I think the "styles of converse and it's correlation to your music taste" will need an entire video 😂 High tops vs low tops, color, laces, sharpie, no sharpie, iron on patches, embroidery, old and tattered vs new... The list is complicated but Finn is the man for the job! Lol

As someone currently wearing Adidas, and never looked at shoes as a stereotype perspective, this was funny to me. Because I happen to apply to half of those things.
The only 9nes that I judge heavily are the pure white New Balance, corvette/old man shoes.
I own dozens of shell toes in various colors and I’m perfectly comfortable with hanging out in the B tier with Deftones forever.

I'm waiting for the Tier List Tier List video! Also have been wearing Chuck Taylors since the early 90's. Can't even remember the last time I wore anything else, except for my Doc Martins when I'm dressing up nice for church or something.
This is one of my favorite tier lists ever. I watched it with a coworker who is not into rock and metal culture and all and i described all of these people before Finn said anything. Especially the Bimbo Etnies, Airmax 90s and Doc Martins. I literately said “Bimbo surfer alt girl that puts out east” “Deathcore spin kicks” and “Liberal edgy art hoes” and my coworker was cracking up that I was nailing these before Finn said his opinion on them. It’s so funny how we all experience the same people doing the same actions across the country for the last 20 years.
I a NEED another shoe video with Toms, Supra, Osiris. But Toms for sure. Exclusively worn by 100lbs scene guys in skin tight jeans, ultra deep V neck with chest tattoo.
I only watch Finn for his commentary on fashion. It’s always top tier content. I couldn’t care less about his opinions on music. It’s all about the fashion and accessories for me.

you could do a whole tier list on vans alone, All black authentics are for people who are chill and nice on the outside but lowkey messed up and/or depressed inside, Mitch Lucker wore those. Slip on checkered vans are for stoners who dip their toes in every little area of being alt but never officially stick to one, they like some rock and metal but also listen to a lot of other things, they like anime, i see mainly girls wear those but guys do too. Sk8 hi's are the most basic of basic, pretty much everyone wears those. Burgundy authentics with the white soles and black laces were for kids who dabbled in like emo and rock in middle school but werent fully alt. when the Damn Daniel meme blew up in 2015 kids in my high school were wearing white slip ons all the time, now mainly teenagers/young adults from suburban neighborhoods who make themselves look like goody two shoes at church but are secretly douchebags wear them. Black authentics with white soles and laces are the most neutral of neutral, you cant really go wrong with those. the slip ons with flames on them were big for a minute, stoners and anime kids were in those. black authentics or eras with the brown soles are usually for skinny guys who are pretty chill at first but have a scary side to them. a lot of skaters wore black old skools with a part that was navy in the middle of the shoe. and finally, plain ol classic black old skools with the white stripe. everybody whos ever owned vans has worn those at least once.

As an ex-skater from my early teens (mid 90's), DC and Etnies, regardless of model, definitely tick every single 'comfort' box. Whether skating or in the pit. Although the DC Clocker [1] was my fave. Got me through highschool.

Unbranded black shoes? Yes, my life had gone wrong and I had to take those as a donation. Those black shoes were extra large for my feet and had straps. It was fun to wear with tighter fits, mixing it with a more Scene aesthetic

5 months late to this, but as someone who currently owns 8 different pairs of Vans authentics, owned the OG Air Max (black/cream/lava of course) in 1990 (5th grade), and absolutely abhors Chelsea boots, this speaks to my soul. Thank you, sir.

I'm not ashamed to admit the fact that most of the sneakers I own are from Sketchers. My mom works at Sketchers so I get them for great prices. They are also the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. You can roast me if you want.

Those Osiris G3 OG's are sick, though!! I had 3 or 4 pairs of Etnies, too, one after the other and i loved them, and 2 pairs of Sk8 Hi tops. Still one of my favorite shoes in general

I sell running shoes so here’s my lecture. Wear running shoes. All other shoes have zero cushion and support. In my teens and 20s I could wear whatever, but mild injuries have forced me to put orthotics in my boots, chucks and dress shoes for my other job. Or just wear running shoes all the time (130$-170$) and you’ll have way less problems. It’s cheaper than long term doctor bills. I can’t even wear my chucks to concerts anymore, I have to wear my running shoes for moshing, 2 stepping . Take care of your feet

