    I've owned my 2015 V6 Auto for 8.61 years as of today (7.1.23) and have right at 43,200 miles on it. It's the Automatic but I use "S" mode and initiate every single up and down shift. The last time the transmission shifted for me was probably several years ago. I find the engine to have just enough torque, just enough revs, and just the right gearing vs. weight vs. road speed. Nice sound, and the transmission never disappoints me.
    I am on my third set of tires on it. Originally it had the 235/50-18s and I found them ponderous. Next round I went with 235/45-18s (can't remember the brand / type). Recently I moved to 235/40-18s with the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s, and the car just handles very nicely for a big car. Yes, my speedometer reads a little higher than reality, but I also reduced unsprung weight just a bit, reduced sidewall flex, and lowered the effective gearing just a tad. The car also sits just about an inch lower. The ride is still great, and the wheel wells are still filled out nicely from an appearance standpoint.
    Low points would be the barebones interior and the lackluster audio (compared to my last two cars, a 2007 Civic Si and a 2012 Scion FR-S, both of which had far clearer and fuller audio). I find the seats and driving position decent enough although I tend to have the seat up as high as it will go.
    Only modification I've made other than the tires has been to paint the hood matte black. I did this not to make it look like a carbon fiber hood but to remove a distracting glare / sun glint coming off the rightside crease in the hood and blinding me. It worked.
    It hasn't all been perfect. The AC went out in 2018, and Ford wanted a shocking $2400 to fix it. I bought a thirty dollar can of AC Pro in 2019 and it has been blowing cold for four years now. Had the brake light actuator stopper disintegrate, replaced with small neodymium magnets (there's a recall on this item now but when it happened to me Ford wanted $700 to fix it!). Also had the door latch issue occur, which was fixed under recall right in my driveway by the traveling Ford dealership mechanic! Also had the rear camera die, also replaced under recall. Other than that, NO PROBLEMS. The engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, frame, and all other electronic and interior elements are rock solid.

    • @niveketihw1897
      @niveketihw1897 Год назад

      Of the three new cars I've owned, my dream combo would be the chassis / body / mechanicals of the FR-S, the interior / audio / controls of the Civic Si, and the 3.7 liter V6 and transmission of the Mustang.

I just found out that the water pump is internal to the engine and will cost about $1800 for parts and labor to replace it. According to what I've read, vehicles with the 3.7L V6 which have FRONT WHEEL DRIVE do have the internal water pump (it sits in the V, under the manifold). The rear wheel drive 3.7L V6, which is the mustangs, have a water pump that is bolted onto the outside of the engine. It has to do with whether the engine and transmission is mounted laterally, or longitudinally.

    I have a 2015 3.7 V6 Mustang and I love the performance. When I go for a drive its usually the length of Nova Scotia from Yarmouth to Sydney on Cape Breton Island. I do highway trips, rather than short hops like work to home, this is where this engine truly shines, at least in my opinion. I should not admit this but I've rocketed by some 5L Mustangs in my travels. its a great engine that puts out more power than the V8 did in the late 1990's and early 2000's. It's a shame that Ford wanted to push the 4 by taking away the V6. While I cruse rather quickly I never slam down and abuse the engine. I'm also fussy about oil changes as I love my car. In my experience Mustangs are one of the strongest cars on the road. My home province is surrounded by ocean water and roads are salty in winter, even with this I see lots of 25 year old Mustangs on the highway.

I was at the Ford dealership a few days ago and the sales man said no one wants to buy them they want the V8 but some wished Ford would still have the 3.7 I told him that Ford will find out they made a mistake and the 3.7 will come back and probably with a twin turbo package, I hope they do. The new Ecoboost prices are the same as a GT Mustang so the only people buying the Ecoboost is for the fuel economy but the ones who want a Muscle Car they go for the GT basic V8 or all out for the GT Premium V8 which I seen a 2018 And Ford Dealership wanted $50,000 for it but it was NICE

    There is only a 5 hp difference from 11-14 to the 15 and up 3.7’s (305 vs 300), this was mostly a marketing gimmick by Ford to sell more 4 cylinder ecoboosts because Ford knew they were dropping the v6, as you mentioned the 3.7 makes more hp with 93 octane, the ecoboost was marketed with 310 hp based and 320 tq off 93 octane, that same car only makes 275 hp on 87 and 300 tq, so the v6 even in 15’ with 87 octane outperforms the ecoboost and most people don’t exclusively use 93 like myself. Huge difference there and that’s why I agree the v6 was a better car for the base and more reliable. It will be back most likely in the form of a 2.7 Ecoboost it’s just a matter of time

    • @pepsiman2156
      @pepsiman2156 3 года назад

      The 305 hp rating is on 93, ford even says so in all their literature, but yes the 5hp drop was a slight change in the intakes and maybe a slight change in tuning plus, as you say they wanted the 4banger eco to become more popular to meet the stiffer EPA fuel mileage average requirements, thus the 3 cyl eco engine in the focus and fiesta etc, trying to boost overall average of fuel economy!

He laughed when he revealed that the European buyers went 80% for the V8. My first vehicle, a 1993 Ford Ranger, 2WD, 5 speed manual 4 cylinder, had the 85 mph speedo with the 55mph mark highlighted. Made a good conversation piece, for the younger generation who is used to seeing 120, 140 and 160 mph speedo. For those younger folks wondering about the 85 mph speedo, that was also a Federal regulation, in an attempt to get drivers to slow down and conserve fuel, during the energy crisis, gas lines and stagflation of the 70s

      It’s some American muscle video out there, but the reason behind it is Bc the car was supposed to be a fuel economy/power, so the hp and torque numbers presented to public were for 87 octane, however the fuel maps are adaptive and are mapped for 87,89, and 93, the car will advance timing when it reads a higher octane, it’s nothing crazy that you’ll actually feel and you’ll still be better off with a tune, but it’s neat that it’s there

      Jay Ochs I think they dropped the 3.7 in favor of the 4 cylinder because it is cheaper to manufacture. Plus the 3.7 comes with a forged crank whereas the 4 banger is cast, so power production will limit warranty issues. If you break a crank on the 4 banger Ford will know you were pushing the motor with too much boost etc but with the 3.7 you could easily push 500@ the crank without the motor blowing. I could see them dropping the 3.5 in the Stang in preference to a turbo 3.7 because the direct injection will limit fuel output and thereby limiting max power output. As far as I know nobody makes injector upgrades for the 3.5eb. I'm currently swapping a fwd edge 3.7 mated to an mt82 in my rx7. I think the fwd heads are the same as 3.5eb heads as they have uncut direct injection bungs and the 3.5 EB turbo manifolds look like they'll bolt up with some mild drilling and tapping.

      Faig Masimov the factory tune is the stock tune. So from the factory, just putting 93 octane in adds about 8 rwhp = 10 hp at the engine

      The 3.7 is the same motor as the 3.5 ecoboost. It’s a ford motor. Duratec was the name back in the day

    I just got a 2012 v6 with the performance package to be a cheap yet fun car while I save for a GT but it's been a very fun car to drive. The the upgraded suspension and brakes from the GT makes it handle pretty good on curvy roads

    These things truly are baby coyotes. They make retarded amounts of horsepower on low boost like 5/7 lbs makes 480/540+ hp to the wheels... Thats insanity! Auto mafia racing has all the proof you need about what i just said

    Got the 3.7L v6 engine for my transit 350 van it's not fast lol.. has enough power to move the weight of the van and occupants while getting great MPGs rather then a v8 engine

    Still prefer V6 over 4cyl ecoboost. The ecoboost engine sounds good, but unraspy enough just like V6 and V8.
