- This is a walk through of 2.3 ecoboost swapping a foxbody mustang, This car is kinda rough and has been through the ringer in the past 30 years some of those years taking abuse from me learning things as I went as this was my first car back in high school 13-14 years ago.
2.3 Ecoboost from an S550
Ford Performance Ecoboost control pack
AJE k member with their back then prototype motor mounts for this engin
WC 4cyl T5 with SBF adapter plate
Custom Aluminum flywheel from Ram clutches
stock design 10.5" clutch stage 2 advance auto special
Cobb accessport tuner
Foxbody
Sn95
New edge
fox 4 chassis
This is probably the single most informational video about ecoboost swaps in foxbodies on RUclips
happy to help with anyone else doing the swap
Thanks
You're actually using the 4 cylinder T5 with this setup? Are you also using the stock 7.5 rear end? I have a 4 cylinder fox and wanting to do an ecoboost swap.
It's the WC t5 from a turbo coupe and no the car has a 8.8 in it. I really don't think a 7.5 could take the power.
@@svofanatic3642 ahh, okay. I have a 8.8 rear end that intend to install. Guess I need to look at transmissions. I'm sure the 4 cylinder T5 would melt with that ecoboost
Do you have any videos of it running and how it drives? I am thinking about doing this to my 1967 mustang. it has a 302 in now but it's slow compared to my 3.5 ecoboost in my truck.
Hey man , I really find this swap very cool . Is the block stock ? Planning on forging or more HP down the road ?
I got one and I’m planning on eventually to forge it and get it around 6ish to 7 to the wheels . I’m sure the weight definitely helps
@@CoyoteDAworld yea it's stock for now end goal is 600wtrq
Do you still make the caliper bracket for the brakes ?and where can i get a set ?
Why not run the factory 6 speed manual transmission comes behind 2.3 eco boost mustang
Cost is the largest factor. $1500 trans, custom cross member/aftermarket cross member, ecoboost clutches/flywheels are expensive $1k, Custom driveshaft, no speedo. I'd have spent as much to get an mt-82 in the car as I had for just the motor swap and if I'm spending that much coin I'd rather have a t-56XL.
You mentioned a sbf transmission adapter . If you didn’t use the edslinger kit, what did you use ? I’m trying to get everything on a budget as well
The only option is the esslinger one right now. The one I have was before theirs was on the market. It was someone from the ford ranger forums who had a drag truck. Esslinger is what you should use now.
Hey does your intake manifold touch your brake booster??
It doesn't but it is close
I’d throw a 10 speed auto in it. If you can find a crashed pull out for cheap
Quick question what did u do to the firewall flange to make it clear the high pressure fuel pump on the engine??
Manual clearance with your choice of bludgeoning device. It only needed to move about 1/4 of an in to clear enough.
@@svofanatic3642 ok cool thanks. Last 2 questions. Im using the 6R80 transmission what type of drive shaft did u use and radiator?? I know ur running a manual tranny
@@musclecargarage8882 I just had a custom steel one made. I have a champion 2 row radiator been using it for years I did have to modify the cap because of the pressurized coolant bottle but that’s it.
@@svofanatic3642 cool thanks again. Doing this swap on my 92 coupe
@@musclecargarage8882 no problem happy to answer any questions about it
Hi what did u use for your intake and for the air temp sensor?? I see ur not using the stock intake box
intake is just a piece of aluminum pipe with a filter on the end. IAT is on the bottom with a fitting it's pushed into.
@svofanatic3642 ok thanks
Did you remove the factory vacuum pump?
Negative used it to run the brake booster
Where did you buy your transmission adapter from?
It was a custom one but you can now buy one from esslinger
What size kenda are you running in the rear and what rim size?
275’s 10.5 or 11 I don’t remember off the top of my head
