How to drive safely. How to pass
This video is filmed during a driving lesson. It is filmed for educational purposes.
Throughout the video there are highlights to show how you should be driving safely.
I hope this video will be useful! :)

You can really see her confidence grow!!
13:38 Erin, I am with you on this one. That junction is confusing, counterintuitive (intuition that says - always stop at a red light) and unnecessarily complicated.
It teaches us to start doubting traffic lights and check for stop lines in front of every single one of them (which is exhausting).
Many or even most junctions have repeater lights on the opposite side. Once you are in the junction, the repeater lights do not apply to you. The only thing that was slightly unusual about this junction is that the repeater light was a long way from the middle of the junction, which made it less intuitive what the light is actually for.
You don't actually need to check whether there is a stop line in front of every traffic light - with a bit of experience it becomes obvious where you need to stop and which lights are repeater lights. The only thing to look out for is crossings close to the exit of a junction, which can look similar to repeater lights but there are multiple lights and a stop line, making it a separate crossing.
I've been driving for 33 years (the last 27 in Australia) and I think I would've been confused at those lights. They shouldn't be where they are (at a pedestrian crossing). Seems like a bad design. Driving is very different here. Much easier I think.
@@bencodykirk Exactly. I would also be confused.
@@bencodykirk I would've stopped there too.
Eren speaking to Erin cyamon 🔥🔥
This was a really big jump in the quality of Erin's driving and seems to coincide with her being a bit more relaxed and confident as she was talking a lot more than she usually does.
Keep up the good work.
You have taken this lesson to a high level...your friendly conversation/instruction is really making your student comfortable...yeah like the nervousness dissappears naturally. I'm loving it
That repeat light seems downright dangerous.
As a pedestrian, if I want to cross there, approaching on the left in the same direction as you, I see the red light for traffic, and I'm going to assume it's safe to cross.
As an American with 25yrs driving exp. These roads scare me...especially that "pink thing" bus near the end. This video was in my feed randomly. I must say to the instructor (Aman I believe?) you have an amazingly pleasant demeanor, even your interventions were not confrontational but only corrective...I feel I could learn anything you were teaching. As America installs more and more Round-abouts watching this video's makes me feel better about my navigating them properly and the majority of others are the ones doing it wrong!
Hi Aman, passed my test yesterday and just wanted to say how helpful all your videos were. Definitely has made me a more confident driver!
❤ congrats now my turn
I am impressed (As a teacher, although in my case Math teacher) how Erin really tries to take everything you say in. Your teaching abilities help masively, because of the nice atmosphere.
Started watching around a year ago for fun, and then decided to get my license, learning was super easy after watching these videos before hand, my test was today, passed with 2 minors. Thank You.
Just out of curiosity how did you find the channel and what made you watch it for "fun"? As I started watching after I started learning to drive its hard to put myself in that position. I do love these videos though
@@cnsmooth I believe I found it while I was watching Car fails and car crash youtube videos then got recommended one of her videos and I just found it funny looking at people fail at driving.
@@dvorak310 lol cool that makes sense
14:50 I've been driving for 15 years, had an excellent teacher, and learnt something new today. Thank you ❤
“I think it’s alright”🤣🤣🤣she is so much more confident - wishing you all the best Erin x❤
Go Erin go 😁 You are an amazing driver, keep up with the excellent work 🙂 X
Even though the video hasn't come out yet, I've already learnt something from the title so thank you for that :)
One of the most important things when driving is confidence if you arent confident in your self and panic more likely to cause problems
thank you so much your videos are really helpful Aman you are so kind I wished I had you as my instructor
You did those roundabouts really well Erin, you're making good progress well done. I've been driving a long time and some of those tight spots would have freaked me out a bit!
It's been good seeing Erin's lessons. Looking forward to this one :) Just about to watch the previous upload and then this premiere will be out once I wake up
haha just seen ur comment on Supercars in Manchester and now here. what are the chances
@@wounddd yeah I get around :) I''m also very frequently watching xqc and his clips
I'd like to see Erin approach roundabouts a little more slowly, even if no vehicles seem to be coming round. The tendency is that learner drivers get into the habit of approaching too fast and the one time that they miss a vehicle tucked into the blind spot, they are in trouble. But all credit to her - she has made amazing progress and will make an excellent driver.
i have passed my driving test last week by watching your video Clearview Driving school is amazing
hi aman this was great great drive erin keep it up
She is such a nice instructor ❤
Hi i passed my test with only 1 minor. Your videos helped me alot. Thank you soo much.
very insightful!
