Too right! I refuse to go high end because I don't need anymore shininess than I already have. There's only a few games where I have to turn my settings down at 1080P to get at least 60FPS locked. My computer's value comes in it's functionality and my games library, I'll upgrade in a year or two when new releases are all mesh shaded RTX UE5 games, if I want to play them.
So true, i still have my old samsung laptop from 2018 with an i5 7th gen U no dedicaded graphs and was like "i wish i could have a real gaming pc someday to play everything" Now i have a super high end pc that plays anything on high but I don't have the desire to play anything anymore... so i'm stuck playing the same games i used to run on my laptop
@@stxddy Perfectly nice build mate, it'll play more or less everything. My computer's about the same, R5 5500, 2060S, 16GB DDR4, 1/2TB NVMe, 2 x 1TB SATA SSD, 1TB HDD. It does me just fine right now, even though I've been on the same GPU for 4 years it's still working well. Your card has about the same performance. Believe it or not these level builds are still above average.
That scene where you guys were riding the motorcycle together, you should have edited your faces on it and used that as the thumbnail for the video. It would have been funny lol.
You picked the HP and Dell Workstations that only supported up to 4-core/ 8-threads. You can upgrade to an E3-1230v3 for the Dell T700 and an E3-1240v5 for the HP Z240. Both PCs would put out reasonable performance with those CPU upgrades but the HP was always going to win with the IPC advantage and smaller chip 22nm for the E3-1230v3 and 14nm for the E3-1240v5. Both CPUs can be found for about $20 on eBay so neither is a bad buy. Of course, the Z240 was the better buy for the price, but I wouldn't call the Dell a bad buy. The bottleneck on both systems should go away with the CPU upgrade. But the 2060 is about 50% faster than the 1650 and the IPC difference between the CPUs isn't that large of a gap.
The problem is that they use the internet adapters that came with it, which were really bad little Chinese internet adapters, they should have both used straight wire for both to eliminate the internet problem!
Got an idea for an interesting video. I was recently gifted a fancy seasonic case that forces you to invert the mobo. It’s an interesting concept being I’m now pumping gpu heat right out of the top versus on the psu. It would be interesting to see you guys test two identical builds to see how efficient this concept is.
I've built several systems using recycled Dell T1700. Just get a power supply adapter, a more powerful power supply, and video card that isn't too long (if you don't want to cut into the chassis) and you can run games at 1080p.
4:00 How can they advertise a i5 with DDR4 but it's 4th gen...only 6th gen and above has DDR4 (although 6th gen also supports DDR3), these amazon listings are wild.
My niece is having the same exact DELL with a 4th gen i5, 16GB of ram and a 1650 non super (without suplemental power) and she can play fortnite on with 100% rendering and low to medium settings, with stable 60fps with no such hiccups. I am wondering what was the problem, it felt like the shader install wasn't finished properly. I think you should look more into that test and check what was causing the issue, cause you may mislead some people to thinking that such a PC wouldn't run Fortnite.

