If the ZV-E10 goes on sale I’ll buy a second one to take with me so the one in the studio can stay put
It's been on sale for forever. It's not going to get much cheaper
Something to save up for! 😁
The comparison i need! Straight to the point. GREAT Video explanation
Yay, glad it was helpful!! What kind of content do you create?
The upgrades aren't huge so don't warrant an upgrade from the original I have. I'd rather invest in another lens tbh. Thanks for the honest assessment.
Totally agree!
Vlogging without stabilization with a 300$ increase in price. A swing and a miss.
She didn't mention the part where the new version shoots in 10-bit 422 SLog3. And it does have electronic stabilization, which from what I have seen on other channels, is quite good. I would recommend a wider lens (i.e. 11mm) for vlogging if that's a big part of your content.
Nah you are missing.
The requirements for vlogging are a little different from streaming/recording in a studio, which is what this focuses on.
The Mk II is better in every way, except no mechanical shutter and cost. The cost is the biggest issue, I just got the Mark I for £420 on sale, vs Mark II at pre-order of £925. I'm sure the Mark II will drop in price eventually, but that's a huge increase. Until I have issue with rolling shutter, or need tech specs like 4k60, 10bit, 600mbps, luts on HDMI output. The Mark I is great value. The price increase pushes it too close to A6700 (£1169) or FX30 (£1429)
Yep, there's a cost/benefit factor to consider in all tech!
Thanks! Everything I needed to know ❤
Awesome! What’s your verdict?
I'm naught but an armchair videomaker, but if I were choosing between the old one and the new one, I'd go with the new. I like the upgrades, particularly the wonderfully analog sliding switch on top.
I don't understand the point about the HDMI adaptor. Can you explain it better? What is the difference between right or left sides?
Ah great question! It'll be the direction in which it goes, so if you have the wrong adapter, you could wind up with a weird cable going UP and the cables awkwardly flowing vs going DOWN and easier to cable manage.
Lots and lots of reviews for this camera. One thing we are going to become more aware of is the real elephant in the room, the a6700. Pricier it is, but more feature laden it is. It has the focusing tech from the A7R5, meaning it has the AI chip. It has more buttons for those who love buttons. It has the same excellent sensor, viewing monitor PLUS an EVF for those bright sunny days. I had the zV-E10, and it is an absolutely fun camera. I think for beginners and studio work, the cheaper alternative is preferred. Those who want the slightly better technology and much better battery and will have the ZV on a gimble or buried in a cage, the Mk. II is the better choice. For the run and gunner, nothing beats the a6700.
I did a video about why I choose the a6100 for studios! ruclips.net/video/exiR-aJr1jE/видео.htmlsi=V1_IUY4fGlI2glxN
why would you use a dummy battery and not the USB c power which also passes the streaming signal at the same time??
Happy to help! (ruclips.net/video/z3RXEID5lZA/видео.html)
So, what was the part "they're not telling [us]"?
That's covered in the video - but basically that it's not really designed for dedicated in-studio use for video/live streaming.
I just bought a second zv-e10 because my original one is permanently mounted in my elgato teleprompter. I knew a new one was not far away, but assumed it would be late this year. I'm glad that be saving at least $500AUD and it doesn't seem like I'm missing much. The money saved can buy me another sigmas lens.
I've got the 16mm, 30mm. I've got the sony 50mm and the kit lens. I'm going to get the sigma 18-50 to upgrade the zoom lens.
That's a great plan!
Nope, not buying one. I prefer Lumix and Blackmagic cameras.
Exactly
It's all about what works best for you! 👍
Thanks for the video! helped a lot!
How's the ZV-E10ii vs iPhone 15 Pro? considering upgrade now to a real camera for youtube videos.
the iphone 15 pro would not stand a chance , infact it would be a slaughter. The bit rate of the I phone is 55 Mb/s whilst the 10 ii does 600 Mb/s and the sensor is also 10x larger . There is no comparision seriously
As someone who started with iPhones and still uses them for some broll, the Sony cameras either mark 1 or 2 will be a game changing improvement. The mark 1 with proper lighting gives me THE RUclips look I want
@@BrailleSounds Thanks for sharing, I’m trying to find the best look I can get, lighting improved my iPhone videos by much but the ProRes LOG sizes are enormous, made me think about a camera, what lenses do you use?
This will help you decide on a lens: ruclips.net/video/I-q10y8J7wo/видео.htmlsi=hXt6oEPfhgpSRSc3
I am in the planning stage of creating live video and general video instructional tutorials, as shown in Master Art Classes, for Bead Woven and Bead Embroidered Jewelry making. I am very green to photography and video production. I have made a few test videos with my cell phone and loved it, but the quality was not professional. I need a good overhead set up to shoot close-ups of very small beads and thread. Would this camera work for this application? I love your videos and appreciate all the time and effort you put into them. Thank you!
