Nice job on the video, that's a LOT done! The LL modifier was a game changer for us on our visit a month ago. One thing you mentioned was being careful to not get stuck by parades/fireworks. Do you have recommendations for the better areas to go during those times?
Thank you so much! Glad that strategy worked for you too! In general, Main Street and the castle are areas to avoid during the parades and fireworks, as well as the area in front of Its a Small World. Sometimes the more popular rides can have shorter waits during those times, so we’d plan on staying in one land without trying to cross to the other side of the park.
Absolutely LEGENDARY. I watched every minute of this video and was totally blown away that you guys got every last attraction on your list checked off, and by 9:30pm, at that!!! Very well done👏🏽 PLEASE attempt this challenge one last time around the holidays 2024, whether it be Halloween time or Christmas time, when the crowds are much heavier- I think it would give great insight for those of us anticipating an upcoming holiday visit to the parks, and help us better prepare🥳 And perhaps at California Adventure, as welll? I know this was HARD work, but you guys made it look like a breeze! Perfect strategy. You two have *earned* a new subbie here; and I will definitely be recommending your channel to all my Disney fanatic family members and friends!! THANK YOU🎉🎉🎉
Thanks so much for all your kind words! ☺️ We hope you find our videos helpful! We do have a DCA version of this challenge, so feel free to check that one out too: ruclips.net/video/c3xHmepcY94/видео.html
Absolutely fabulous, you two. Well done! I so appreciate this video. There is so much content out there on this info but this is the one to save. Thank you!!
Awesome video! I haven't been to park in 10 years and planning my trip first time ever with kids and this is exactly what I'm looking for to help organize my day! I'll be watching over and over taking notes lol
Another tip, if a ride is closed and there’s a LL book it! And hope the time passes! If it does it gives you a free pass to any ride except cars, rise, peter, webslingers that you can use at any time.
Thanks for the tips. We are planning on going next year in early March. I’ve been worried about the spring break crowds though. When did you film this?
Hi! We filmed this in mid March on a Saturday, spring break crowds are usually busiest the weeks before and after Easter. Thanks for watching and we hope you have a wonderful trip!
Hi! The line usually stays short for the first couple hours that the park is open, so it may save more time to rope drop a more popular ride like Space Mountain or Indiana Jones. It’s also nice to enjoy Toontown in the morning when it’s not so busy, so it’s not a bad choice for rope drop either.
Thanks for the video. We’re planning a trip in either April or July. We chose about 10-11 rides which I was hoping wasn’t too ambitious, but it seems doable after watching your video. The rides we chose are a mix of thrills, dark rides, LL, and non-LL. What are some differences between visiting in July vs April in terms of weather and crowds?
Thanks so much for watching! The weather is probably the biggest difference between those months. April can be rainy and cooler some years, and the crowds are usually busiest the weeks before and after Easter. July can be warm, although it may still be cooler in the mornings/evenings, crowds are usually high for vacations and summer camps. As long as you have a good plan and are prepared to be flexible, both can be great times to visit.
This was super helpful, and gives me an idea if I can do everything I want to with my son on our upcoming trip! I am pretty good at using genie+ but I have constraints on our trip needing to leave for the airport by 4:30 pm, and having to manage my 8 year old not always willing to be flexible. I put the times you were able to accomplish in a spreadsheet and I think it might actually be possible to do most of the rides my son says he wants between 8am-4:30 pm! We will be there on a Sunday in June. Thank you for this perspective!
Hi! Your video is so helpful! If you had one day using genie+ and park hopper which park would you recommend starting at first? I have 2 kids 7 and 5 who love thrill rides and we’ve been to Disney World to take into consideration. The day we go DL closes at 12am and DCA at 10pm..Thanks in advance for your recommendations!
Thanks so much for watching! If we only had one day, we’d start at DCA (we have a video showing our strategy just like this DL one), if you head back to Pixar Pier, you can get through a lot of rides with little to no wait. Then use Genie plus for the rest of the big rides at DCA and hop over to Disneyland anytime after 11am. You can also book Lightning Lanes for Disneyland before you park hop as long as you’ve used your DCA ones already. Have a great trip!
Hi! As of now, at Disneyland, only the name will be changed for Genie Plus. The system is changing at WDW so we’re curious to see if or when things will change at Disneyland. Thanks for watching!
