One store specializes in selling/building computers and computer components. The other sells groceries and household products with a foot into selling some computers.
In late 2015 I decided I wanted to get into PC gaming. I went to Costco and got a HP tower with an i7-6700 16gb of RAM, and a 1tb hdd. Don't remember what it cost but it was a good deal. Got it home and slapped a 256gb SSD, a 650w PSU and a GTX 970 in it. Decided after a month that I wanted to build a custom PC from the ground up, so I returned the tower to stock and took it back to Costco. They took a quick look at it, asked me if there was anything wrong with it (I said no I just didn't like it), and gave me all my money back without issue. For that reason I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything from Costco, PCs or otherwise.
Thinking about doing this with the MSI laptop I bought in 2021 that is literally falling apart. I've been using a Dyson purifier/heater for over a decade. I am actually on my third one but still only into it for about $450. The current model I have now costs $530 on sale at Costco. The original Pure Hot and Cool model I had cost around $300 and then I've had to pay a total of $150 additional for the two replacements. When the current one craps out (and it will), I'm taking it back to costco and I'll get the next model for like $100. The reason Costco has had to price them at nearly the same cost as on the Dyson website is because of all the returns they've done on them over the years. I also tried 4k for a week courtesy of Costco. Then I returned the TV and got a 2k monitor. I can't afford the data for the 4k content and I would rather have half the pixels at 3x the framerate.
I have a similar story, but with Sams Club. I bought their floor model HP Envy desktop on clearance in late 2017 with similar specs, but its HDD was 2tb. I placed in a 1050ti, and it served as a great beginners gaming PC for the time. When I was ready to build my own, I gave the HP to a friend who wanted something that could run Skyrim with mods. That's about all the PC gaming she does, so it should last her long enough that she shouldn't need anything newer until Microsoft stops supporting Windows 10
When I wanted a newer tablet I bought it at Costco because of the return policy. I wasen't happy of the performance for the price, returned it no question asked. I didn't hesitate the next year to try a newer model and it was amasing for the price. Still works 6 years later. You definetly have to wait for a good deal though. Often it's overpriced.
IKR that thing is well worth taking advantage of to get sick savings on electronics when Costco has them. A single purchase from them can cover the cost of a premium membership as well if you buy something nice, like a gaming laptop, or a high end display. Just be sure to stock up whenever you can and it pays for itself already. I loan my membership card to friends as well so they can go shopping with it lmao
As an IT professional who uses the numpad for IPs, phone numbers, pincodes and such pretty often, screw all of you haters saying that the numpad is for accountants :P
Even as someone that doesn't work with numbers professionally, I still value the numpad, because when I do have to input a sequence of numbers it's just way faster.
Apple in their macbooks decided in its infinite wisdom to replace the dot in the numpad with a comma in my localized Spanish keyboard, making it useless for entering ip addresses which was my main use for it.
I know you're joking, but there are people I know, in my gaming outfit, who live in the southern hemisphere over in Australasia land, and they're legitimately considering a trip to the US to visit, hanging out with other gamers, maybe spend some time touching grass, and buy PC upgrades. Because a ticket from Kiwiland or Emutopia is cheaper than the import duties he'd have to pay, and due to free trade agreements, they can buy a certain amount of stuff tax-free (enough for a gaming PC) and bring it back. A number of Southeast Asian and Asian Pacific Island nations are in a similar situation, though most of them also have average per-capita incomes that are too low to take advantage of such a deal anyway. Still, wealthy people in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam etc can take a trip to Honolulu and make out like bandits buying electronics, despite those same electronics being manufactured in the region, some of them even in Vietnam and Thailand now, as people move away from manufacturing in China.
Lot's of the PC/Laptops sold on Costco usually have double the RAM as the standard found on Amazon or other resellers. Also they have a 2 year warranty, a easy 90 day return and their own technical support. I'd like to see any other retailer match that.
and if tech support can't fix, they replace, usually with the current model that's in stock at that time. It would explain why Costco doesn't go out of their way to offer the bleeding edge skus.
@@riopato2009 I returned a 7 month old laptop to Costco when it was having issues. Also returned a nearly 2 year old Netgear Orbi system that kept crashing. Love Costco customer service!
I bought a MSI ge76 raider with a 3060 like 2ish years ago at Costco, it went on sale like 2 weeks later and I went back with my receipt and they gave me the difference back. Basically no other place would do that and the price was already competitive with other retailers prior to the sale.
