Usually these types of laptops have the same kind of stick RAM used in desktop, at least in my experience. It's really easy to pop off the bottom panel and upgrade your RAM with gaming laptops.

My main problem with my pc is that after it boots up, it takes ages to load apps up. Also if i dont use an external SSD my pc boots up and is in an infinite bootup screen for some unknown reason. My specs are: Ram: 16GB DDR4 Gpu: Nvidia geforce gtx 980 Cpu: intel core i7-5820k 3.30GHz Storage: TOSHIBA DT01ACA200 1.81Tb and an external SanDisk Extreme 55AE SCSI Disk Device. Also it is worth mentioning that this is in a prebuilt Alienware Area 51 r2 pc bought back in like 2017 or 2018. I dont know what motherboard i have, nor do i know how to check it, but has 4 ram slots all filled in with 4Gb each, and it can have 3 Gpu’s installed.

It's a laptop, therefore it has all mobile versions of desktop components. That GPU will perform like last gen hardware. The Intel i5 is again, a mobile CPU and cannot perform like a desktop i5, otherwise it would require a massive heat sink to keep it cool, and there is not enough airflow to keep the fans from ramping up during gameplay. You can find a better desktop PC at a cheaper price. Really, you can.

Ive been looking at laptops lately and while im fairly knowledgeable on desktops im not on laptops. One thing ive noticed is don't assume its a good laptop because its 8 cores. Most sellers are more than happy to tell you its 8 cores but thats not the full story because some of those 8 core CPUs are only 2 performance cores, 6 efficiency cores and like this one is 4 performance cores 4 efficiency cores. Now i haven't seen testing of these models that are only 2 performance cores but im highly suspect that they will under perform.
the 4800mhz ddr5 stick you bought will most probally work fine on 5200mhz. recently i bought 16gb ddr4 2100mhz and it runs 3000mhz without a problem.
Crazy it comes with 8GB RAM.. My Asus Rog Ally X handheld pc has 3x that amount of RAM.
Thats why if im buying ram and laptop like that i double check the specs on the site buying from as well as every other site i can find them on
Perfect for dual pc steaming setup
This is the nitro V not nitro 5. The nitro 5 actually has better cooling and runs at a higher TDP 95 Watts vs 65.
V means 5
I just can't buy another gaming laptop ever. The value when compared to a desktop is a joke.
i snagged a legion slim 5 16 inch rtx 4060 . ryzen 7 8th gen for 800 , 2k display 165 hz 16 gb ram 1tb of SSD space in the uk equivalent of micro centre . i purchased it and ran like i stole it . because defo a steal of a life time price wise
Got myself a Lenovo Ideapad 3. Slapped 32gb ram and some ssd's in it. Best decision i've made yet (gaming wise). Can run a lot of stuff on high/med on most games.
Will probably end up switching to a pc when this dies but i feel like it'll be a while before that happens. Bought it nearly 2 years ago and still runs well.
got 1 6 years ago they are tough. (floor model) they drink beer too. :) just bought a new one of above mentioned 16gb ram 3050 though.
Thought Lenovo LOQ more popular. Acers tend to have mosfet problems after a year ,maybe these new ones not.
I got the i7 with an RTX 4060 👌
I bought this one with 3 differences, mine had a 6gb rtx 3050 and 16 gb ram, but it's no Lambo, I knew that ,$550 at staples.
I would never buy a laptop for gaming with only 8GB and only an RTX 4050. The minimum you will need for gaming is 16GB and an RTX 3070 or 4060.
if the ram is upgradable, why don't u just buy a new 2 stick kit to make it identical 🤔
seem previous obvious to me. 2x16 would be great for a on the road machine.
I bought the Nitro V i5 and Nitro V 15 i9. I just got my son and I each a Meta Quest 3 and we want to play No Man’s Sky and Squadrons, among others. I’m tech illiterate. Will either of these function for PCVR with the Quest 3? The i9 seems pretty legit, but I know nothing about any of this but my son loves it and I want to support his interest. Please point me in the right direction. Need to return one or both if this won’t work. Thanks!
I have this one and works great I upgraded to 32GB of dual channel though
Also put Nobara OS on it cause F windows and its like perfect
The RTX 4050 Mobile is as fast as a GTX 1070 . ^^
I’ll keep my Asus Zypherus G16 with upgraded 48 GB RAM, and it’s a beast!
I have an acer nitro5 amazing!!! I got the 1650 model and at some point I'm gonna get the newer model.
i picked one of these up last month on fb market place for $350 barely used very nice gaming laptop.
I would go with the legion go it has 16GB ram with upgrades down the road it can play any game pass game black ops 6 very well
I bought this last month except mine came with the 16. Your thoughts on me doubling it to 32? I paid $750 at bestbuy for it. Came with an international warranty which is nice since I am in southeast asia much of my time.
u can get better Proformance if u connect it to an external monitor
Most laptops use Optimus now, so no that’s not really a thing anymore as long as your laptop is set to “dedicated gpu only” which if you’re gaming is a no brainer
Great laptop but Nvidia 50 series is coming out Feb 2025. Meaning the 4050 may not perform too great for much longer. Mainly once games start to take advantage of the 50 series GPU lineup