Also what would be the best lens to use and if the standard one that comes with the kit will work? thanks!
Yep, this can work as an overhead camera!
Have you checked out this video? ruclips.net/video/I-q10y8J7wo/видео.html It might help you choose.
I've never used use a dummy battery with my original ZV-E10. Can you still run the new model connecting a USB-C cable for power? (Power tip: just make sure you use a high Output ≥1.8A USB wall adapter)
This might help you decide: ruclips.net/video/z3RXEID5lZA/видео.htmlsi=sBBvrB8M5LlGuPeR
Great video, but I'm looking to buy the A6700 as my first camera because I want more out of a camera.
Most of my community don't need anything more than this so I'd rather people put that extra budget towards something else. If you have specific reasons for selecting a more expensive camera, then absolutely go for it!! :)
I literally JUST purchased 2 additional ZVE-10s for a 3 camera podcast set up and along comes news of the mark ii. I was going to return one of them and upgrade, but your video is saving me $300. Thank you!
@@kevinellis1232 LOL thanks bud!
Glad I could help!
Great video as always Luria! Hope you're all doing well over there 😊
Hi there, always good to hear from you!
I’m not. im looking to add a second ZVE-10 for a second angle and I want them both to have the same quality. Now I’m hoping the original goes in sale.
Good plan!
Does the Face and Eye Autofocus still work when it’s connected to an external monitor trough HDMI?
Yes, those camera settings are available regardless of your set up.
I'll buy someone's old ZVE10
Hehe I’ve got about 14 lying around here… 😆
@@LiveStreamingProsare you selling any? Need a business webinar camera
Glad you mentioned mini HDMI, the weakest point on this brilliant camera. Easy to wreck it if unplugging a lot. I bought the SmallRig cage and HDMI adaptor which means you can use full size HDMI. Thanks for a great video as always
Yeah any camera of this category has micro HDMI. I do have a video on this specifically coming out. Very easy to damage the port for sure!
I have the original I don’t plan on upgrading as of yet I will focus on upgrading lenses in order to get the pro look great video do you have any lens recommendations?
This might help: ruclips.net/video/I-q10y8J7wo/видео.htmlsi=3am-l9rGH6JjbYiT Hope you'll let us know how it goes!
Luria....thank you this was a huge help in making a decision
Glad I could help!
I would love to know why a studio video-shooter might want this over a Sony A6000 series, or vice versa!
This has the new sensor but truthfully this still hasn't given me a reason to trade up from my a6300. The a6700 does but the price is too much. A7SIII same thing. They keep pushing up base prices but no reason to buy.
I have a video coming out about that soon!
4k60 10bit 422 with reliable af for 1k vs 1,4k for a6700.
The no ibis part also works better in a proffesional setup since ibis still jitters when turned off.
There you go
Thanks for the highlights on this new camera 🙌
Yeah… I’ll probably pre order it tomorrow 🤭
Awesome! What’s your favorite feature?
there is one point you missed out, the mark ii does not have the HORRIBLE rolling shutter issue of the original that haD TO BE FIXED IN Sony Catalyst Browse. That alone is worth it, also the mark 1 max bit rate is only 100 Mb/s the ii goes up to 600Mb/s recording rate
The rolling shutter is an issue that can happen with any camera; often caused by issues with lighting. Often you can fix it by changing your shutter speed, fps, and/or lighting, but often a combination of the 3 ends up working best.
but u can buy the og at around $500 as used. u'r not required to buy it new.. and even if new, i saw it quite a few times in my country, from a store, at about $550
Most camera shops in my city sell it for $450-$509. Tbh the upgrades on the MK2 aren’t worth it. Save the money and get better lenses. The OG is still a workhorse if you know how to use it properly.
Yep, there are lots of options!
Totally love mine!
Question: THe standard kit lens that comes with the camera, can you please inform me of what the lens filter size is please so ican order a ND filterwhen i get the camera?
You can find the specs here: electronics.sony.com/imaging/interchangeable-lens-cameras/aps-c/p/zve10m2b?srsltid=AfmBOopAcUtDxMhwa7z0F3hQbzGwZJTHJAgFjz81a15pX6C7z37OeX5X
Great job, thank you for the video
Thanks for watching!
better get the a6700
Or the a6100 - I talk about that here: ruclips.net/video/exiR-aJr1jE/видео.htmlsi=SulBvTymxjg0ZJSL
I got the original zv e10 an an a6600 I would buy the a6700 since it has an evf and ibis
Awesome! 🎉
So i guess i must say...i just bought the zv-e10 with a signa 16mm g1.4 lens just 3 months ago. I feel a little burned 🔥 bc the mark 1 will probably lose value. That being said, would an uograde for 80% video 20% picture be a 6700 or a fx30? Im just saying like in 9 months or so. I do have a Samsung ultra 24 phone ( the best camera Samsung phone ).
