The walmart laptop had twice the storage so you would have to spend 50 or 60more bucks and tear down the laptop to add an equal amount. So I'd say the Wally world took it.
Plus Lenovo makes it easy to get to the memory and storage for upgrades. Bought a Lenovo for our son last summer and it has a door on the underside you just unscrew and change things out.
I like how these are both laptops I bought early versions of 2 Christmases ago (older gen even then), one for my kid and one for me. Interesting to see what 2 years getsya.
I would love to see a video where you build a complete set up, including each part of the pc, but each individual component should cost less then $50, and see how good you could make the setup. Just thought i would share the idea. Love your videos!
It's not that they don't have a charge out the box. It's a tamper protocol from all the OEM's put into their devices just in case someone has tampered with the box and device. Any new laptop you buy has that tamper protocol in the device, if you're laptop turns on with out plugging it in the first time means that laptop has been used already.
I have a Legion with the Ryzen 7 processor and man, it's a freaking tank. I don't even have to crank it up to max performance to really get a good gaming experience... now if only there was new games out that were worth playing 🙂
Find a decent gaming laptop worth buying under 1k these days is a challenge. If you want to buy a laptop under 1k then ok but it won’t be worth a damn for gaming
Not sure if you have done it before but a pawn shop challenger would be cool. Just got my son an 11th gen i7, 16gb of ram and 3050ti laptop with 144hz screen for 280.
1 thing with buying laptop is the power management thing that’s locked by the manufacturer, like some laptops with 4060 is priced at the 4060 price range but the gpu itself is power limited and performs like a 4050, and that’s a bummer
Thanks so much my favorite RUclipsrs for this amazing content you guys helped me a lot how to build pcs and do a lot more how to arrange and do gaming setups I even started working at tech and IT pc software and fixing because of you guys inspiration thanks so much believe me
also on the latop on the right there is a button on the top right that can make it go into performants mode that may give better FPS to the game as well
I appreciate that you had to make a video but what you experienced is what makes Best Buy and Walmart useless for pcs for most of us. When you can do the challenge as advertised, let us know.
Depends on what you're going to use it for... General day to day computing and regular video watching then sure. But for gaming, probably not unless it's got a dedicated GPU now.
I got a ASUS TUF Dash Gaming Laptop, 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz Display, Intel Core i7-12700H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD, Backlit KB for 1k is that good
if the acer is using ddr5 (i dont know for sure), but ddr5 can be a double channel on a single stick of ram, so it could have 2 slots with one populated with a dual channel stick
Historically, January is a bad month to buy computers. Whereas some products get crazy sales after Christmas, computers usually don't. Plus, better, newer models are often on the horizon, making it unwise to pay sticker in January.
Thank you brother I I'm so anxious and money is burning my pocket for and upgrade laptop. I have been watching the Asus Rog G16. Preferably want QHD 4060 at least and the nebula display they are boasting about. When do you suggest is a better time to shop.
Hey Toasty bros you should try the XVX V-K66 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard next time u do a budget gaming keyboard video if u do. I got mine for 25$ And it's Insanely good.
i just got Lenovo - LOQ 15.6" Gaming Laptop FHD - Intel Core i5-13420H with 8GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6GB - 1TB SSD - Storm Grey for 649$ after tax, right now it is going for 949.99.
I got a AMD 7 7700 with a 4060 inside a prebuilt pc, and a Xbox Elite series 2 controller, and 32in gaming curved monitor for total:1,600. That a good deal?
The nitro has a software called nitrosense that can increase the performance of the gpu, also it has a higher tdp for the gpu than the slim which is common in slims. I have that laptop I got it on sale for 860 on new egg upgraded the ram to 32 gb of 5600, and installed 3tb worth of extra storage, got the mouse, headset and controller to match and kept it at 1000 dollars making it a better deal than that slim
I got my hp victus from microcenter for $879 after tax ($809 before open box) it has the 13700HX | 32GB | 1tb ssd and 4060 8gb, not a terrible deal but it does has some wonky stuff. I cant get it to wake from sleep mode for some reason, and you have to use their legion hub software to unlock the cpu power by default which sucks. Its locked to 35w no matter the power plan in windows without that software, the gpu is not but idk why they locked the cpu, you can at least undervolt and change the fan speed with the software.