Its so funny how we all changed to Ghz, for cpu/gpu, but on memory were going to talk thousands of Mhz!?😂 That memory is clocked at a whopping 4,7Ghz son, now all of a sudden thats a impressive number right? Its clocked faster then most cpu/gpu.
Damn just bought this but sending it back as i now find out to many people buying it 😢
Carin Leon of Gaming
getting this soon
So the ram upgrade did next to nothing. You’re only going to see a difference if the RAM was maxed out- which it never was.
I am looking to buy a gaming laptop. I have never built/bought any computer, PC or laptop, with Intel or Nvidia. (I take that back. The first PC I built back in 1997 or 8 had a Cyrix 166Mhz CPU (Talk about blazing fast at that time). I had an ATI All-In-Wonder GPU though). Yes, I'm an AMD fanboi. I've never had a problem with AMD so I never felt the need to change. I'm more than happy with the Ryzen 5900x (12 core/24 thread) CPU and XFX 7900 XTX (24GB) I have right now. I am thinking about upgrading the CPU to a 5950 (16core/32 thread).
Go with Legion, go it can do so much you can get extra power If you need it down the road it has a big screen but still small to travel 8.8 you take off the controller use it like a laptop hook a keyboard and Monitor use fps mode as a mouse or for gaming also people mod the legion go but it's amazing as it self it's like a switch but pc you can play old and games on it very well!
Just order one for streaming cornhole games hopefully it’s good
When we are talking ram on laptops even know you guys recommend 16 gigs in 2024 I'd like to see what difference from 16 gig pc 5200 and 32 gig 5200 in this laptop, I beleave it be worth it over all significantly
Wait the logo is acer Predator right?
I know they didn't have a shaq skin with a banana umbrella 💀 9:30
Ladies and gentlemen i am in need of advice. Im looking for upgrades for my pc but i really dont know what to get. Im also on a very tight €/$50-100 budget. My main problem with my pc is that after it boots up, it takes ages to load apps up. Also if i dont use an external SSD my pc boots up and is in an infinite bootup screen for some unknown reason.
My specs are:
Ram: 16GB DDR4
Gpu: Nvidia geforce gtx 980
Cpu: intel core i7-5820k 3.30GHz
Storage: TOSHIBA DT01ACA200 1.81Tb and an external SanDisk Extreme 55AE SCSI Disk Device.
Troll?
My Girlfriends Mother has a very tight budget.
Y’all need to buy the yeyian yumi pc its would be a good vid
just got the 3050 for 1200 $ ca. wish i got it from the us but never tried cause they don't like us Canadians bypassing Canadian companies on line. 1.40ca per 1 us dollar;)
im happy though.
13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-13420H 2.10 GHz
16.0 GB (13.7 GB usable)
geforce rxt 3050 laptop gpu
ps thanks for giving me a heads-up on how to open it, will be upgrading the ssd to 1 terra . maybe 32 ram . keeping the beer away this time around 😊😊💕💕
No sale for me but I guess I don’t count… he said EVERYBODY!
Is a rtx 4070 intel i7 13700HX 16gb ram and 1tb ssd worth it for £633 uprfront?
Absolute insanity that a laptop at that price could come with only 8GB ram. Even apple changed their standard to 16GB on base models for new Mac’s.
everyone? For example, I did NOT buy this gaming laptop. If it would come with 16 GB of RAM, it would be a servicable 2024 gaming laptop.
Just put it in the fridge when playing. (keep the receipt)
Hey i got a question. My old laptop broke that i used for gaming, im plannij gon buying a prebuilt. I need to buy from costco, My budget is 500-600$ i dont know if i should build one or buy a prebuilt. I cant buy from other sites because i will return the old laptop. If i buy a prebuilt will i be able to upgrade it after? Im planning on buying the cyberpower prebuilt with a rtx 4060 for only 927$. Is that a good deal? It has I Intel® Core™ i7-1370P Processor, is this good deal? It is onsale at my local costco.
3 years ago I bought a laptop for 700$ it has Ryzen 5 5500U and integrated graphics card(Vega 6), it's insane how much better laptops you can buy now for the same price
I think you got a bad deal ngl, all my friends got gaming laptops (I'm slowly converting them into gaming pcs, as they don't really travel and a gaming laptop is sometimes double the price of a pc with the same components). They all got laptops from around 3-4 years ago and most of them have dedicated cards, like a gtx 1060. Also around the same price (600-700$)
@@miuletzmitzu6641 well yes it's because of my location, because for example here rtx 4060 is around 400$ while on Amazon it's in 250-350$
dude spoiled the whole video before they even turned the damn thing on
I got this laptop for about $500 here in my country the shop i bought was decluttering and it was like off by 50% also had a free upgrade of 8gb ram since i paid in cash lmao
how did they make the dGPU run with the laptop screen? I have the same laptop but says iGPU is used for the laptop screen
I've been recently looking into a gaming laptop just to have tekken 8 on the go so I can take it to friends and play since none of them have ps5s. Would this be good enough?
more that enough
Does the ryzen 7 version give good battery life
hi guys could you show the bios and see if there are voices like, cfg lock and overclocking lock?
An itx setup at full power is 700
was considering this but with the specs and low battery watt like 130W charger your inviting troubles in future. bare minimum should be 200Watt. thoughts? 💭
Its a 45W TDP on the GPU. I'm using a 180W brick for an RTX3060 130W TDP configuration😂