The reason Costco is used for electronics is their Unmatched Return policy. 2 years for laptops, desktops, monitors, tv's. No questions asked. No other reseller is close in the USA/Canada.
@@unstopology ok so they extend the manufacturer warranty for two years from purchase date. So an extra year. That is vague. And would be just defects in the product?
Not different pricing on computers. A lot of the computers online have a $14.99 shipping charge in the US and are priced identically to in store. Larger items that ship via freight have shipping charges built into the cost of the product. -Costco electronics employee.
I’m probably going to be buried under a lot of other comments, but I do feel like I should clarify a couple things. Also personal bias, since I did buy my laptop at Costco. 1) I’m guessing selection is dependent on store; the lowest spec ones for gaming I see at my Costco are rtx 3050s. So maybe that’s why you ended up with a 2050 (def don’t have that here). 2) Costco has great seasonal sales. For example, for 2 months starting in January, they were offering MSI rtx 4050 laptops for 600 dollars. Sometimes there’s discount on top of discounts; I got my Lenovo legion 5 i7 13900 hx rtx 4060 with 32 gb ram and 1 tb of storage, 2560x1600 165 hz screen for $1,000 dollars. So your mileage will vary depending on the month you buy, and good stock will run dry quickly. 3) The 90 Day return policy is godly. As long as you ever a receipt, paper or digital, they’ll take back the laptop as long as it’s relatively okay(if it looks like it got run over by a truck not sure if they’ll take it back 😅). Have buyers remorse 85 days in and want your money back instantly? Return to the store with no questions asked. It’s also great because if you settle on one model of laptop that’s on sale and the and another retailer like Best Buy discounts a different brand or spec 2 months later, you can return the Costco one and buy your desired laptop. It’s essentially a 90 day buyers insurance. Anyone here’s some insight why someone would buy electronics at Costco. Fun video to watch, but I do feel like it does put Costco in general in a bad light when I’ve had the complete opposite experience, so wanted to share.
I agree that if buying a computer at Costco you need to know what you want and just wait for something similar to come in at a good price. Costco is a bad place to if you don't know what you're looking for and need it that day because the selection is so variable. Also Costco does not seem to care the condition of returned merchandise. I once had someone in line in front of me at customer service returning an above ground pool kit, clearly after it had already been installed. It was several piles of mangled metal spread over many of the big item carts with a bonus cart for the pump. It looked like when they disassembled it they just ripped it apart as all the screw holes had been torn open into jagged wounds, every panel was bent, dented and warped. He was successful in his return. I've always returned things in good condition but they will take anything back from what I have seen and that is a huge bonus as a customer.
Thanks for this very detailed breakdown of your experience. It makes sense that their selection is variable considering how they buy stock. I must have caught it at a bad time. It checks out that you have to go in knowing what you want, because the crappy systems seem to kinda build up in their inventory and it’s up to you to sift through it. I’ll keep an eye on the sales and then might do a follow up video and another device. Thanks again for all the info. 👍
Times have certainly changed. I wanted to build a gaming rig in 2021. Prices were outrageous for components at that time, but I really wanted to get back into gaming. I bought an MSI GF-75 Slim with an i5-10300H and GTX 1650Ti for $600. They had a deal for $100 off any computer too, so it was like $580 out the door. Underpowered, poor build quality like Dawid mentioned? Absolutely. But I knew what I was getting and it got me back into gaming, so it served its purpose and served me well.
Thats funny, I have the same laptop (except I have the standard 1650), I added more ram and a second SSD. And to this day I still use it, the only problem is the high temperatures it can reach (like any gaming laptop).
I’m glad to hear you got a good deal with them. Other people were saying in the comments that their seasonal deals are really good. I wonder if their prices in store are better than online.
@@DawidDoesTechStuffis definitely worth checking out, depends on the store but you can get some better deals in store, I've seen laptops 2-4 hundred less in store than online. I have noticed most of the configs are garbage, but the same things with best buy, Amazon or Even microcenter. I've never been impressed by anyone buying experience with a laptop. But Costco offers a 90 days no question return policy. Just say it wasn't a good fit and they will take it back, it's much more difficult to do Amazon or microcenter in my experience
Costco price matches everything and their warranty is amazing. They don't have a high turnaround but their customer service is amazing compared to plenty of other well known brands.
