@bengoldstein964 The real secret is to simply turn the JP-2C up. It's gotta be at noon to 2 o'clock to unleash the real sound. Once you do that, it really opens it up and gets rid of the boxiness, and it is an absolutely incredible amp

@Gabetorres1976 I had a boss MS-3 for awhile and I planned on using it to control the VII via Midi, but it really wasn't very good, so I got rid of it before I could even try it out. You should be able to control channel and effects switching via midi!

@@totc6196 fractal doesn’t have a virtual EQF-2? I can only go by Flemmings notes and all it shows for most of justice is the amps and two EQF-2’s so very difficult to say about the rane eq. Any time I play MoP or Justice, my 1984 T75’s sound closer than any of my other speakers

@@xounlistedxox it does the problem is you can’t but it in the loop so the effect is to drastic I’ve tried everything. I say on puppets and ride if you look at the caps they are larger and they have that tone. I think justice and up were the original g12 vintage.

@@xounlistedxox makes sense as they don’t vary much from the 65s. I’ve even heard they just stuck a different back on them same speaker 777 cone I believe.

I interviewed Flemming he doesn’t remember like details with speakers and cabs.

@@totc6196 the only notes said “Cabs 300w” so I assumed T75’s. For justice my guess based on tone experimenting would be a blend of speakers including v30 & t75

@maczepa I've heard it's a good pedal and have seen some gold examples with it for sure. Haven't tried it myself since it's a bit more expensive. The PMEQ, as I mentioned in the video, is specifically made to mirror how the EQF-2 was used on Master of Puppets. So if you're sinply chasing that tone you might as well spend a but less and grab a PMEQ

Yeah, I agree, I’m surprised at how close the pedal gets to the real thing. It’s not a totally accurate replacement, but for the price and convenience, you can’t go wrong.

A lot of guys were running the eqs right into the front of the amp

@@BCyr1991 yes they did both at the same time a Furman PQ in front of the amp and also a Furman EQ in the effects loop of the amp

I have thought about this, but man that would a challenge. But then again, if you read flemmings notes they essentially used the same settings on one PEQ on Justice as MoP, then the 2nd PEQ was different so it may not be too bad. The bigger challenge is that one of my PMEQ's is the early one and the other is a much later one. Both dial in completely differently, so my settings may not translate well for other folks.

@mesaseany hey brother, I really appreciate that! Unfortunately, Mesa is absolutely terrible at launches. There are zero dealers with any in stock or in hopes of getting some in stock before February. I called all the big dealers, and they all pretended not to know anything about it when there were many folks saying they pre-ordered theirs. I contacted Kris at Boogie, and he said that he would forward my info to Boogie Marketing department, but reiterated they don't have any stock, and I can't buy it from them. At this point, I think it's already too late to make it worthwhile for my channel. The same exact thing happened with the Mark VII launch. I haven't heard anything from Boogie Marketing, so I'm guessing I'll have to sit this one out. Unfortunately.

@mesaseany often times in my videos description, I will put the settings that I used, so you can try some of those settings! I'm sure the manual likely has some suggested settings as well. Those typically sound pretty good, then you can adjust from there to your liking! The Marks are definitely a tough code to crack at first, ehuch is likely why theres so many folks saying they didn't like them, etc. If you take the time to tinker, you can get just about any tone imaginable!

There are a couple of ways to get a green one: Find a Japanese ST71-140YM from the mid 2000's, these were technically Aged Sonic Blue, which appears to be more like a Sea Foam Green. Get a YJM Standard from the early 90's these are also Aged Sonic Blue Find a USA model that is naturally aged Sonic Blue. Oftentimes, these will be found in Japan, but they're pretty infrequent.

@ thank you so much man! That helps a lot and it’s a 2024 model. Not a custom shop just the normal $2350 one. Needs a bit fret and nut work but after setting it up plays much better. The e string def is close to the edge. Other than that she literally sings and has great sustain. Love the guitar and definitely a first to my future collection.

Great question! I feel embarrassed though. I haven't spent much time examining serial numbers. Based on that serial # alone, the only guess I would have is that its likely a 2005. I'm going to have to set down and do some more research here for sure!

@TheFalkk yeah, so based on your serial number, yours is a 2005 build. That means yours is the later version with the larger DiMarzio logos on the pickups and likely have HS-3, HS-4, HS-4, no bulllet truss rod, etc. The 2005 in particular, they used a different material for the pickguard that will yellow quite a bit more than other years, but also they did something different with the paint, so 2005 models tend to have more issues with paint flaking off or cracking. Still very well made otherwise 👌

@toto5037 thanks for watching and commenting! Great idea for a video, I think I would probably need some better tools to help isolate the 400 better for this purpose. That's why I haven't really tried this yet. The Strategy adds a thump or a push that most likely only the Coliseum power section can provide. It's extremely aggressive and like a Mark series on steroids. It has a lot more bark/bite and really moves a LOT of air. It's extremely tight, too. It definitely pushes the low end to different levels than just an amp alone. From my understanding it's essentially two Coliseum power sections right next to eachother. That's why I wanted to get one, then you can basically create your own Coliseum from any other amp!

@mirkojovanovic3216 I would definitely agree here, the Duncans are a much more well rounded pickup overall. They have more output that it quite noticeable when playing. You can always dial it back a little to still sound like the HS-3 & HS-4 too. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Hey, thank you, much appreciated! This is exactly the point of the Head 2 Head Series! Folks always talk about how different the Mark series is, but I find that they are actually all very similar when you dial in the settings the same, or as close as possible. I always go for mid gain on the IV's!