Pass my driving test yesterday thank you for videos
Wish I had a tutor like her she’s fun my instructor was like a school headmaster 😁 pot holes 🕳️ everywhere
This was great I love this sorry I wasn't able to join I was on the road but I watched it and I loved it
The words every student wants to hear: sorry, I was busy talking and probably distracted you
Aman is such a cool driving instructor! Would have loved having her as my instructor.
Today I’ve Passed My Driving Test. A Huge Credit Goes To Clearview Driving And Aman. I’ve Learned Many Things From This Channel….
2:14 Lol Erin coming out of her shell
how
@@hplus1 With this comment and your last it seems like you don't actually watch these videos.
She is far more talkative in this video than any of her previous lessons.
@@cnsmooth I just said 'how' bro chill out w your weird ass
Yeah, she was unusually talkative in this video. 😊
What a coincidence about Jeremy and Juvenal! I bet she's a fan of them! 😂
But apart from that, I sincerely wish Erin well. ❤
I’m a driver of 9 years and had no idea about that traffic light malarkey 😳 xxx
You're getting there. Little tip concentrate on the space when space is tight . It will then stop you veering towards cars when you get nervous. You're doing good it's just practice
Great progress
Don’t worry Erin, I did the same today, took the wrong exit at the roundabout and then tried to swerve away from a vehicle in a narrow road when it was on the other side! I can see your confidence growing, I have only just started to feel confident and comfortable enough to talk whilst driving too and I have done about 10hrs
Wrong exits are common. If you're on a driving test and you take a wrong turn, pls stay calm, and drive the route the examinator tells you to drive. It's not a reason to fail your test.
That road was awful, I thought you might burst a tire😅. When roads are like this I try to slow down and go through carefully!
I really hope your alloys are ok😅
This video was really helpful, I find myself thinking what I would do 👍
I passed 1st time on Monday with 1 fault. And my examiner was a lovely man but also I reckon very lenient with me, even my dad agreed. I got lucky having him. I drove perfectly the hour before my test, no faults! I’m quite confident and I’m a very competent driver. But on my test I 100% made more than 1 fault, I even thought I’d already bottled it after my first fault but it all seems subjective as it didn’t even get marked down.
I think what I’ve taken from my experience is that a fault on these mock vids or even what your instructor tells you isn’t 100% guaranteed a fault in the test. So provided it ain’t dangerous, if you make a fault that you’ve been told will fail you, it’s not guaranteed the same outcome on your actual test! So don’t think you’ve failed, keep driving like they’ve restarted the test and this is your second chance.
Congratulations 🎉. Great advice thanks 😊
This is true. I remember on my learner test I had to hit the brakes without checking as I'd missed a woman with a pushchair walking out coming off a spiral roundabout, jamming the gears up once by accident, and steering too late on a fast right bend. My debrief was literally "well done, you passed, there was just one parked car you got a bit too close to," and everything else wasn't even mentioned.
How your driving makes the examiner feel (comfortable / safe, etc) and how clearly in harmony with the vehicle you are is everything on the learner test. If they don't think you'd be capable of safely fixing a bad situation (regardless of fault), they're not going to want to pass you.
Completely agree, I passed last month with 3 faults. I bumped the curb on my first corner about ten seconds after starting the test. Couldn't believe I had done that but decided to continue the rest of the test trying my best. When he told me I had passed I was completely stunned but he told me the things that I seemed concerned about didn't bother him and he felt safe with my driving.
Much more improvement from last time👌🏾
God bless always 🙏🏽❤️✨
Cant wait for this video to come out
Wish i had an instructor like this
Love video
Erin's good smoothed driving! Laughing, and smiling look confident! No stops at repeats, be proactive. Looking for potential hazards, awareness, observation #drivingtips #lesson. Give way to oncoming traffic. Good approached to traffic, exit to new road. well done.🟣
Passed yesterday 🎉
I passed my test on Wednesday but these are still fun to watch
My instructor hit me in the head with his book everytime I made a mistake, you are very generous
Well that’s harsh😂 i would end up being brain dead
7:08 and they have the cheek to ask for road tax 🤣
8:30 she almost ratted herself out 😂
Erin, you are so much more confident! 🙂 Great stuff! Well done! This might help as it helps me after 15 years of driving! 🤣🧓Whenever I am judging width restrictions, I think "Less Space, Less Speed" It really helps!