What you didn't say about Costco is that the offer you 90 days or warranty while you're an active member and can return the item no questions asked and that they regularly have sales or added value like that PS5 or a tablet with keyboard and case for the same price as the plain version elsewhere.
I got that same exact laptop but for around 680USD. I got it because I'm an engineering student and my task got more and more intense that the max 12GB ram on my old laptop can't cope with the simulations anymore. I got this Acer Nitro V15 because it was within budget, has two M.2 NVMe slots and max ram is 32GB which I immediately upgraded it to, the RTX 2050 was a bonus. I also liked the design, it's simple with white backlight on the keyboard (I don't really like RBG). I'm really happy with it.
I was in the market for a new laptop in college with an $800 budget and I found a 2021 Acer Swift X around that price point. With a R7 5725U, 3050Ti, and 16gb of RAM, it actually games much better than you'd expect, and handles video editing like it's nothing. Battery life is decent and it's all metal. The newer models are even better, with 120hz displays. Moral of the story: don't just look at "gaming" laptops, you might be able to find something even better if you looker further.
Dawid, numpad is absolutely essential for some games! I've got several that use half of the entire numpad for various binds (different voice channels being a common purpose) and macros. I basically can't function without one on my gaming rig, one that does NOT use a function key to become accessible. Back when I played MMOs regularly, I would use the whole thing for ability macros lol
I did - bought an MSI Gaming desktop - and at the time it was a great price for what the unit provided - plus 90 days off the rip to return if it doesn't work out - my first unit was defective hardware - swapped no questions asked (I did have the defect confrimed through MIS customer service - brought that to Costco - 2nd unit running flawless (after a couple of upgrades - solid rig) I even got MSI to send me a mesh cover (as on display - because the one in the box was glass) - MSI (surprisingly) and Costco get a+ from me. Next time though - if not in the midst of a pandemic, I'll build myself - I have 1 hour drive to Micro Center - so 2 years more I think.
Selection varies quite a bit at costco Sometimes there is good deals sometimes not so much they usually dont carry much low end stuff, from my experience working retail that is a good thing as we had so many returns on low end stuff Main reason to buy at Costco is their 2 year warranty (if you buy with costco mastercard) and long return policy 2 year warranty is included and is handled over the counter same day (at least thats how they do it at my local costco)
Absolutely can't wait for our MC to open, been on the flash giveaway list since like day one, LOL. It's about a 30-40 minute drive from home (give or take), and I forsee much money being spent there, LOL.
I'm currently using an Acer Nitro 5 laptop as my away from home desktop, specs are an I5 12450H but with a 3050ti as a graphics card and was around 700 bucks from best buy and in all honestly.. It's not a terrible gaming experiance at all. It's nothing that will blow your head off great, but plays fairly well at 1080P. Even pal-world is a smooth gaming experiance. Would make for a decent comparison video if nothing else lol
I recommend this laptop for a family friend cause he'll need it for work. He's an older guy and needed something super bang for buck for his needs. I got it on a good sale on microcenter. With all the bloatware uninstalled, it's a solid laptop for the price at like 550
Costco is actually quite popular for electronics, thanks to their generous return policy. Even on some items like TVs that have a more limited return policy, they still beat out almost every other retailer. I had a Samsung 34" monitor develop some dead pixels after 6 months of use and they took it back without issue. As others pointed out though, the best deals will always be at the warehouses themselves and they are often specific to each location. Obviously though, since they are not an electronics-focused retailer, don't expect the in-person selection to be all that great anyway.
I haven't purchased a laptop at Costco yet but the complaint about the fan noice seems irrelevant as most people play with headsets anyway and the fact that it actually stays cool is a win versus other cheap laptops like my lenovo ideapad gaming which might as well be a grill at a constant 99 degrees
Referring to my local Costco - I’ve never bought a laptop from them but rarely do they ever have what I’m looking for. But they’ve had reasonable prices for laptops normal people might buy, often with more ram/storage than you’d find at price parity elsewhere. So if I were to suggest a nice build quality igpu laptop for my mom or an entry level gaming laptop for a 12 year old cousin - you could go far worse given their warranty etc.
