    Killer guitars! Thanks for sharing the differences! For heel-adjust truss rods, I just throw a capo on the first fret, then loosen the strings enough to pop the neck off. That seems to be quickest way to adjust them. Even on Telecasters (where the pickguard is easily removed without disturbing the strings & pickups), I still prefer to just pop the neck off for truss rod adjustments; much better leverage with the screwdriver, and no risk of stripping the head.

      Thanks for watching and commenting! I may try that with this one since it has the neck anchors there's much less likelihood of stripping it out. On the anchorless versions, I think I won't do this since I don't want to cause wear and tear that's not necessary

    Thanks for all your help with these. Would you be able to help confirm mine? It was bought as a gift for me brand new in 1998 from an authorized dealer. Should be American made Custom shop. But for some reason the serial number is not recognized? Maybe somehow, I can send you some Pics? Absolutely love it regardless. Thanks for all your help!

      For the Fender Custom Shop builds, I believe you will have to call Fender, or email them to validate the serial number. They didn't make too many one off builds, but I'd love to see it!

    It is really interesting, on mine the neck is way thicker then all of my other Strats. Also mine has shallower scallops and round, no V

      I'd imagine it may have a lot to do with where it was made

      Nice! Did it have a date in the neck pocket? I believe those were the ST68-YJM at that point. Same thing, just different designation

    I found an ST68-185 on Ebay for a reasonable price. Itching to pull the trigger on it...

      They're fantastic guitars!

      @@xounlistedxox one strange thing about Japanese sellers on eBay is that the same guitar is listed under multiple different sellers for varying prices. What do you think about that? Have you bought any guitars from Japan on eBay? If so how was the purchasing experience? Most people I’ve asked say these aren’t scam listings and that it’s safe to buy from them, but I’m a little skeptical. Thanks!

    • @xounlistedxox
      @xounlistedxox  6 месяцев назад

      @dammitcarl1082 yup, I've seen that multiple times! They are resellers. Think about it like this, if you went to a local shop and saw a guitar for sale, then listed it for sale on ebay. That's exactly what most of those are. I have bought from Japan a few times, but only from actual stores in Japan.

      @@xounlistedxox sounds like a pretty iffy practice to me. The prices are right and the sellers have 99% and higher ratings, but i’ll consider not buying on Ebay. Thanks for the response!

    • @xounlistedxox
      @xounlistedxox  6 месяцев назад

      @dammitcarl1082 of course! Often times you'll buy from that seller, then they refund your money because it's out of stock

    Which yngwie model has the bridge pickup+ neck pickup out of phase? It has a 3 position strat blade selector switch. Yngwie would use this with his 80s rack pitch shifter unit which was what pitch shifter?
