Base sound is similar, the v10 does have a little bit more overtones than i5, the difference is pretty subtle. Funny how 5-10 sound similar but 4-8 is worlds apart
It sounds crazy but the i3 deisel engines have a very close tone compatible to v8s obviously they don't carry the same notes in the very high revs due to the lack of power or capacity available at high load but my old i3 TDI was like a Cummins at low loads upto 4k. Pulled like one too 😂😂😂😂

But ferrari's flat plane sounds somewhat similar to inline 4 in high revs
Also, 6 cylinder inline, v6, F6, V12, w12 have same base tone
