Brother, I was a firefighter in Miami for 20 years. The only extinguisher I would put in my car is the type you tested, a halotron type. I have a Chrome model in my C8 Corvette. Not only is it EXTREMELY effective, it is super clean. This is the type of extinguisher used in mainframe computer rooms as it leaves no residue.
One of the best halotron demonstration videos out there in a real life scenario. Even better considering these 2.5 pound units have a 2BC UL rating which is really low compared to your same size 2.5 pound ABC which has a 1A 10BC rating (five times higher). The smallest auto fire extinguisher you can get at a retail store is smaller than that, uses BC powder and carries a 2BC rating. What makes it even better still, is halotron doesn’t carry an A rating and it still took care of the burning wood.
Was about to order a 2nd element for my daily. These back to back videos are clear enough to throw my supras element away, and put some real extinguishers in my cars.
I've only got one in my glove box, as others have said one Element lasts as long as a larger size of a typical extinguisher and is as good. I have a 87 targa.
Long and short of it: these are rebranded Amerex fire extinguishers that are UL tested and listed to fire extinguisher performance standards. Those Elements, look like road flares. Do they carry a UL listing to show that they’ve been independently tested and meet standards? No.
I never tested the maxed out. The clean agent did the job so I didn’t see the need to test the other. My recommendation would be to go with the clean agent for your car, go forbid you have to use it, it will not cause corrosion or need to be cleaned up after.
Since cars get crazy hot on the inside during the summer, is it really all that safe to store these that way. Seems like a great unit, but Im concerned
@@jtravel80 I have the 2.5 halguard (same as tested in the video) Use this link to get 10% off when you buy. h3rperformance.refr.cc/referral-program/u/andrewharootunian
@@theperformancereviewchannel Thanks for the code! Ive been meaning to get one for several months now. I already have the passenger seat mount, which is nice

I have one of these in the RX7!
Well now you know it will work lol.
Thanks for these reviews
Where is it made? I cant find it on their website. Looks like they have a background in aviation tho.
Link is in the description
These are rebranded Amerex extinguishers. Made in USA and top quality.
So did you test the maxout extinguisher? In the end which model would you recommend for an exotic car?
Definitely the clean agent. You don’t want to use that ABC under the hood.

I’ve had mine in my black car all summer with no issue. Hasn’t lost charge or exploded lol.
@@theperformancereviewchannel Oh good. Im not necessarily paranoid, its just something that crossed my mind. Which model extinguisher did you get?

Now you have a real fire extinguisher. Those fire sticks from last year suck.
