I booked Anvil once and the show bombed. I renegotiated the guarantee with the Agent over the phone and he never clarified it to the band, so they thought I was intentionally shorting them. So they tough guyed the owner of the venue and locked my friend in their van to try to intimidate us. So Anvil is really cool band if you wanted my opinion.

The story with the Dance of Death cover, apparently, is that the artist sent that to the band as like a proof of concept/rough layout kind of thing, just to show the direction he was going to go. Then the band was like "GREAT, SEND IT TO THE PRINTER" without understanding it wasn't the final piece. The artist, as far as I know, asked to not be credited for it
That is true, and in what may be one of the most notorious misdirections in metal history is that - despite the goofy album cover - Dance Of Death is actually a fantastic album. "Paschendale", "Montsegur", "Dance Of Death", "No More Lies", "Rainmaker", and "Gates Of Tomorrow" are all total jams, and "Journeyman" is a beautiful finale to close the album. It's just a shame that the album's cover art looks like a screenshot from Spy Kids.
The Sublime logo just became the first band to surpass Nirvana in most merchandise sold. Bradley bought that design from Opie the tattoo artist for $25 and now it's worth Millions.

Iron Maiden is one of my favorite bands and they had legendary amazing artwork on almost all their albums, so you can imagine my surprise when dance of death came out. I actually thought it was a joke, I was convinced that it wasn't a real album cover until I bought the album and I still can't believe they went through with putting that out. I want to know what was going through their heads. I'm glad you mentioned it because it's definitely probably the worst album cover of all time, the album isn't that bad, it's not one of their best, but it's definitely not as bad as the cover art.

I’m a big fan of artwork specially when I’m downloading music on my iPhone the artwork has to come with it. Something about late 90s/early 2000s artwork is not only nostalgic but iconic. Linkin Parks Hybrid Theory, Disturbeds The Sickness, Limp Bizkits Significant Other, Deftones with White Pony, Papa Roach with Infest and Godsmacks debut album in 98. Nu metal albums defiantly have iconic album covers even if some albums aren’t best you have to respect the art cause it tells stories

I love darkthrone! They’re probably the most influential band in the genre, and their album covers are some of the most iconic in the history of metal, across the board. My transilvanian hunger t shirt is easily my favorite piece of merch besides of course my Lady Gaga tank top
The Transilvanian cover is a bit over the top, I prefer Blaze in the Northen Sky's, much more subtle and creepy. Burzum's Hvis Lyset Tar Oss is another great one.

I’m not looking to dunk on your work or anything, it’s not like I have any of mine own to stand on, but this video felt like it fits better with your second channel. There wasn’t a whole lot of serious or factual, just zany and fun that was a bit heavy on the dunking. I expect that when I’m on the Finn McKenty channel, but I guess it just caught me off guard here. I suppose I was jonesing to talk some graphic design like you did on the interview with Ryan from Demon Hunter. That said, I did appreciate the talk about Cowboy’s From Hell lack of contrast through the sepia tones, the nods to deviantart during the used cover because I saw tons of that exact style there during my dial up internet days, and you putting respect on Mear One’s name. Also the album art tramp stamp is some very advanced stuff!

Best thing about the Sunbather artwork is that the colors are supposed to be like looking at the sun with you eyes closed. Not exact obviously, but I think it shows some cool thought behind the design.

There wasn’t a whole lot of serious or factual, just zany and fun that was a bit heavy on the dunking. I expect that when I’m on the Finn McKenty channel, but I guess it just caught me off guard here. I suppose I was jonesing to talk some graphic design like you did on the interview with Ryan from Demon Hunter.
That said, I did appreciate the talk about Cowboy’s From Hell lack of contrast through the sepia tones, the nods to deviantart during the used cover because I saw tons of that exact style there during my dial up internet days, and you putting respect on Mear One’s name. Also the album art tramp stamp is some very advanced stuff!
Don’t think my audience wants a serious talk about design fundamentals. And I’m also allowed to have fun sometimes. Not every video needs to be a dry summary of wikipedia
Best thing about the Sunbather artwork is that the colors are supposed to be like looking at the sun with you eyes closed. Not exact obviously, but I think it shows some cool thought behind the design.