If your computer is using a hard drive, you probably need to swap it out for a solid state drive. Lots of older windows PCs get capped by their hard drive speed today. SSds aren't very expensive and they are easy to sitch out on a desktop, harder on a laptop but also possible if you watch a tutorial. (While you have your PC open probably a good idea to make sure you have 12 or 16GB of ram, as 8GB is starting to be a bit low unless all you do is browse the web, and it is also fairly easy to swap out) - Worth doing if your CPU is at least an i3/i5, but if it is a Celeron/Pentium/Athlon its probably more worth it to upgrade to a newer computer. (If you saw your disk utilization was at 100% you should be able to see how your CPU is holding up as well in task manager)
@@ColShlawg The top things I would expect is 1) your computer might be installing an updated, and it might improve once that is done 2) you might have some heavy program running in background 3)if you are maxing out ram it might be using SSD for page files or 4) if the SSD is almost full it might cause problems. I'd say keep checking around on the internet and if nothing helps you might backup your files and do a factory reset, though thats no sure fix either.
If your SSD has less than 10% space left, that's gonna cause it to start swapping out files and that'll push the system to 100% usage quite often. You should never overload an SSD like that as it'll wear out the poor thing faster according to PC Jesus at Gamers Nexus.
Got a nitro 5 with a 3050 ti and a i5 11300h cpu****and it’s a beast ngl. It wasn’t for me but it runs so good. But like any laptop it does heat up😂 u hear the fans running but it stays cool for a laptop*forgot to mention I got it for 400 bucks in micro center open box. In my opinion it was a steal*
I feel like the title should be changed to budget gaming laptop challenge since you're saying budget gaming pc and all you bought were laptops. EDIT for all you butthurt replies: the title is extremely misleading because when you google "budget gaming pc" what shows up? ALL DESKTOPS and not a single laptop result
I like the double benchmark videos. Nice to see both of you play by each other.
I love you guys doing the 2 laptops at the same time. Please do more videos like this.
was able to pick up the Lenovo Slim for $750 open box before Christmas and its been a absolute unit. such a good buy at under $1000.
I got the Acer nitro 5 with a 3050ti and an i5-12500h for 850 in August of 2022. Named it Martin and very happy with him
What are the specs of it?
@@Riptide2ksame as the Lenovo in this video.
@@AbimayoXDhad the same model lasted 4 years for me sadly right now it says no bootable device and I tired so much to fix it but couldn’t
@@jadarose9954 its fixable, i went to a local guy to fix mine and i think it was the problem with the ram or your ssd + battery, just check those
Love watching these because it’s professionally shot but still feels like a few guys having fun
Even though I’m just now watching it the first little bit of this was exactly what I needed today. It was very funny.
Now we need a 300 budget micro center trip
The walmart laptop had twice the storage so you would have to spend 50 or 60more bucks and tear down the laptop to add an equal amount. So I'd say the Wally world took it.
Eh. Lenovo imo is better built, has a better screen, better I\O, and imo way better customer service.
Plus Lenovo makes it easy to get to the memory and storage for upgrades. Bought a Lenovo for our son last summer and it has a door on the underside you just unscrew and change things out.
Lenovo had better everything basically and the 4060 is so much better. Also 8GB of VRAM over 6

I think the cheapest gaming laptop as of now is the MSI Cyborg 15 on sale you can find the 4050 and 4060 version for $800
I have a Legion with the Ryzen 7 processor and man, it's a freaking tank. I don't even have to crank it up to max performance to really get a good gaming experience... now if only there was new games out that were worth playing 🙂

You guys should do a pre-owned challenge. Set a price limit of $500 and see who can get the best gaming laptop for that price
That would be a good challenge. How much power under the hood can you get for $500?
