣
not your fault , call your bank they might have way to help if you have proof of ticket delivery
The issue wasn’t proof of delivery, but rather the delivery method itself. Stubhub doesn’t allow will-call or in person deliveries, even though they had suggested it as an option through a CSR
The admitted the rep was wrong they should’ve owned it. How can u do ups to send day of show. They made money off the seller and you these tickets were used flat out. The buyer went to show etc. did they credit them back? Ot did they keep buyer money?
So if I do this ticket business and the event is sending physical tickets, then it's best not to list the tickets for sale unless you have them in your hands first?
You can go ahead and list hard stock tickets before they arrive, but if they don’t show up in time/at all then you better be ready to find replacements or work with the exchange to find a suitable alternative means of delivering the seats. If you wait for the seats to arrive you may miss out on some price movement but you are taking away some of the risk of not receiving the tickets in time as well.

Entertaining story (though sucks you lost that money). Ever entertained heading to the casino to try to "recuperate" some of those loses? (though, granted, you could've ended up losing even more lol)

congratulations for being so successful in 2021, despite this learning lesson. To me, it seems like if Ticketmaster just sent you your physical tickets in time, none of this would have ever happened, correct? Could anything had been done to ensure Ticketmaster gets you your physical tickets in time next time? I am actually in the same boat and took a chance w bruno (front row tickets in March 2022), but I am very scared about waiting two weeks before the event to get the physical tickets. I don't know why Ticketmaster doesn't do mobile tickets for bruno, any reason? Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!!!!!
Correct, if I had the physical tickets all would have been fine. Some venues don’t release the tickets until a certain deadline and then others may not even ship them out at all if you’re not located in the same country as the event taking place, but they don’t always contact you when they do or do not ship them. Hopefully you receive yours in time 🤞🏽🤞🏽 I know a lot of people who did receive theirs so may have just been me 😭

I’m looking forward to The Weeknd finally announcing his updated tour, hopefully we see Taylor Swift announce her next tour, and I’m just pumped to finally be able to go see Trevor Noah perform. Had bought tickets to a show that was supposed to take place in 2020, but it’s been pushed back 2 years already. Really hope it actually happens. Have front row seats that I cannot wait to use 👀
I can't believe I may get double screwed w Bruno Mars like you. Bought in January 2022. Still have not received tix and show is in two weeks. TM said I can pick them up at will call. I replied and told them that since they are not fulfilling their obligation to send me the tix within 14 business days, I should get a refund. Not sure if they will do this. Anyway, if I am screwed and have to pick up at will call, will I still be able to sell them via stubhub? I know I can list them, but is there a way to notify the buyer that I will need to meet them at will call or somewhere? Any advice from your last situation will help greatly as I am out over $2K on this stupid move. Thank you!
Stubhub won’t accept a will call delivery so try to see if you can get your tickets delivered to you as mobile delivery. If yes, you should be able to access your tickets as mobile screenshots which you can then take screenshots of and send those.

Pearl Jam is a non transferable event so I would steer clear if you are unable to have a way to sell these seats. New York and Colorado are the only exceptions.

It was announced as part of the original tour news so just need to make sure you keep up to date 😁 they are historically anti Ticketmaster but they made a deal with them for this tour specifically to allow fan to fan resale at 0 markup on Ticketmaster so it’s all part of how they can get away with making the event non transferable. Best seats are GA pit, floor seating, and lower bowl closest to stage
Damn that sucks, but yeah that guy is long gone and they don’t care who said what, so you would’ve gotten paid if you physically handed the guy the tickets?
Technically no - the only way really would have been if I had basically shipped them, however that was done. Could it have maybe been shipped as an empty envelope and then hand delivered perhaps…👀👀 they just wanted their own services used and not have contact between buyer and seller for delivery

@@thumbsuprun I'm sure you have heard about Harry Styles announcement of his end of year tour. Tickets will certainly be hard to get. Would you suggest getting all floor tickets to simplify matters. Possible cost of roughly $400 with a simple 2-3x resale or do you prefer row 1 seats on the level just above floor? which city do you prefer? also, did you hear adele is getting closer to june/july, nov dates for zappos? i wonder if I choose to get in their "new" queue as an existing ticket holder w excellent seats, if I could actually get "worse" seats w this new theatre that is almost twice the capacity? any thoughts? thank you!
I’d just go for floor seats ideally for Harry styles, can’t go wrong either way though. As for Adele, I’m just curious to see how they deal with moving to the new venue and managing original ticket holders. Hope you’re able to end up with some great seats again!

@@thumbsuprun because I am having a few issues with buying some tickets to a local event and I cant tell the real deal vs scammers in my area until its too late. Its good getting your take on the business, I never think of the other side of the equation
Ah yeah it can be tough to assess tickets outside of an exchange, but there are certainly deals out there. If there is an established market somewhere though that should give you an idea of the going rate (though doesn’t always exist especially for smaller events)
