Thomas EXOVCDS thx mate, I don’t know what route to take yet regarding presenting the work/vídeos that I do as I only started in January but we will see thx for the support I appreciate it 👍 i hope everything goes well with your trip to Germany if you end up in uk for some reason gives a shout ...! Cheers
Hi Hope you have flushed and filled the system with new water and antifreeze... that old one was not looking good!.... Nice one by the way... Thank you for sharing!
hey man, indeed it was horrible but i flushed the system and filled with new antifreeze that's coming up in the next video ... thx for watching P.S. Waiting for my LMAR T shirt where is it ?
Very informative and well edited. Narration very helpful. Looks awfully similar to the 1.8 in my 94 passat. Thanks for boosting my confidence that I can fo it in th parking lot✌️
As a professional VW mechanic who first turned a wrench on VWs back in 1968 (I'm old now) I would recommend that if you are in this far, replace every hose while you are at it. I'm in the States so it would add about $50 to the price, but on a car this old do you really want to take the chance of having to do all this again? Several of the hoses can't easily be reached without taking out the A/C compressor and alternator. When I was still working at my shop I always offered the customer this choice and most agreed. Never be cheap; always do the job just once.
Thnx for your video! I did this job today. Step by step according to your instructions. However; after refilling the system with 2 litre cooling liquid and starting it up and filling it with a 3th litre, the overflow started working and also some leakage from the flens on top of the engine.. Is it possible I put the multi belt wrong so the water pump doesn't work?? The belt is running smooth. Added: i transferred the two O rings from the cooling flens to the new one flens. Problem fixed.
Hello i had same trouble today ! Its a MK4 convertible 2.0 ( year 2000) . The parts look like same. Please have you the oem référence of the two parts ( pump and carlostat) thanks !
I've looked at a bunch of Golf water pump replacement videos but this one was the best and most complete - and best matched the configuration of the transplanted engine in my Vanagon T3 :) . In my engine I'm replacing the water pump but keeping the thermostat housing. Wonder if I should replace the O-ring on the thermostat housing where it mates to the block? Looks OK but don't know if I need a fresh one with each removal/installation cycle...
Hi Steve i replaced the water pump with a new one which came with a new rubber seal that you have to insert into the water pump cavity, then is bolted to the block if you haven’t got a new seal I would highly recommend changing it they often get compressed and brittle with all the heat cycles... Regarding the thermostat housing, it’s bolted to the water pump and what keeps it water tight is the thermostat itself, the top of the thermostat is covered by rubber which seals the two.I hope it helps ... 👍
Abrazo
Not too difficult I haven’t filmed changing one but my friend Thomas EXOVCDS has, check it out.... hope it helps cheers 👍 ruclips.net/video/ija8KL19lzk/видео.html
Spartan195X thanks mate, this one is right in middle of the transition some people even call it mk3.5, but I thought the platform is A3 if I’m not mistaken cheers 👍👍👍
Well funny enough it had an intermittent crank no start issue, later on day I discovered the Cambelt tensioner pulley was seized up and it jumped a teeth or two, I replaced the tensioner + belt and it sounded a lot better after that 👍
Quite the video production... nice job!

Hi dude what size was the v belt because I got one for my car but it was smaller and I couldn't fit it around the power steering and water pump
No idea about the size sorry
@@CarsExposed No worries dude
Excellent info!
how to replace manual transmission bushing ?
Not too difficult I haven’t filmed changing one but my friend Thomas EXOVCDS has, check it out.... hope it helps cheers 👍 ruclips.net/video/ija8KL19lzk/видео.html
there goes my plans to diy.
Wish you would’ve put it back together because we have no torque specs??
Would this be similar to the older 1.6?
I’m not 100% sure but I believe it’s different, in the 1.6 the water pump it’s run by the timing belt .
he modern one yes, I have a mk2, I've seen picture of the water pump and it looks like the MK3's
Raging Bull ah ok the mk2 will be very very similar 👍
👍
That's an mk4 not an mk3. Well okay, it's pretty much the same engine. Thanks for the video It was really helpfull. The only one well made!
Spartan195X thanks mate, this one is right in middle of the transition some people even call it mk3.5, but I thought the platform is A3 if I’m not mistaken cheers 👍👍👍
Thats a g4cab, that mean its basically an mk3 with face swap with the mk4
In term of mecanic its the same
Thanks mate I appreciate it 👍👍👍
@@CarsExposed np men !
Great vid, but that is mk4
Almir Delic 👍👍👍
All this for a waterpump? Gee they make it hard. But well done
Not the easiest but not to bad when you get going 😊... cheers mate 👍👍👍
The car was knocking quite badly
Well funny enough it had an intermittent crank no start issue, later on day I discovered the Cambelt tensioner pulley was seized up and it jumped a teeth or two, I replaced the tensioner + belt and it sounded a lot better after that 👍
That's nice. You should invest in a BMW they are a lot more sleek and look nice when made to their full extent
Estavon Serratn that was my friend’s VW Golf, I actually have Mini Cooper S R53 made by BMW 😁 check it out 👉ruclips.net/video/X3fckTXL6RM/видео.html