This was such a helpful video for our upcoming first visit to Disneyland and DCA! My question is - are there top tier attractions in both parks that run out of Genie+ within few hours of park open? That’s how it is in WDW. Thank you :)
Thanks so much for watching! No, it would be very unusual for an attraction to run out of Lightning Lane return times. Some of the more popular attractions like Space Mountain or Indiana Jones may run out of return times in the evening, so we’d recommend booking those earlier in the day to avoid big gaps between return times for other rides. Hope that helps!
Hi! We paid for the Genie Plus service for the day and the Individual Lightning Lane for Rise of the Resistance. Those prices vary depending on the date. Hope that helps!
This video was very helpful. We are new to DL, typically go to DW. The genie plus ride options are very different at the 2 parks. Great strategy, thanks!
The cost for Genie plus, which includes all Lightning Lane attractions except for Rise of the Resistance, varies by day, the price starts at $30 per guest per day. The Individual Lighting Lane for Rise of the Resistance varies by day, but starts at $26. Hope that helps!
So if i understand how the plus works we can only use it once per ride correct..? Ex if i use it for the big thunder at 12pm; i can no longer use it for later in the evening correct? Unless i wait in the GA line…
Yes, when you select an attraction with Genie Plus, you will get a specific return time. After you have used that Lightning Lane, you cannot select the same attraction again, but you are able to wait in the Stand By line as many times as you’d like. Thanks for watching!
Hi! Rise of the Resistance is the only attraction at Disneyland that needs the seperate Individual Lightning Lane, all of the other attractions we mentioned that use Genie Plus are included in the Genie Plus cost. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
Personally, unless I am at the very front of the rope, I would skip Pan and head to Alice or even Snow White. For me, it's worth it to get up early enough to be first in the park. If you are the first to get on Pan, you can hit every ride in Fantasyland pretty quickly.
We totally agree, the line for Peter Pan fills up really quickly at rope drop, so heading for those other attractions is a good plan if you can’t get near the front of the crowd. Thanks for watching!
This was the best video of genie plus I have ever seen!!!! This helped me out so much!!!! I think I won’t be able to use my DAS anymore so now my family and I will have to go this route .. I’m not familiar but I got so many questions answered in one video! Thank you so much!!! My only question is, can I book a lighting lane ride at DCA for example , BUT I am inside of Disneyland ? I am an annual pass holder and I wouldn’t have any ties to hotel or anything. Just entering Disneyland as a normal pass holder but now I want to book “monsters inc” (but I’m still inside Disneyland ) can I do that?
There were a couple of times it seemed you had booked a genie+/LL when you already had one booked. Can you book more than one at a time? Newbie question! We are visiting from overseas in May. We have 1 day in each DL & DCA with Genie+. This vid was really helpful thanks!
Thanks so much for watching! You can have a Lightning Lane from Genie+ and an Individual Lightning Lane for Rise of the Resistance at the same time. Otherwise, we will sometimes cancel out or modify Lightning Lanes to get a better time or to switch to a different attraction. You can also book a new Lightning Lane as soon as you’ve scan into an attraction, so it may have seemed like we had several LLs at the same time. Hope that helps!
Idk if I missed it, but what day of the week did you do this? Do you think rope dropping Peter Pan on a Tuesday would still be 20 minutes long? I’ve been planning on rope dropping Peter Pan since it’s not included in genie+ but I didn’t think it would already have a 20 minute line at rope drop
Hi! This was filmed on a Saturday. To be honest, this is still one of the shortest wait times you can find for this attraction unless you are staying at a Disney hotel (which gives you early access to the attractions). Once the rope drop crowd fills up the queue, the wait is usually 45-60 minutes all day. Fingers crossed the line is a little shorter when you visit! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching! Look for a sign that says Lightning Lane, where there will be a Cast Member and a small machine that you can tap your Magic Band on or scan your ticket barcode from your phone.
Hi! Thanks for watching! We agree it’s a little confusing since Disney renamed the system. Genie Plus is the name for the entire service but the return times and places are called Lightning Lanes. It made a lot more sense when everything was just called FastPass.
Genie Plus is what Disney calls the entire program, although it doesn’t really include any other services. Lightning Lane is the service you pay for, there are two options. Regular Lightning Lane covers most attractions and is one fee for all those attractions. Individual Lightning Lane is purchased just for Rise of the Resistance or Radiator Springs Racers, and those can be purchased separately from the main Lightning Lanes. The wording is very confusing but we hope that helps!
This was super helpful, and gives me an idea if I can do everything I want to with my son on our upcoming trip!