Also the mark 2 lut fearure. Is that in my mark 1? Im a rookie with cameras.
There's no need to feel "burned" - that's a great option that will serve you well for many, many years to come! You might want to check out this video for some context: ruclips.net/video/exiR-aJr1jE/видео.htmlsi=SulBvTymxjg0ZJSL
Best wishes for you
♥️
podcast-cam worthy?
100%!
Many improvements (like the sliding switch on top or the mics and battery) are not really an innovation, as the ZVE-10ii is basically a just somewhat crippled FX30 sensor put into a ZV-E1 body which had all these features already. Blackmagic did the same thing with the Pocket 6K mkii, they just started putting it into the body of 6K pro to save on assembly.
From my perspective, I think they’re mainly seeing these improvements as great for new buyers going forward rather than upgrades.
Hello everybody,
No, I will not buy the new ZV E10 mark ll. Because it will be a new case, a new replacement battery, a new cable, therefore it will not be a new purchase for me. In addition, there is not a lot of hope in quality when it comes to the camera. I use my ZV E10 for livestraming only and am very satisfied, if I upgrade the camera, then I wait for other models such as the fx30 mark ll.
That's a great camera - no need to upgrade if it's working for you!
Great review!!! Are the USB port specs upgraded so that you can get the same results going from USB to computer versus HDMI via Camlink 4K?
This is a comparison you might want to check out -
ruclips.net/video/aV-rgNB0EcE/видео.html but I’ll definitely do a new comparison with the new mkII!
@@LiveStreamingPros thanks for reply. My question is if the upgraded specs on the mark II are as good a capture card.
Would love to see a vid on this also
You'll still want to use a capture card...
Have you checked this out? ruclips.net/video/aV-rgNB0EcE/видео.html
I just bought the old one…LOL, but for 300 more, it ain’t that serious
😳😆 that always happens right?!?
Nope Sticking With My ZVE-10 Mk1..
This doesn't feel like much of a useful upgrade,
If I was to move Fr the E10-Mk1 it would be to the Zv E1.
Whoa why??
its MUCH better the mark 1 has a HORRIBLE rolling shutter issue that needs serious fixing in Sony Catalyst Browse, the mark 2 as its the same sensor as the a6700 and the fx30 does not have that issue. also the mark 1 has a MUCH lower max recirding bit-rate whilst the mark ii max is literally 6x higher
Rolling shutting isn't caused by the camera, it's often triggered by the lighting flicker rate being out of sync with the camera. You can adjust your fps/shutter speeds/ISO settings, anti-glare filters, power stabilizers, etc. to fix that. It just takes some time, testing, and experimenting.
Rolling shutting isn't caused by the camera, but yes, some cameras do offer options to manage it automatically.
FWIW, it's often triggered by the lighting flicker rate being out of sync with the camera. You can adjust your fps/shutter speeds/ISO settings, anti-glare filters, power stabilizers, etc. to fix that. It just takes some time, testing, and experimenting.
rather just wait and buy the new iPhone 16. :)
LOL and a phone is a great camera for sure, but unless it’s a second phone for you, then having to put it in the video setup and remove it (to use it as a phone) is a PITA and can cause you to not create at all…
@@LiveStreamingPros Hey there im moving from my Sony Xperia 1 V phone to this camera. Sadly you cannot convince I-phone/Samsung users that a camera with a 9x larger sensor 6x higher bit rate recording , larger lens higher apature etc= much better recording. For example if I- phone has just got Rack mount focus-but Sony Xperia has had that since 2019 of which they took off their highly expensive VENICE cameras. So what im saying is these Samsung /iphone users do not understand the benefit of a camera, it is not their fault as how can they ? The reason is that the phone does everything FOR them in auto and their so-called full manual mode is like the equivalent to Sony's program Auto. Whilst Sony Xperia puts an emphasis on the manual way and the interface is taken from their Alpha line of cameras anyhow. As a result by being forced to do things manually I have grown as a videographer and now ready for a camera.
oh and i agree with your point btw
I wouldn't say that - everyone has different needs, goals, and budget, so not everyone needs a camera for their recordings and live streams. Congrats on finding the option that works best for you - hope you'll enjoy your new camera!
I would rather get a Sony FX3 or FX30 tbh. Right now, I'm good with my ZV-E10 mk1
Good news!