many gaming laptops nowadays runs very cool, I had a razer blade 14 3080, and it was running pes 2019 at 59 degree on the gpu, while in the latest AAA games they were running at mid to high 60 in the gpu, it had vapor chamber btw so much better cooling than that acer it just depends on the laptop, if its a cheap msi gf63 then its gonna be hot as for cpu temps it doesn't matter even latest desktop cpu reaches 100degrees, its the gpu temp that matters, and in some of the latest gaming laptops its very impressive
You forgot to mention that with Costco you automatically get a 2 year warranty on any computer for free.I got my Acer Predator Orion 3000 PO3-640-EC01 Gaming Desktop, i5-12400F for about 900$ on sale which was cheaper at the time vs other places. You have to look into when they have sales. After sales service with costco in general is much better as well
Hey Dawid, this is not a fair comparison. you have to go into the warehouse to find the deals and the member pricing will be better. The online store allows non-members to shop but the prices for non-members are inflated
THIS! I was about to comment this. These Laptops are cheaper for members. I am in the USA, so a bit different on the dollar to dollar ratio, but I am currently looking at a similiar Costoc Acer Laptop with a RTX2050 graphics card in it, and the price is $599.99 on sale right now. I can get a HP Omen with a RTX4060 and 32 GB Ram for $999.99 on sale $320 off at the moment if I wanted to.
In the UK the PC selection at Costco is much better, a couple of weeks ago there was a white mid-tower prebuilt and if I recall correctly it had an RTX 4060/ 4060 Ti and a Ryzen 7 5000 CPU, it was also a pretty decent deal for what it was
I wonder if the items on the DELL outlet (AKA scratch and dent website) would be a better deal dollar to dollar? Dawid would you go ahead and buy some beat up DELL crap so I don't have to??? Great work as usual Big D.
I've found that thin laptops whether they are cheap or expensive are loud because of the small cooling systems, so unfortunately noise is inevitable. For comparison I have a '3XS Vengeance GL 3060' from Scan Computers and in performance mode it's very similar to the Laptop in the video.
No one can match Costco's return policy and when it comes to electronics, their warranty service which is basically if it can't be fixed, it gets replaced with what they currently have in stock.
Bro where I live I have see this same laptop with RTX 4050 and cost around 850 us dollars for 16gb ram and 1tb ssd I think you should review it because it makes more sense, according to 2024 and by the way, video is great as always ❤😊
I got a laptop for a steal at Costco.. in 2020 I bought an HP with a core i-5 10th gen (forgot which one, but it was for my wife to do word processing) and a 512gb NVMe drive with 16gb ram, windows Hello and a touch screen for $399. It was a back to school special and they sold out fast. Still feels like a great laptop for what we do with it, not a gaming laptop but Costco gets some deals… just need to look.
Acer used to be amazing. in 2008, i bought an amazing Acer Monitor. It was 23 inch 1080, 5ms, DVI, HDMI, VGA Audio in and out, Built in speakers, matte finish and great color 60fps. Had it from 2008 - 2021. It never let me down. I went monitor hunting for about 2 months buying and returning monitors. It was 80 bucks brand new! Any monitor with those specs were at least double. I even returned the ones i got from micro center all those years ago. I grew up with microcenter just a town away. However, times change and when acer was bought by Dell in 2012ish it was never the same impressive company as when Acer first started. My first pc (bought with my own money )was an Acer as well.
Here's why you shouldn't buy any gaming PC from Costco. The first thing you notice in this laptop... RTX 2050. The rest of the specs? Probably for a much higher spec GPU. Desktops are the same way. They buy the middle of the road GPU and pair it with the expensive other specs, price it high, then heavily discount it.
Got my first gaming laptop from Walmart. Was awesome. 1060 and I7, second through Best Buy, 2060 and I7, and then finally ordered a custom Max spec from Alienware. I regret none of these purchases.
me watching this with the Acer Nitro V15 (i7 13620H and RTX 4050) I've just bought this new year: In all honesty though, I've taken care of it very well (as per all my things, I don't like dusty places and stuffs) and I'm very happy with it!
most people who buy it from costco do so because of the return policy and customer service, we had a toshiba tv die in about 1.5 years, they sent a repair guy and that did not fix it, costco took it back and issued a full credit towards a new tv. I recall people taking advantage of the generous policy, and costco having to walk it back a lot because some people were using it to upgrade devices rather than for genuine issues.
costco sells laptops at MSRP because there isn't a lot of wiggle room for their wholesale price. they also get custom models just for them. what you really have to watch for is the 9 or 0 at the end of the price. a 9 means its restocking, and a zero means its on clearance and will be going down in price every 10 days until it sells out and they aren't getting them back. you can get some pretty good deals for prebuilt gaming PCs that aren't going to be upgradeable if you pay attention at your local store. they also sometimes have hard drives and other tech for really cheap prices just to get rid of them.
