    Ford would never do an Ecoboost V6 mustang because they KNOW it would tick off all the stock Coyote boys when they get their butts handed to them by a V6.

Putting a few turbos, playing with the fuel map and timing. They absolutely could do it. Only reason they wont is because of the rnd it would take to get it to follow emissions wouldnt be seen as worth it to them with their new ev mustang line and all the time and money invested in that and their other eco boost engines.
      Edit: but slapping turbos on an older coyote and registering in a non emissions county is always an option 😁

      man i just bought a 21 gt 10 speed premium, and i agree to the fullest extent...the 3.5 might not sound as good as the 5.0, but with a tune, and bolt ons, it would make the both the 2.3 ecobosst, and even the 5.0 look like blasts from the past ....a 3.5 ecoboost would not only eat 5.0 sales, but it would also outshine most of these m3's and q50's aswell given how popular stangs are by default...the 2.3 has potential, but would never sound as good or even out perform the 3.5tt stock for stock and the buzzy i4 exhaust note alone is what drives alot of stang fans in the opposite direction..it's similar with how dodge never upgraded the 5.7 with more hp so 392 sales would not be harmed, and also the reason why vw never armed the gli's and jettas with the infamous i5 turbo so it wouldn't harm audi's sales...marketing overall sucks to say the least..

      DC Garage that figure seems to be the constant when anyone seems to transplant any other motor into a Mustang. I have an early S197 3 valve with full bolt ons that I would like to maybe do a coyote swap later. But it seems cost effective to just work my motor out to where I’d want it. • @ardyshane23
      @ardyshane23 7 лет назад

      Drake5153 and it prolongs the life of these ecoboost motors that almost always die because of the crap build up on the intake valves. Way to go ford releasing a broken motor. Don't worry they fixed it for 2017. All the rest of you are screwed.

    • @Drake5153
      @Drake5153 7 лет назад +1

      Shane P lol theres only a problem if you drive it like a grandma for most of its life. if your not afraid of your truck and the gas pedal you probably won't have an issue, and they probably missed it because of they were more concerned with people abusing the engines than babying them like the marketing team suggested. marketing, not the product is an issue. that and people trying to fix it theirselfs lol

    • @ardyshane23
      @ardyshane23 7 лет назад

      Drake5153 Makes me laugh how few people seem to know about the problems when Ford service records prove otherwise. Direct injection has been a big problem for others (BMW) too. Every single eco boost motor up until 2017 will fail due to a build up on the intake valves. Ford is aware of this. The two things they do to repair is replace the head entirely or blast the intake valves with almond shell (I think that's what it is) to clean them. Either way the motors often don't see 100,000 miles. How you drive does matter slightly as the harder you drive the motor the more blow by you will have. Blow by is the enemy. An oil catch can helps lesson the problem. The new ecoboosts have a new set of injectors to clean off the valves. Which is how Toyota handles the inherent problem with direct injection. I know people who were sponsored by ford and in the race cars we dealt with this constantly. Stock motors mind you. Hey take your chances all you want. Just know when yours goes bad, I told you so.

      As stated in the video, it's really more of a corner carver but I did take it to the strip once. I only did 3 passes though and one of them was a low 13 thanks to a lot of wheel spin on the launch (on Hankook summer tires, so nothing special there). The other two times were around 12.5 IIRC. I'm sure it could go faster with a bit more practice and a better tire, but that's not really the focus of the build. I may take it back to the strip for a bit of testing once I get back on the road though.
