The issue I and numerous other's have with this round table is OBVIOUS! Seriously, you had just ONE person there who voted for the President. Secondly, this group of individuals DOES NOT REPRESENT the US as a whole, it's evident because we have a Conservative President. The only way to resolve any issues is to have a balance and I noticed as soon as you mentioned the President's name "Trump" almost every person there groaned or made a face. This would not be a reliable consensus at all. The only young lady who wasn't biased against normal thinking was the Trump supporter.
@@MessengerRising The question is not when it is happening but who will be in it. If they rush it and fill it with all soyboys then it'll be shit. Get some people on like Dr.Jordan Peterson, Dr.Warren Farrell, etc so that the serious shit doesn't get glossed over.
“I’m not denying anything. I don’t have that much knowledge of it. So I’m listening, and I’m learning” I feel like if there is one core thing to take from this video it is that one statement because it speaks volumes.
I agree and I also admire those women for that because trans women's rights are often disregarded MASSIVELY in the republican/conservative wave of politics so, as an LGBT woman and supporter, it really hits that they wanted to be informed and learn about the problems so many strong women face daily.
Except she said this and they all continued to silence the trans woman. It’s all very well acknowledging your ignorance if you do nothing to address your structural privilege.
Perhaps in the US, but in other parts of the world thats DEFINITELY acceptable. Btw drugs can destroy someone's life just like sexual assault can, and in US, where addiction to drugs in general is a major problem, i dont really it as a wild take. Y'all are just cool with normalizing absurd stuff
The representation thing is mostly about men who are in charge that know nothing about being a woman and still are in charge of deciding what happens with us. Having females on the board would at least help provide insight on what we need and want. It doesn’t make sense to rule over somebody who you don’t relate to
@usa girl excuse me? It sounds like you don’t know the definition and meaning of the black lives matter movement the movement is to spread awareness and get justice for police brutality victims and hate crime victims it’s equality not superiority
I’ve been LOOKING for this comment she got praise when she made the comment she made about not knowing things pertaining to trans people so she was “listening and learning” YET SHE COMPARED SMOKING A DRUG TO SEXUAL ASSAULT like I wanted to throw up
YESSSS, I'm barely seeing anyone talk about this in the comments. She has such a small mind view on all of these things. Voting for Trump because hes a millionare and she would like to become one too, comparing weed to SA, not comprehending how race can become a factor in politics, and so much more. I have no clue how she wasn't challenged more on her views, they're crazy! It really seems like her political stance was brought up purely by the media and conspiracy theories, especially when she mentioned Beyonce and kept talking about how Hillary tried to "try her" but Donald Trump didn't. @@KFA8piece
This is the first panel I've seen where no one aggressively dominated the conversation, everyone got equal voice time, and everyone seemed to actually respect each other, what a great mix of people! I felt like I learned a lot on this one. Well done! 💙

I’m gonna have to somewhat disagree. The young woman in the red jacket sitting in the front row talked over people a lot, at times cutting them off and raising her voice to better control the conversation by drowning out other people’s voices, and by extension their opinion.
Tbf it’s also how the series is produced and edited. They take out anything boring or irrelevant so it could see one side dominates but can also be one side just not being good at debate

And imagine complaining about Clinton corruption as if Trump doesn’t have a record of tax fraud. You people just want to live in your own world
The problem is, as presidential candidates they're not allowed to be open minded. They have to be "on brand" for what their campaign is already about, otherwise they'll lose supporters. Hell, they don't even nod when others are speaking because they can't agree to shit. The way things work is too corrupt for it to be like this sadly.
The woman in the yellow jacket did right by calling out the clown in black to her right who approaches voting as if it's a silly joke. In fact, every time the woman in black spoke I lost more faith in humanity.
I would’ve been much more interested in hearing these Individuals reconvene 4 years later, than the most recent version of this debate. This was a thoughtful discussion where everyone shared and listened. I felt like I came away with away new knowledge and questions for myself. The most recent version had a chaotic and hostile vibe to it. Very divisive instead of trying to foster a conversation.