This was really interesting and fun to watch! I liked the chemistry and how much fun you had while having a lesson. Erin is so chill and self-effacing -- such people are really nice to spend time with. And she's making a nice progress -- I mean, she still seems to take the parked cars as drivable-through, but now she only does it when facing things (especially pink ones) coming at her from the opposite direction :).
One more thing: I roughly understood the repeated signal, but it remains unclear to me what its purpose is. I mean, if it only affects the traffic arriving at it from the road that's in the straight line to it and if that road has its own signal before the junction, then why double the signal for that traffic also after the junction?
It is there so the first car waiting at a red light has an easy-to-see light (without having to twist their neck to see the one half above them).
Just passed my test today!
Hi my instructor normally has small botton stickers on the door for when we do forward bay parking and also reverse bay parking. It is fantastic and I never fall to do the 2 manoeuvres with the sticker signs. Please do it
I.need driving lessons 😊
ahhh the red light thing happened to me once too (I am Italian, so it's not just a British thing). I had had my license for some weeks and it was one of the first times I was driving alone. I was the first one waiting at a red light, it turned green and I turned right and found a red light just in front of me, so I stopped lol. I was confused cause it didn't make sense, but a car honked so I went forward. I then thought about it and yeah it was just the further light for those on the main road, but it's still weird to have it right in front of your car and just pass it
Hi, I just wondering, as I see you have Mercedes a class which has a speed limiter feature. is it allowed to use during the driving exam?
As well as the stop line, you usually find a repeater is just a single pole. Most often, when it IS your light, you will drive between two poles.
What advice would you give with regard to a poor road surface/avoiding potholes?
I don't get that red light traffic signal either , confusing when it's straight in front if you like that , I would have stopped there as well and I can drive 😂 !
If we see 2 red traffic lights, do they cancel each other and so we can continue?
Coming from Spain, it took me a while to get used to the secondary traffic lights. They should mark them in another colour or something (like yellow post for example), instead of the exact same one. It's definitely weird...
The metal pole on the island often has traffic lights for opposing sides of the traffic: it is primary for one side, secondary for the other side. So it is not practical to paint it in different colours. This wouldn’t be a problem once you’re used to driving on the road, it would be second nature to you by then.
Oh goodness there a repeat light at the end of my road. Daily walk past it and shout 'it's not for you!' 😂
Just asking a question,l can not understand why you ,took control of the steering wheel ,
I used to think that driving in Guatemala city was complicate but london seems pretty stressful for me
is the uk driving test similar to swedens?
Oh, wow. 4:00 Nice residential buildings right besides a six-lane highway.
For the pupil... Don't forget your blind spot! 😊
This problem is most likely to be encountered on huge roundabouts controlled by lights. Some entrances are not light controlled and some lights are placed on the circuit about the island to stop you part way round. Some lights are more randomly scattered about which could confuse new drivers. The definitive thing to watch for is whether a stop line is across the road surface. If a temporary road surface is there due to roadworks extra caution required.
In the case of temporary lights, there should be a red sign instructing drivers to stop at it for a red light. That would be your new stop line while the temporary lights are operational.
However, you do have a point, especially with learners who aren't going to be able to take in the wider situation in order to contextualise whom traffic lights are aimed to control.
@@user-mv5zt8qd9l There are two likely errors learners make on traffic light controlled roundabouts. Firstly as learner approaches they see traffic coming from the right (this would be approaching a red light). Learner gives way to traffic approaching from the right as per a normal situation because they have not observed a green traffic light in their favour on their approach. Second error, once on the roundabout they gather too much speed feeling they have priority now as per usual scenario of being on a roundabout but part way round red lights and stop lines are encountered. A hard stop or trying to drive through the red can happen.
Don’t know if anyone has seen but the sun newspaper has done an article about the red light part of this video!!!