Around 3 years ago I bought a MSI laptop GE76 Raider for $1100 usd on sale ($300 off) 11800H 3060 17” 144hz screen free 2 year warranty etc. compared the price with Micro Center, Best Buy, Newegg. Plus the kickback dollars from Costco and their Visa card added 4% off in later credits. I don’t consider Costco a bad place to purchase electronics.
8:12 I recommend just undervolting both the CPU through whatever xtu, throttlestop etc. And then undervolting the GPU through MSI afterburner. I’ve been doing this for years on my laptop and it’s helped the battery, component life and most importantly temperatures by like 15°C
i've noticed prices online vs in warehouse are more expensive. I believe cause they have "free" delivery that's hidden in the cost. can find stuff cheaper in the store, get the 4% back(negates membership costs usually) and 2 year warranty. becomes a better deal at that point
I know in the UK people buy expensive TVs from Costco because you effectively get the extended warranty as part of your membership, I assume that extends to laptops etc too.
Alright, maybe they don't have good laptops, but I just saw a 34" 3440x1440 ultra wide display with 165hz for $250. I was so tempted to get it, but I feel if I just wait a year or so, I can probably get the same deal widespread with maybe even better specs. Costco is very hit or miss. But when they hit. They hit.
2 years ago when a 3060 Ti cost $1400, a gaming laptop looked super sweet. I got a 3080 with 11th gen i7 for $1599 back then and have no regrets. Still want a console for my living room though.
I picked up this acer and it’s aight at best. Speced good enough to run whatever you throw at it fairly decently. Two major things that bothered me about this laptop the most was the built quality of the materials and how the design of the vents blows hot air onto the screen.
I just got done repairing an old rig with an i5-4460, GTX 1080 and 12gb of mismatched ram. Going over the parts availability it would cost about $500 to build it from scratch and it can surprisingly still handle most games pretty well, Ghost of Tsushima can run maxed out at 1440p with FSR3-quality and maintain 50fps. What could possibly make this system worth a grand? I was thinking half that.
That seems so weird that this Nitro laptop has a 2050. When almost two years ago i got a Nitro laptop with 12th gen Core i5 and a 3050 during Black Friday for that price. Moral of the story, wait for back to school or black friday for gaming laptops and you'll get better deals pretty much.
Had to get a laptop for college. Settled on an MSI 4070 and 13th gen i7 for about 1200 on sale through Costco. Good investment. I'm just bummed that I gotta spend a lotta money on food in the dorms instead of daily 1.50 hotdog combos.
huh convenient. I was actually planning to google if Micro Center was open in Charlotte yet cuz I'm considering upgrading my build when the 50 series of NVidia cards comes out and was thinking I'd like to buy from a place near me than online this time.
I got an Acer swift X 16 in the fall and it’s great. Technically it’s a creator laptop, not gaming, but it has a 3.2k 120Hz screen, a Ryzen 7940 and an RTX 4050. I got it on sale from B&H for $1200 US
My dad bought his current desktop PC at Costco. I can't speak for the quality of the machine, but the customer service is genuinely quite good. I think it might be time for him to replace the entire thing, though, given its age and the fact that he never quits complaining about it being too slow (mechanical hard drive - go figure). Speaking of Costco, each time I go shopping there, my cart is only about 1/10 full because I'm only buying for one person. I sometimes feel out of place seeing everyone else's carts, most of which are are loaded up with enough food and supplies to last them through a zombie apocalypse and the fallout from nuclear war.
very truthful! also, I have seen the general reason people buy expensive things from Costco is the no questions asked return policy along with in general, double the warranty length! can be useful?!
That price is crazy! My youngest daughter just bought one directly from Acer and it was US$980 and came with an i7-13700H and a 4060! We stopped going to Costco a few years ago and switched to Sam's Club. The only thing I miss from Costco are those big hot dogs! Those things are awesome!
