  • Element saved my Mustang! Track day was brought to a sudden halt as my car caught on fire. Luckily I keep my Element Extinguisher handy with a roll bar mount and was able to quickly access it and put out the fire. "that bulky canister" suppressed the fire (on the back and right side of the car) in just a few seconds, less than it took from you to start your toy :)

The toy is nice for being compact and reaching deep inside I guess...

This, you can clearly see that the other fire extinguisher had already put everything out in a flash except the part where they didn't actually spray it, and it took him 10 solid seconds of spraying to put that small part out. If he didn't get in the way the guy with the second fire extinguisher could have easily stuck the hose exactly in the same place he's holding his little toy and got the job done in 1 second.
"Most traditional extinguishers would be empty by now"
Yeah but most traditional extinguishers would also have put the fire out by now...
Only reason I see these being useful is that they're really small so more likely for people to actually keep in their car.

Yeah, it takes longer to get out of a track car than your Prius

Luckily, it has a much longer run time than a standard extinguisher!

The issue is how close you have to be vs. a traditional fire extinguisher. I have an Element BTW.

@@williamli8708 Good idea. Better yet, a steel baton or night stick could double as a self defence weapon that fits in the car (often needed because typical civilians can't own guns in our country and we need a way to fend off the 50+ car thefts per day in our area).

I just got a build done a few months ago and have been meaning to get an extinguisher.
Well, i saw a post in an owners group titled : they said i was silly for carrying an extinguisher, with a pic of him fogging down the engine bay.
Saved major damage ,thats for sure.
I saw that, and couldn't order one fast enough.

So he had the fire mostly out before you used yours. Not a great test.

Have a closer look, the powder extinguisher could not access the fire the way the gas from the Element could and did almost nothing (outside of making a big mess). The fire was still burning quite steadily once the Element got on the scene and it totally extinguished the blaze. In fire fighting there are no points for 'mostly' out :)

It works, but not the same way as people are used to from seeing regular extinguishers. But it’s clean and ok around electronics, unlike the regular white mess. And it takes up very little room for tight places. Having multiple of these is a plus. What is your car worth to you and your insurance company? The same$$$?

Peope need to realize u should create a stick or pole to stick the element in to extend it at least 2 to 3 feet this would help keep u safe as well if u need to get closer to thr source of flame... Something i would do carry thr element snd a 2 ft light weight plastic made pvc or some sort
