Gonna go ahead and order these up so I can mod my Bronco as soon as it arrives! Love the finished look of this. And thank you for the PSA; bigger tires do look great, but not at the expense of a safety feature. I'll be going with the 33's like you did and keeping those crash bars!
I agree the little things matter, and I am also being really careful not to add too much. For example, I have thought a lot about adding a white stripe on the side, but for now I am just really happy about how it looks without it, and sometimes less is more! Thanks for the comment
The ones I ordered (Mabett Bronco accessories) from Amazon arrived today. Will be putting them on tomorrow. I don't go off road, but like the finished look instead of the open-ended factory bars.
I thought about this too, but had forgot to order any, so I'm glad I saw your video. My Bronco arrives next week, so the order I just placed for these caps should come in a couple days before my Bronco arrives. Thanks!
The sasquatch tires are wider and offer more contact area than the pizza cutter smaller tires . The more surface area and possibly more offset wheel is less likely to intrude into the cabin than the smaller wheel tire combo that is fully tucked inside the wheel well .
Thanks for the easy improvement. My Bronco is being built next month and I was wondering if there was a way to close those ugly holes. Just purchased the parts so they're ready to go when I finally get mine delivered.
I think it’s 4WP’s that makes replacement crash bars that goes with the 2” lift kit that look better, are more of a flat bar instead of a square tube and are stronger. Not sure if they sell them separate though. I may also just weld a plate on the end of the factory bars if I decide to keep them on.
Thanks for the comment! I have seen those 4WP bars and they do seem like a good option. Welding a plate would work too. I need a lot more practice before I would attempt that myself!
Just a thought, you took 1/2” of one side. Do you think that taking 1/4” off two sides would (A) remove too much of the gripping surface, or (B) make the piece too flimsy?
That is a great question with no clear answer that I have seen yet. The speculation is: Ford did crash test computer modeling during development of the Bronco, and the greater tire mass and larger sidewall of the sasquatch tire resulted in less risk of tire intrusion in to the passenger area, so they decided they were not necessary.
Sas does not have them because they will rub the 35s. Is it safe? Ah, if you have a front-end collision that shears the wheel and tire off and projects them through the firewall up into the cabin, then probably less safe with no crash bars. But if you go to 35s those bars have to be removed.
😂 wrap is still looking good! A couple of places along the top edge where I had to cut it flush, I have found it to be losing some adhesion. I will post a full update video after about 6 months of use.
Have a rather odd question...would you mind telling me how tall you are? I am about to order a base Bronco (love your videos) and having a discussion with my wife about the 2 DR vs the 4 DR. I want the 2 DR but she is worried about the leg room in the back seats. (We have kids.) The beginning of your video's is one of the very few overhead shots of a 2 DR Bronco I have found, the only with someone actually sitting in the front seat. So...curious to know how tall you are so I can get an idea of how far back the driver's seat is in that shot and the rear leg room it provides. There are no 2 DR's in my town to go and see in person. Thank you.
I am 6'1". I also just made a couple of measurements that might help you: with the driver's seat in my comfortable driving position, there is 9.5 inches between the back of the driver's seat and the front of the rear seat behind it, and when I sit in that same rear seat, there is 1" between my knee and the driver's seat. I think most people find the back seat roomier than they would expect. BUT, it is not easy to get in and out of the back for a big person like me. I hope that helps and thanks for watching!
I have not tested them on a 2022 but I would be shocked if the crash bar was different. Are you installing on a Bronco with a crash bar (ie not one with Sasquatch package)?
Hmmm...can you show me specifically which caps you purchased? The ones that I linked I should be pretty snug. I did use some RTV sealant just to make sure they could not pop out.
Looks great. Just remember to take off the caps and wash out every now and again because sludge will build up in there over time. If you don't, it will start rusting from the inside out. (Yep, even with the caps on.)
I foresee most Bronco owners taking a sawzall to these bars as soon as they go up to a bigger tire....kinda looks like they're just bolted in - so I guess that might be the better option if removing them.
They both can be removed by unbolting them. The front one I am told you have to partially remove the bumper in order to get enough access space though.
I thought about that, but in this case with a good and inexpensive product available, I figured it would be a lot easier to buy. Thanks for the comment!
Looks factory, or what Ford should have done. And a lot cheaper than metal ones, although the metal ones for the front do have a light or camera mount slot
The rig is an absolute bargain for its capabilities. They have to cut corners somewhere. I could spring for plastic end caps if I get front and rear lockers, on-the-fly swaybar disconnect, Bilstein shocks, 33"KO2s and IFS for fifty grand.
That is an option, but there is reduced safety for you and front seat passenger, unless you are also upgrading to 35" tires in which case even the factory removes them. I am not entirely sure why that is the case, perhaps because the tire is too large to intrude in to the cabin in an accident
Love the little homebrewed hacks that work . Nice find .
Yup that is what my channel is all about! Thanks for the comment

It’s the little touches. That definitely looks clean! That top too!!! You’re building a bronco to my exact vision of a perfect modern/classic.