Costco return policy is unmatched. My dad bought a three pack of frozen pizzas from Costco and didn't like how the pizza tasted at all so he returned it. Even with one pizza being eaten out of three they still gave him a full refund. Sure, their prices are average or above average but how do you value the kind of protection Costco gives through their return policy. They do full refunds no questions asked.
Not a 'better place to buy electronics'- no, the BEST place to buy electronics. Newegg used to be better, but they've kinda been falling off over the last few Years. I just got a great bundle deal on a 12600kf/a decent 200 dollar MB and 16gb of DDR4 3200 mid range memory for 250 (400-500 bought individually), at the time of this comment they still have the same deal- I might even get another of the same bundle if I get a bit of extra cash. I really wish they had more stores around the World so more People had access to them. This is my Adult Toy Store (hardware store is number 2!). I'm lucky that I have one about 15 minutes away. I'm sorry for all you folks who don't have one nearby, we need more brick/mortar PC shops like this. And no, I'm not a shill, I'm just very happy with everything I've ever bought there. Thanks for another grand vid :D
Should get one of those wall Watt meters so we can see the difference between pref and normal power profiles, but then again going by the MSi AB the watts look the same - lol -.
I think they’re the best for things like Apple products, since you know they’re the most up to date and you can consistently get a discount on almost all of them
Got my iPad Pro 4th gen 11in from Costco. Got the 256g version with the price of 128 anywhere else, not even secondhands were that cheap, probably due to higher electronic prices here compared to the US
Similar to buying anything at Costco - if you see it and like it -you have to buy it or you will never see it again. They do get some pretty nice tech in every once and a while - each warehouse also seems to get different things too.
I bought the same laptop but with an RTX 4050 from Amazon, and though it was open box i got it for an absolute steal at $815 US, and honestly the laptop does get loud, and the battery gives me like 3 hours on a lucky day, the performance for the money i paid is bonkers.
I've bought my past 3 TV's from Costco, aside from the price being significantly cheaper the main selling point was the 5 year warranty that comes standard.
The Costco near my home in Washington state has an IBuyPower gaming desktop pc for around $1300. It has a I7 CPU, 4070 graphics card and 32 GB of ram. Not a bad deal. I've had pretty good luck with the IBuyPower PC's in the past.
I would imagine, like you mentioned that their buyer base would be LAN centres and the like. Its business based rather than consumer based sales. Thats their focus
My Acer's like that too! It's an Aspire A515-56, as a non-gaming model I don't think it came with fan controls in Windows, and it has no ACPI or anything to control it from Linux. But I found a setup for nbfc that let me set a fan curve. Turns out, just like the one you had, stock settings never get the fan up to full speed; and getting it to full speed makes for a massive increase in fan noise with only about a 5 degree difference in temps.
I purchased my Acer Nitro 5 from Best Buy last July. It was a refurb of the 2022 model. Intel i5-12500H with a mobile RTX3050 Ti. Cost me $570 US. So maybe going the refurb route is the way to go.
You can nab some really good deals from Costco. Monitors can a good find. The availability/selection can be a lost miss for little hit. So take that for what it is. Plus, Acer can make a good budget laptop.
Costco and the like tend to be trailing edge in terms of laptop supply. This means that they are behind the technology curve, but also that their prices remain stable while places like Amazon will adjust more according to supply and demand and newer tech.
I actually got a great deal on a Costco gaming PC. It was originally $1300 and then they dropped the price to $1100. What’s amazing is that for that price? It came with a 16 GB 4060 TI. The system is small too perfect for the living room. I turned it into a Home Theater PC gaming system and everything I’ve thrown at it thanks to Nvidia tech and toys run super smooth even at high to ultra settings.
The audacity to make a vid about costco and their laptops to then have an ad about micro center. I like it
Best part being there isn't a micro center in Canada and last I checked they don't ship here either
Might be nice to buy from Micro-center if I didn't have to drive 3 states to do it.
Might be nice to buy from Microcenter if i didn't have to order from another continent across the Atlantic ocean.
Well, unlike Micro Center, you can actually buy a laptop online from Costco. Also, you don't buy a PC at Costco that isn't on sale.
Sounds really good👍🏻
Thinking about doing this with the MSI laptop I bought in 2021 that is literally falling apart.
I can't afford the data for the 4k content and I would rather have half the pixels at 3x the framerate.
thought they dont do returns on electornics dam
I've got a whole Costco membership, I'll use my whole Costco membership.
