Great video mate. Maybe you should have talk more about couch play, playing older games in high resolution and high framerates (ps2,ps3 gen...), game ownership etc.
Thanks! Fair points! There was a lot I would have liked to cover but wanted to try and keep the vid to a reasonable length too. Otherwise I’d probably never manage to finish it 😆
I actually just built my first pc after being a console gamer my whole life. Once i saw the graphical fidelity and fps I can honestly say i'm never going back!!!!
Now you can just upgrade your parts when you need if a ps5 pro launches get a $300 gpu like a 7600 xt thats better then a few year later upgrade your other parts. thats how i keep it cheap.
The utility of gaming on PC is it's non-specialised nature if you configure it to an acceptable budget as you've pointed out. I've known console owners who rely on laptops over desktop machines so the affordability of them is a factor - anyway a great balanced video that seems well informed from an experienced long term user of all platforms.
@@arcadespawn Gaming too and constantly mobile. But that is a friend's specific use case though. They have consoles but aren't home too much to use them. So plays on the go with the nearest power point.
I do like picking up some PlayStation exclusives on disc now and again, but not sure how much longer it’ll be a thing on console. Digital is convenient but way less interesting or memorable.
Hey man great video! I’ve made my decision bc I want to play with a ps4 controller but I don’t wanna stay on ps4 console and don’t like ps5 so this made the decision a lot easier to get a pc. Is £600 good price for a pc and if so what specs should I get?
Thank you!! I think the main things to consider are what game(s) do you want to play on it, and what resolution? Then look at some benchmarks for those games. £600 might be a challenge though!
£600 for a pre-built is low, you'll get a potato and regret spending the money. £600 on the 2nd hand market *could get you a decent entry 1080p machine, but It takes time, and you'll have to build it yourself.
i want to get a PC but my budget is extremely tight and with my future plans (i’m currently a HS senior and i’m either going to college or moving in with my dad to work with him and do college online) idk how much time i’ll have to game, so sticking with my console might seem better to just hop on and play hassle free. plus i don’t really have to worry about the online fee, for one most online games i play are free anyway so they have their own servers. for two my friend is game sharing his ps plus with me so i can access all of that stuff for free. thanks dominic 🙏
Im switching to pc. I actually think console gaming is better all said because of games being optimized. I’ve played on pc before and am going back. However, even if my over all gaming experience is lower, for me all my games being in one library is just a must. So I’m now sticking with steam or nothing else. I just can’t take switching platforms completely every time I game it never feels like my “spot” anymore.
Pc gaming is cheaper then console now you can build a pretty decent pc for $600-$700 and no online fee imagine $700 ps5 pro + 1 year of ps+ $120 basic sub fee for a year is $820(doesnt include a stand, another controller and more storage since its all digital). pc gaming is a hell of a lot cheaper now thanks to the ps5 pro🤣
Meh, I have built some nice rigs and while you can get more performance. Consoles simplicity and optimization is far better. Im older now and enjoy the convenience of console
Solid video man keep going and doing your thing , I smell potential here 🙌🏻
What a legend, cheers Beefy! 🙌

Did you already have a desk setup? Was there a particular game that gave you the push to PC?
@@arcadespawn Yea. I already had a desk and monitor. The game that probably gave me the push is Cod/Warzone.
@Brandon_Brown I feel like the graphics drop at 120hz was really noticeable on MW2 on console so I can see why that one would tempt you over.

@@hvdiv17 my PC already has a 4080 super so I'll be good for a few years
Great video, pointed out most of the pros and cons
Cheers, appreciate it!
Great video mate, I've mostly been a console gamer my whole life, but if I didn't need a Mac, I'd be very tempted to get a PC.
Cheers Tom! A Mac and a PC would hurt the wallet for sure! Tempted by the PS5 Pro?
@ I might buy a PS5 Pro next year, not impressed with the price though. Will you get one mate?
Perhaps when Ghost of Yotei launches next year and if the price drops, but with my PC I'm in no rush.
Love the video, thanks
Thanks for watching! Appreciate the comment 👍

As in a console owner that would also buy a laptop for their productivity needs? It’s a good point!
And thanks!! Appreciate it!

Makes sense! I quite fancy picking up a Steamdeck for some mobile gaming but not sure how much I’d actually use it.
@@arcadespawn I don't own one of those devices but do have a Switch lite personally.
I love my PC, but man something about physical games just keeps me thinking about consoles.

I prefer playing on ps5 and games on disc
Great video. Do I get any royalties for this one? ;)
You get to play some COD with me 🤣

can't afford both, I only have my cellphone

@ nono my friends name is dominic, he’s the one who’s fake sharing with me lololol
Haha! Well thank you, and thanks Dominic 🤣
So you only play esclusives on console? Nice video tho :)
Thanks! Yeah pretty much. Or if a single player game is in the sales I’ll get it on console but more often than not it’s cheaper on PC.
sony exclusives come to pc 6 months later now and game pass is on pc no need for consoles anymore.
@@hvdiv17 The video gives multiple reasons to own a console outside of just games.