It’s the small things that make a big difference. Well done.
I agree, thanks!
I just performed this mod using the links in your description and it worked perfectly. Thanks so much!
Glad I could help!
The top looks really good with the white wrap - goes great with the wheels.
Thanks for watching!

Cool, I saw they had come out with this new product. Let me know what you think of them after the install, quality and fit etc.
Thanks for sharing!
You bet! Thanks Mitch and looking forward to some more Bronco 'Tech Tuesdays' from you
Enjoying these vids!!!
Thanks for watching...I enjoy making them!

Perfect. Thank you.
You're welcome!
Great vid. Simple and looks way better. Thanks for sharing. I'm removing mine, but I like your content.
Your Bronco, your choice! Thanks for watching
Really loving the build 😎
Thanks! 😁
If those are removed on Sasquatch trims, would that significantly compromise small offset crash protection?
The sasquatch tires are wider and offer more contact area than the pizza cutter smaller tires . The more surface area and possibly more offset wheel is less likely to intrude into the cabin than the smaller wheel tire combo that is fully tucked inside the wheel well .
@rydfree I think you nailed it. @moshiki that is probably why the Sasquatch trims do NOT come from the factory with crash bars installed
Thanks for the easy improvement. My Bronco is being built next month and I was wondering if there was a way to close those ugly holes. Just purchased the parts so they're ready to go when I finally get mine delivered.

Yet another well done informative video, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Yes I think it is better to have three sides with gripping material as compared to just two
@@BudgetBronco Agreed! Thank you again. Happy New Year!
Nice Job. Fits two of my top priorities, cheap and easy :)
Mine too! Thanks for watching
Great vids .....keep em coming
Thanks! Will do!
Great idea. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Seems like a great way to collect moisture in them
I don't think it will be a problem, they are open on the other end, any moisture can drain out
remove them.
When did the top become white?!? Looks great!
About a month ago...see my video '2021 Ford Base Bronco DIY Vinyl Wrap MIC Top For Under $200' Thanks for watching!
Why doesn’t the Sasquatch package have the crash bars? Is it safe without them?

Timmy boy! How’s that wrap holding up buddy?

Do the 2x3 caps only work for 2021 broncos? I bought some 2x3 caps and they didnt fit snug in my 2022 4 door big bend.
I have not tested them on a 2022 but I would be shocked if the crash bar was different. Are you installing on a Bronco with a crash bar (ie not one with Sasquatch package)?
Correct, I don't have a sasquatch package. Have the Mid package specifically
Hmmm...can you show me specifically which caps you purchased? The ones that I linked I should be pretty snug. I did use some RTV sealant just to make sure they could not pop out.
Looks great great job, Keep Buying packs 30 and out someone'll buy them from you
Only 10 per package not 30! Thanks for watching
I’ll help you get rid of a couple of that big bag! I was going to order that same one on Amazon but thought what heck am I going to do with 30!?
Only 10 per package not 30! Maybe I will do a subscriber give-away...
@@BudgetBronco I ll have to look further, I was looking at a 30 pack, 10 is doable. Thanks!
Would that be a good place to stash weed, cash?
Ummmm dunno?
Clever
Thanks, it is a pretty simple solution
They also make 1.5"x2" cap plugs so you don't have to cut
Good catch! I might try purchasing a couple and see how they fit. If they work I will update my description. Thanks for the comment
Looks great. Just remember to take off the caps and wash out every now and again because sludge will build up in there over time. If you don't, it will start rusting from the inside out. (Yep, even with the caps on.)

You could probably get some 3d printed as well
I thought about that, but in this case with a good and inexpensive product available, I figured it would be a lot easier to buy. Thanks for the comment!
Looks factory, or what Ford should have done. And a lot cheaper than metal ones, although the metal ones for the front do have a light or camera mount slot
Oh interesting, I have not seen those. Thanks for watching!
Its a shame you pay that much for a vehicle and you have to do fixes on it. I test drove one and didn't like all the wind noise.
I agree you should not buy a Bronco if you want a very quiet ride
The rig is an absolute bargain for its capabilities. They have to cut corners somewhere. I could spring for plastic end caps if I get front and rear lockers, on-the-fly swaybar disconnect, Bilstein shocks, 33"KO2s and IFS for fifty grand.
I’m just going to remove them

Save your money on caps, Remove them.
I'd rather cap them and keep the additional safety they provide. Thanks for watching
@@BudgetBronco They're designed to prevent bigger tires to be installed.
You must be a guitar player. You have fingerpicker fingernails.
HAHAHA no, I must have just been overdue for a trim