Erin is so funny
Erin: "where am I going?"
Hi Aman!
I tried to email you through your website but the address is coming back as undeliverable.
Are you able to cater for Pass Plus at all? I passed my test on 5/4 at the Uxbridge test center and looking into getting that insurance down.
Cheers!
I can't get over the state of the roads there! I moved from London to Australia in 1996 and it doesn't look like the roads have been properly resurfaced since at least then.
The office of the London mayor is anti car, they view drivers as the enemy and cash cows, lots of income created from camera fines.
@7:08 didn’t think London had such bad pot holes! Reminds me of Trinidad 😅
It really does😂
Cnt find test dates even on cancellation apps.
I absolutely hate those repeated traffic lights, it seems to me they cause more confusion than resolve some imaginary problems or allegedly give extra information you actually don't need. Also those exist only in the UK I believe which tells something.
The U.S. essentially only has repeater lights, at least for larger intersections. That doesn’t mean one to like them.
I want saima lesson please
Aman would literally fail me on the first day when I can't get a away from the parking space without killing the engine.
I hate stick shifts.
Get shmee to do a mock test in his zenvo tsrs
15:22 be careful there steering a bit early, cutting into the lane on the left there where that learner was
14:01 I would just stop and cry if I had to go through there xD
The psychology of driving comes into it's own when approaching Roundabouts, or any Hazard.
The question is: "What is your intention as you approach a Roundabout?"
The "Initial" Intention MUST be to "Stop", ... "unless" ... you can see it to be clear!
In that frame of mind, the driver will slow down on the approach.
Alternatively, if the intention is to Not Stop, ... the Approach will be too fast!!
The same can be applied to any approach to a Hazard!!
The lorry named "Turners" was making a turn. How poetic is that? xD
😅
I wish I seen this video sooner. Just had my first fail because of the same situation. Had 70!!! Hours with the instructor and he never mentioned to me about repeated light or white line. I feel so dissapointed and let down by him..
why cant red lights be at the spot you need to stop? In Finland it's always there, mostly because of snowy winters.
What about Saima?did she passed?
I do not understand, how did you pass the written test?
She’s so funny
I pass my driving exam by just watching on youtube. I tried one time for one hour only and I paid for 10 hours with an instructor and so much worst he keeps interrupting me while I’m driving and he tried to discourage me not to attend my exam yet he told me that I'm not yet ready and I won't pass my exam but I still did because I feel it that I can and I pass it. So I got my refund.😅 Just believe in yourself, do what you think is right, be confident, and just give it a try.
If the road surface is that bad in our capital city, what hope is there for the rest of us?
I actually watching because the newspaper picked up on the confusion on the red light.. 🙄
I always struggle to know how to drive not too close to the curb and not too close to oncoming traffic in narrow gaps... it's so annoying... like the hell am i suppose to know how close i'm to an object... urgh... experienced drivers make it look so easy
13:55 bro whattttttt
No blind spot checks
Hi
So then, in a nutshell since London is so great at repainting the lines on the road, you're what we called "screwed" when you come to a light that is yours but is not because their is no line but is because the line has worn off.
Whew, I need a drink.
Erins done well still needs to be sure and a bit more confident
Hi Amna how can I contact you I would love to do some lessons with you?
What car is that ?
possibly an a class
SO i'M FROM NEW York CITY, & i live here in the UK, Birmingham TO BE PACIFIC.
WHEN YOU TOLD HER TO GET OFF AT THE 4th ROUNDABOUT EXIT.
WHERE SHE COUNTING THOSE YELLOW things with the arrows on THEM? Because i actually got off at the same exit that she got off at in my mind, & i thought that was the fourth exit as well.
But it was the 5th.
Because i was counting those yellow things with the arrows on them.
So i'm guessing at the exits there's not always those yellow things with the arrows on them?
They are called keep left bollards, often combined with a pedestrian refuge crossing-island on a busy, wide road, not all road exits/entrances have them, if they’re quiet/small roads or residential, one of those exits was like this.
Eren yeager driving car 😂
My sister nearly failed her driving lesson while trying to speed on the motorway
should she even be going on the motorway lol
@@v.alentina yeah learners are allowed to drive on motorways now
