The old church episodes are some of the best guides to life a man can have. I really hope everyone goes back and listens to them on the podcast app. Everything before episode 150 is amazing. of course everything after is too, tons of gems everywhere.

Man I started watching JRE and of course found Joey then Church when I was just getting out of college and starting my career, away from friends and family alone in Atlanta, addicted to opiates and starting to get into serious credit card debt from taking cash advances. The wisdom from these guys and the sense of community, albeit digital, really helped me through some tough times. They helped me understand the importance of reflection, motivation, and perspective, among other things. Lots of development over the past 10 years and I am now very happily married, with a home, money in the bank, a side business, and I’ve never been happier. I’ve grown with these guys, and I was fortunate to get their wisdom while I was still young and malleable. These guys have done me an invaluable service and the only way I can repay is by giving young guys good advice when they need it. Thank you Joey for helping me develop into a decent human.
OH ya for sure! Listening to Joey also helped me turn away from cash advance places and pills!!!!! I distinctly remember standing next to money mart listening to an early church episode and thinking "Joey would smack me if he knew what I was doing". Since then it's all pot cookies and bags of reefer :D
100 percent. Just looking at the comments you see the impact He has on all of us n it's not like any other comment section. Grateful too grow up in the time of The Church
Hey you could have my story. The only time I saw him I went too deep and had a panic attack and spent most of his set hiding in the bathroom and listening to it in a stall via piped in speakers. It was embarrassing and caused me to forget virtually all of his set.
Thanks for posting these classic gems, Unc; you're a beautiful human being. Thank you for blessing us all with your wisdom over the years; much love always. 🖖🏼
I started listening to the church after I lost my mother in 2018. I was living alone in college at the time and Joey and Lee were the only friends I had. Nothing comes close to the comfort I feel listening to the Church!
Major props to Mike. It must suck trying to follow up on what Lee left behind yet he he still comes in and does the job on old clips as well as keeping the Joint rolling. You've been smashing it Mike and I hope you feel appreciated.
The end of an era man…it’s very bitter sweet …we love u so much Joey, but I understand that you gotta do something different, but please don’t forget us uncle Joey , we need you !!!! Love from Dc/Bmore
This reminds me of the flood of Joey stuff that got uploaded when the Church ended 3 years ago. It took the edge off the loss. Time flies the older I get but that feels like a lifetime ago.
RAS DUDE here! Just wanna say thank you to the Church! So happy to see how they progressed. Joey would always treat me like a lil brother. Most memorable was when we did kettle bell classes with fuck-o for a couple months until everyone got busy. I would often visit Joey at the store and drop some wizard bud on him. He would bring me into the back of the store and call me his publicist. He would gift me stars of death. Although I haven't talked to Joey in a few years, I know that the love is still strong! He used to call me at random to check in. I would get bummed when I missed his call, but also very happy to know Uncle Joey was thinking about me and everyone else. A true inspiration for how to turn your life around. There are a lot of lost people out there, and seeing cats like Joey give me hope for the world. I'm still in this dump that is LA but ready to escape this bullshit! If Joey wants to stop podcasting, by all means! New doors of joy will open. As far as the fans, be patient and grateful we had people like this in our lives! Learned so much game from Joey every week for years! Big love to the flying Jew! COCKSUCKAS
Doesn't matter what you do, we love ya Uncle Joey. You knew you were a success, it took everyone THIS much time to figure it out. Fuckem, DO YOU, we all need that, an just know that we love you. Much love Unc
Joey! I love you dog. You’re the best. You’ve been my smoking partner in my ears telling great stories, while I laugh along with Lee, the kindest soul in the west. I hope you can find it in yourself to come back. Maybe it feels stale to tell old stories, but anything the two of you do would be awesome.
I miss the church so much. Nothing comes close to the comfort I feel listening to these episodes with Lee and Uncle Joey.