Maybe if I could find high-top running shoes that were decent.
Though, most running shows to not provide effective ankle support.
I have had knee/ankle pain since I was 6 and flat feet - I have to add padding to EVERYTHING.
Which, can be a good thing or a bad thing.
Especially, with all the health issues I have contract this past decade - including osteoarthritis.
I can’t add padding to my running shoes - because then it causes my foot to be raised up, unbalanced, and not fully supported by the shoe.
However, they aren’t comfortable without added padding.
I am that very problem with my New Balances, as I type this - which, is why I am on the hunt for a good, high-top gym shoe; and my New Balances have become my yard shoes.
Which, I have super flat feet, too - so, I need something without arch support, yet, with ankle support.
I am about to send back a pair of NoBull shoes, which, we’re not comfortable at all, I couldn’t add pads in, and had glue sloppily applied.
Paid $160 for ‘em, too.
Ridiculous.
I have attempted to find a good weight-lifting shoe, also, to no avail.
It’s frustrating, also, being I get severe edema in my ankles, due to contracting heavy metal toxicity, from excessive exposure to barium contrast used in CT scans (not gonna lie, I find it hilarious I am an obsessive heavy metal music fan and contracted heavy metal toxicity, as a disease. Ooooh, the IRONy)..
So, I need high-tops with decent support, yet, I can leave open from time to time.
The shoes that are the most comfortable for me have been the snip-toe cowboy boots I just bought.
I added padding to ‘em, ‘cause they came with nothing, at all - and they are sooo comfortable, now.
And they even fit around my swollen ankles.
I had a pair of Ugg snow boots, which, provided great support. If they didn’t have fur in ‘em, I’d just use those for the gym, at this point, being I am so frustrated.
I did buy a pair of steel-toed boots, which, are rather comfortable - though, I got my cowboy boots to replace ‘em, being I got sick of having to lace/unlace ‘em.
If they weren’t so heavy, I’d just wear those to the gym.
One day, man - I’m gonna design shoes.
This has been a lifelong battle for me, and I am so over it - especially, because I have such wife feet, and most shoes don’t come in wide.
And getting ‘em bigger/longer to fit my wide food, makes me look like a freakin’ clown, half the time.
So dumb.

@@XOChristianaNicole I’m very sorry to hear your problems. We help walkers, runners, everyday people who stand at work for injuries all the time. You did the right thing trying max cushion (160$ ish). Try going to a local running store to get fit .
1.) get the category right. Neutral is for high arches …you want support for flat feet
2.) for major injuries, go with max cushion. Bring your orthotics with you to get the fit right in the store.
3.) We sell TONS of wides. They do exist. It’s a matter of seeing the right selection at a running store.
4.) lacing techniques can prevent slipping when people have orthotics…try the lock lace (it’s on you tube )
5.) shoe recommendations (All these come in wide D and some in Extra wide 2E)…Hoka Gaviota 4, new balance Vongo 5
Brooks glycerin GTS 20, ASICS Gel Kayano 29, saucony tempus, mizuno wave horizon 6. Two excellent roomy medium cushion shoes for you that come in Womens 2E Extra Wide=new balance 860 v13 and Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22
*if you are a size Womens 9/9.5 or bigger, you can fit into men’s shoes which will give you even MORE width.
It’s a size and a half difference. Womens 9.5 is Mens 8.
…Men’s reg width D is equal to women’s wide d.
Men’s wide 2E is equal to women’s extra wide
Men’s extra wide 4E is the widest you’ll probably see out there for most shoes.
I’ve sold hundreds of men’s wides to women for years.
Hope this helps! Orthotics are very helpful with injury (super feet or power step)
All my female friends wear the doc marten boots, all of emm and they definitely have septum piercings too lol spot on there! I personally wear black timberland boots I think it’s a nice more tame version of black spiked boots

Adidas makes a fantastic running shoe (ultraboost and pureboost) as well as a pretty good skate shoe (busenitz). I actually prefer these over any Nike running shoe or Janoski

Those Addias will always remind me of Run DMC. That was their signature shoe. In terms of the Docs, back in the 80's the only people I saw wearing those were punks, goths, rude boys/girls. They used to represent something back then. But now they represent pop culture and everyone and their grandma has a pair. I still have a pair but in my own little reality they are still representing the style I grew up with.