And also if your only way of gaging people's worth and intelligence is from physical appearance.... than you're absolutely wrong for that. @mar not necessarily. On a large scale that is true, but it is very possible to have a libertarian socialist system when you are dealing with small groups, the authoritarianism only becomes necessary and inherent to socialism once the group in question exceeds a hundred people or so.

Two reasons. One, it's plain honesty, and second, it's a show that she isn't just there to assert her views or support some agenda. She has a differing view from others, and unlike the way most people seem to behave, she's genuinely interested to know why others see things the way they do.

It's sad that this is refreshing. It used to be the case that "pro-choice" people wanted abortion to be "safe, legal, and rare." I want all of us to try to minimize the need and incidence of abortion, regardless of our various stances. That shouldn't be an ideological issue.
That’s because “Feminist for Life” don’t get any media play. Their mesg is rarely heard. If you think she’s great. This talk from the president of “Feminist for Life” is beautifully amazing!!! Such an honest convo without shaming or berating others.
ddlyify that’s true. There are more abortions among the black population in New York City than there are live births. There seems to be a disregard for protection and safe sex. Abortion would not be a huge issue as it is now if we went to the root of the issue. And there are a lot of issues that should be solved by tackling the roots instead of the aftermath. @Ann while I can admit that yes trump has actually done stuff for the black community, he has also been openly racist towards them. with his words and sometimes his actions he has created this climate where white supremacists are more vocal and more racist. I won’t necessarily jump into his policies but the way he wouldn’t condemn white supremacy and said “there were fine people on both sides” fuels the fire for racists to be more vocal. overall even though he has done good for the black community with some of his policies, he has helped create this horrible climate for them and for minorities in general. we cannot have someone who cannot filter themselves and cannot do the simple thing of just saying “I condemn white supremacy” in the oval office.

My initial reaction to the young lady wearing the red jacket was “why would they put her on the panel?” But as I dug deeper, the respectability politics and assumption of a monolithic “black community” underpinning that thought really jumped out at me. So the question became, “why not put her on the panel?” Because the reality is that there are black women who think the same way she does. And when I think about the goals and aims of a (black) women’s movement, the desired outcome is to uplift ALL women; not just the women we agree with and deem “respectable.”
this was pleasant to read, you have a great thought process and more people need to understand this, representation, good or bad, is representation. seeing the girl in red will let people understand and know that women like her exist, but they are still women and deserve to actively partake in these discussions because they represent something.
This was a great comment and great point. At first, I was thinking why did they let her on. As I listened I was like oh well hold on a minute, she is making very good points.
I agree. I don’t agree with red jacket on pretty much any point, but I don’t think it is fair for people to call her uneducated or dumb. She actually seems like she does make an effort to understand social issues but unfortunately these are the conclusions she’s come to lol.

why tho ? that’s what you at least have to do
Two reasons. One, it's plain honesty, and second, it's a show that she isn't just there to assert her views or support some agenda.
She has a differing view from others, and unlike the way most people seem to behave, she's genuinely interested to know why others see things the way they do.

I don’t believe she meant what she said about voting for him as a “joke.”Even though she tried to recant that statement, I believe she intentionally voted for Trump. It was right after she said it that she immediately felt condemnation from other ladies, therefore, she blurted out this nonsense of voting for him as a joke. She wasn’t true to her beliefs and seemed more concerned about what the other ladies thought of her. I voted for Trump the 2nd time around and I have no problem admitting it.

I agree!
ddlyify that’s true. There are more abortions among the black population in New York City than there are live births. There seems to be a disregard for protection and safe sex. Abortion would not be a huge issue as it is now if we went to the root of the issue.
And there are a lot of issues that should be solved by tackling the roots instead of the aftermath. High crime rates in minority communities? Police reforms are one response, but a much better one would be increasing education quality for children there and increasing community works and employment.

@Ann what are u talking abt?? ur comment has nothing to do with the comment u replied too
@Ann while I can admit that yes trump has actually done stuff for the black community, he has also been openly racist towards them. with his words and sometimes his actions he has created this climate where white supremacists are more vocal and more racist.
