My favourite song ever .Johnny B Good. I was walking home from the river in my home town in Australia . When I picked up a piece of paper with the lyrics of Johnny B Good. Thanks Chuck Berry for the GREAT music and memories . RIP Legend .
When I was 12 or 13 my sister, Zelma, and her high school friends snuck me in to see Chuck Berry at the Green Gate in San Antonio. He signed my arm and I never wanted to wash my arm! Best times ever!
This is one of the greatest rock and roll songs ever recorded by one of the greatest rock and roll artists of all time. I'm 76 now and I can still recall how an earlier Chuck Berry hit ("Rock & Roll Music") lit me up the first time I heard it (8th grade). S-o-o-o glad I was born when I was...
+thevideosinc yes they do but not every generation can claim the golden age of rock n roll it only happend once it will never be repeated. Trends and fads will come and go but classics are forever.
My theory is that the greats of that era and even before, didn't have television, video games, cell phones, computers, iPads or anything. They were kids growing up without a lot to keep them occupied, so they picked up an instrument and learned to play it. I'm a musician and I must say that practicing and playing music is great at taking your mind off your troubles. I think the kids of today are so busy with their electronics they don't have the time or motivation to learn music. You do need some empty, boring hours in your day to get motivated to be creative.
It's more of a fact than an actual theory, but an interesting one nonetheless. Thank you for replying on my comment. Keep on walking to the path of promise
Brian Seymour We have crap today, bcz back in Chuck's time, good music had to pass the ppl test Good artists started at the bottom & had to work their way to the top by way of record sales. If you played crap you stayed at the bottom. Today, it's the other way around. Record companies tell you what to like. You have no say-so in the matter. It's all artificial recognition to unworthy, lame, uninspired dumb-asses who have no connection with the general card carrying public. So, what are we supposed to like? Hip-hop & rap? An average music trend lasts between 1 to 3 years. The Beatles barely made it to 4 1/2 years. Your gonna tell me that rap can survive 40 years. No Way, Me! (My name is Jose.) It's basically artificial survivability. A cash cow for the record companies. So, as long as the record companies keep dumping boatloads of cash into the promotion of rap-crap...it lives. Frankly, there's not very much to rap-crap. It's boring & annoying and goes nowhere. It has no heart and no soul like, say, a Chuck Berry, a Ray Charles, or a James Brown. Somebody needs to see the Emperor for what he is and pull the plug on that rap-crap. Let's get the real music back to the general public where it belongs.
+John John Yep, he's great. Last week I recorded Johnny B. Goode. I rocked it singing & playing bass guitar, and I even did the solo behind my head. I want to do this for America's Got Talent on the 1st week to be judged. It's my featured video right now. I hope you'll check it out and like it. Take care.
Man the memories that brings back. My mom use to play this record. Johnny Mathis, Gene Cuppa Jerry Lee Lewis, Marvin Gaye, Aaron Neville.. we would listen to them for hrs in the summer when my pops went fishing. My uncle played drums and helped me make a set with buckets and a wash tub.. played them until I brought my first set. Johnny B Goode was the first song I learned to play on those old tubs. Simple times before responsibility and bills took precedent. Classic.

Took my pre-teen daughters to a theme park back in the 80's. Chuck was playing that night. The girls had, or course, never heard of him and got pouty about having to sit though his performance. Halfway through the first song they were starting to come alive. By the end of the second song they were rockin' out big time and diggin't it. That night was their real introduction to rock and roll. Thanks for the music and the memories Chuck!
Hallelujah! Happy to hear from one who mind you has eye of what is real and true for what's it's that's Music is our livlihood. An important must have involvement as influences and orchestrates our life's experiences as the words won't and have-nots hadn't been able to say so oftentimes found in Music. Song says what's on My mind and it's easier to hear sung than as to write It all down about It as It is. And You hear It sounds so well and better said in a song if You most importantly or them "They" get It. As long as what I meant was what You understand as that too. Hoorah! YaY! So many words to say so little. But means so very very much. Love. And too watching Chuck holding and dancing strums and picks His guitar instrumentally singing such flavorful music to dance the night away. One Another's will find without music there's no love. Love.
Berry brought the Boogie Woogie and everyone was swinging. That was the excitement that Rock n Roll created back then. It was like an explosion! Good times long Gone now.