How does Amazon's return policy compare to Ebay? I've always looked at ebay because their return policy is known to be so solid, but is Amazon actually any worse?
I was actually thinking of buying the RTX 3050 8GB or an RTX 3060 12GB not for gaming per say but for programs that would benefit from CUDA acceleration. However, putting a RTX 2060 or 2060 super is attractive to for a R5 1700AF.
I don't understand why they're stuttering so much in fortnite. My nephew's computer had a fourth gen i5 4560 I believe. Paired with that was a 1650 TI or super whatever. He always turn the graphical settings down to get as much FPS as he possibly could and he doesn't stutter as bad as they did.
The HP is the better buy but you really need to change out the low power consumption CPU for one that goes a bit quicker. A non K i7 would do the job, if you can find a cheap one.
Im scared to buy from Newegg after that gamers nexus kerfuffle. I did order a CPU a month ago but theres no way Id buy a motherboard from them any time soon. Or anything open box. Hi toasty brosI just wanted to say that I love your content and I had a question I wanted to buy the STGAubron pc I was wondering if it’s good and if I should buy it for my first gaming pc if can you tell me which one to buy that’s under 500$ that has a clear case🙏🙏🙏
Amazon is by default about 6% better just because of their card and slow shipping discount. I was going to order all of my parts on Newegg, but then some of the prices were cheaper on Amazon and the 6% back was a no-brainer.
It'll be fine. The 3700 is roughly equivalent to a Intel 10th Gen i7, which my buddy runs in his rig along with a 3080 without issue. You could upgrade to a 5700 or 5800 X/X3D if you want and get even more performance, there's probably a decent used market out there for people upgrading off of AM4.
You’re fine with that setup at 1440p. Wouldn’t recommend a 3070ti if you’re gonna buy it new in 2024 but buying used is fine and even if you decide to go with used AMD’s 6800xt, your processor will bottleneck it. That setup will last you some good years and in the future you can sell and get a new rig on the latest platform altogether.
first off, why would you want to upgrade to a 3070ti? Its one of their worst value cards and 8gb. Unless you have a stellar deal, forget the 3070ti. Get the 6700 xt.
Jacksons computer is unplayable according to him. They sell 3 budget computers at Toasty Bros for $325 and less. The most expensive one is on par with the unplayable one.The other 2 are worse. Screenshot.
he said unplayable when the settings were on high. upon switching settings at 20:46, he said it was then playable. As for the PCBros comment, all 3 PC’s which you mentioned are cheaper than the PC that was reviewed in this video, comes with a 1 year warranty, have free shipping, and has everything set up out of the box. of course the other 2 that are worse are going to perform worse, they are half the price of the PC reviewed in this video😂. i generally pair 2060 gpus with systems i would pair a 1070ti or 1080 with , those generations like 4th gen etc are fine with those gpus if you use the enthusiast platforms for instance i use a gtx 1080 with a i7 4930k and it works great , ive tested a 1080ti with a 5960x and its carried just fine , these older generations aged very well in their hedt versions , i knew the mainstreams would age a lot worse but considering some of these cpus are now 14 years old nearly it shows that things don't improve near as fast now as they did like in the early 2000s etc stuff back then was obselete and about completely useless in 3-4 years until the core 2 and am2 systems arrived then things started changing to where systems stayed functional for many years
i still use a 6600k cuz its all i could afford and it is not a nice experience constant freezing and constant restarting of my pc at least 5 times a day
The Amazon PC is better clearly. Don't think u said what the PSU in the Amazon rig was but it is got to be better than the 290 watt PSU in Newegg PC. Imo the Amazon PC CPU was a lucky win, and if you were to upgrade to a i7 6700 it would be a good PC. But i5 with 4 core 4 thread is no good in 2024. i7 4 core 8 thread really is the minimum you want now imo.
4th gen intel has xeon 1245 and similar. 8 meg cache - 4 core 8 thread - they are very good cpus . 4th gen core i5s are really poor in comparison. i would always go amd socket am4 but on limited budget 4th gen xeon -EVERY TIME
Since when does fortnite use so much cpu? it locks up on a i5 4th and 6th gen? wasn't it supposed to be really accessible so more people could play fortnite needs a heavy hand at optimization.
Lower resolutions cause more of a CPU bottleneck... A higher resolution puts more stress on the GPU. When you have a CPU bottleneck, its best to stay at native resolution.
halo was the perfect show of how the 2060 is twice as good as the 1650, halo is major gpu bound and even on user benchmark it shows about 50 to 100 more fps in certain situations, the cpu is def the issue on both machines tho if the 1650 machine had the 2060s cpu and the 2060 machine had a i7 it would be equal accros the field on playability

The fact that the PC has a warning paper on it doesnt sound like a good sign.
That’s such a good skate spot
Since when does fortnite use so much cpu? it locks up on a i5 4th and 6th gen? wasn't it supposed to be really accessible so more people could play fortnite needs a heavy hand at optimization.

Definitely keeping my day job. 😂
Lower resolutions cause more of a CPU bottleneck... A higher resolution puts more stress on the GPU. When you have a CPU bottleneck, its best to stay at native resolution.
I have an i5-11400F and rtx 2060 and this game dose the same lag
halo was the perfect show of how the 2060 is twice as good as the 1650, halo is major gpu bound and even on user benchmark it shows about 50 to 100 more fps in certain situations, the cpu is def the issue on both machines tho if the 1650 machine had the 2060s cpu and the 2060 machine had a i7 it would be equal accros the field on playability
i think 1 bro is eating more toast than the other