Can’t argue with that. 😂
It's also my understanding that Costco has a legitimately good return policy, so if you get a dud you should be able to return it easily.

It's also worth pointing out when looking at Costco online prices that if they are carried in store as well, they are much cheaper in store.
That’s what I was thinking after reading all the comments. I may do a follow up video to investigate. Thanks for the comment.
Not different pricing on computers. A lot of the computers online have a $14.99 shipping charge in the US and are priced identically to in store. Larger items that ship via freight have shipping charges built into the cost of the product. -Costco electronics employee.
@@DawidDoesTechStuffdon't do it costco will consume you
I’m probably going to be buried under a lot of other comments, but I do feel like I should clarify a couple things.
Don't they give an additional year of warranty for free too or is that just for their tvs?
Once broke a TV from Costco as I was setting it up, it tipped over and smashed into the side of a speaker
Costco took it and replaced it for free
I've always returned things in good condition but they will take anything back from what I have seen and that is a huge bonus as a customer.
you definitely don't work for them ;)
Thanks for this very detailed breakdown of your experience.

@@DawidDoesTechStuffin store prices are usually better, but the selection is even more limited.

Absolutely. Even if it's just a two-digit number, my right hand instinctively goes to the numpad. It's the first box I tick when looking for a laptop.
Even during gaming I use the numpad for hot keys. When I worked from home as a credit agent I used it extensively too.

Selection varies quite a bit at costco
Sometimes there is good deals sometimes not so much
they usually dont carry much low end stuff, from my experience working retail that is a good thing as we had so many returns on low end stuff
Main reason to buy at Costco is their 2 year warranty (if you buy with costco mastercard) and long return policy
2 year warranty is included and is handled over the counter same day (at least thats how they do it at my local costco)

That's actually an impressive cooling setup for a laptop, as in it actually works and is thought out well
It only had to handle a 45w GPU and 30w CPU.
many gaming laptops nowadays runs very cool, I had a razer blade 14 3080, and it was running pes 2019 at 59 degree on the gpu, while in the latest AAA games they were running at mid to high 60 in the gpu, it had vapor chamber btw so much better cooling than that acer
it just depends on the laptop, if its a cheap msi gf63 then its gonna be hot
as for cpu temps it doesn't matter even latest desktop cpu reaches 100degrees, its the gpu temp that matters, and in some of the latest gaming laptops its very impressive

Hey Dawid, this is not a fair comparison. you have to go into the warehouse to find the deals and the member pricing will be better. The online store allows non-members to shop but the prices for non-members are inflated
Yes Costco online prices are higher than they are in club.

They buy the middle of the road GPU and pair it with the expensive other specs, price it high, then heavily discount it.

the reason for buying electronics at costco is because their warranty service is actually incredible.
i really love janky videos, this one was so good
most people who buy it from costco do so because of the return policy and customer service, we had a toshiba tv die in about 1.5 years, they sent a repair guy and that did not fix it, costco took it back and issued a full credit towards a new tv.

Plus the kickback dollars from Costco and their Visa card added 4% off in later credits. I don’t consider Costco a bad place to purchase electronics.
i just went to costco exclusively for the 1.50 hot dogs, me and my friends had a really good time.

Looking forward to your classic videos where you disassemble pre-built gaming computers
I've bought my past 3 TV's from Costco, aside from the price being significantly cheaper the main selling point was the 5 year warranty that comes standard.
I am from Ukraine, you are the only English-speaking blogger I watch even though I don't even know English, I love you very much.
1000 for a rtx 2050 sheesh I was complaining abt my rtx 3060 laptop for 850
I wish they had a Micro center in Clearwater FL.
2:00 omg Dawid you're hilarious with the chuckles lollll
I actually got a great deal on a Costco gaming PC. It was originally $1300 and then they dropped the price to $1100. What’s amazing is that for that price? It came with a 16 GB 4060 TI. The system is small too perfect for the living room. I turned it into a Home Theater PC gaming system and everything I’ve thrown at it thanks to Nvidia tech and toys run super smooth even at high to ultra settings.
I think one thing i find with costco is that their seletion and pricing in store is usually much better than online.
I got a sweet deal on an AMD HP Omen system last year on Black Friday. Good deals still out there just have to keep your eyes peeled
Wow, I don't think I've ever seen a comments section in praise of a company like this.
Actually feel like getting a membership after reading them
