My dad loved Christopher Ward too. I only recently discovered this just before he died. And he’s the man who fostered my childhood interest in mechanisms and clockwork and horology. I took this as a sign that my fanboying for CW was good and proper.

This was one of the quickest buys i've ever done. When IWC dropped the Ingenieur I was so pumped and blown away with the release I couldnt wait to take my $6K-$8K and buy one. Then they wanted $12K for it ,which was ridiculous given the spec's. Here comes CW from out of nowhere with a stunning piece for $1,200. In hand this looks and feels even better than the videos representation. The quality ,finishing and look of this watch is worth every penny. CW could have charged $2K for this in steel on a bracelet and it still would have been a good buy. Shame on IWC for getting greedy thinking they can cash in on the Genta design and well done/thank you Christopher Ward for putting out this stunner for a great price.

A very nice watch indeed, but @watchfinder need to start being a bit more transparent about the industry standards when reviewing watches. Especially when they glorify watches that clearly has been made in PRC. Nothing wrong about that at all but use fair comparisons 😉.
Every watch under 1000 USD which has steel material and involve manual labour is 100% made in China.
    • 60% of manufacturing costs must be Swiss-based.
    • That movement must be encased in Switzerland.
    • The final quality control inspection must happen in Switzerland.

It is what I’ve been wanting for a long time. It didn’t take long to pull the trigger on what will be a very sought after watch. I purchased the titanium as I wanted the better movement. It’s time for other watchmakers to slim down their cases like the titanium version and be at 40mm case size and below. If this came in a 38mm or even a 36mm I bet I’d buy another. I also appreciate the new logo as the one thing that kept me from by CW’s in the past was the name too prominent at the 9:00 position. This new 12 is a watch for all occasions. I received the Ti model in blue. Overall I like it very much. While visually intriguing, I would prefer to omit the gradient shading, but I also prefer the Ti construction, the thinner case, and the COSC certification that all come with this upgraded model. The date window is nicely discreet, but slightly hard to read for me. I was disappointed however to find that my watch lost around 19 seconds per day. It is now on its way back to CW in the UK to be inspected at no cost to me.

I don't understand how anyone could prefer the rubber strap over the bracelet. To me, the entire point of this look is the integration of the case and bracelet. Each to their own, I guess. But that's baffling to me. I also prefer the steel to the titanium just based on looks. I think the dials on the titanium, with the black ombre effect, just kind of ruins the classical look of the watch. Not to mention, I just prefer the shine of steel. I do love the glacier blue version. But the movement isn't very impressive, and only has a 38 hour power reserve. The PRX 80 has 80 hours, and Tissot just released it in ice blue. I'm also not too keen on those crown guards. Seems to throw the balance off. But overall, a very impressive watch, with a few niggles.

My thoughts exactly. Integrated look is the whole point rubber on a case like this just looks off. This watch really ticks a lot of boxes. But it lacks originality and adequate movement. It's kinda like a high-end fashion watch: the finishing and details are absurdly good at this price point. But the movement is simply disappointing, especially on a steel version which is otherwise my favourite. I'd love to own a titanium watch but I hate that vignette aesthetics on the dial. That white steel version is my personal favourite (on bracelet of course!).

@-KFAD- yeah, I can see putting the rubber strap on to change it up once in a while. But the whole look is about the bracelet. This watch just jas a few things that seem "off" to me, although I do like it. I do like the white dial, but prefer the glacier blue. Of course, Tissot now has the light blue in the PRX 80. So, I'm leaning that. Especially for about half the price of this. I already own a PRX 80 in black and love it.

The Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 is the same as this watch except it's listed for $675 on the Tissot website. The Tissot is half the price. Both watches use an ETA/Sellita unit, boith are Swiss made, both are 100m WR, both are 40mm. Both have the same bracelet design. Ok, the CW is 1mm thinner - if that matters to you. You have gone from a "Meh" to a "Disciple" quicker than a lush at the Wedding of Cana with an empty glass. I'm delighted in this seismic change, given your reach & influence in the watch world. It can only be to the huge benefit of Christopher Ward. For me, Mike France & Peter Ellis are fantastic people to admire in what they have achieved in their careers. Having made their money, sold out & by all accounts should be resting on their laurels, to then have a crack at the watch market from scratch, is something I find inspiring. These guys deserve every plaudit that comes their way. They have built Christopher Ward on the ethos of quality, innovation & price in a tough old market to gain credibility when you have Rolex, Omega et al. I know they aren't in the same market as these big boys. However, knowing what I do about these guys, I'd say it won't be too long before they're being spoken of as title contenders.

Looks like a close replica of CZAPEK Antarctique 2020, especially in the blue version with index markers at 12 o'clock. A nice watch though, utilising the new CW logo as the pattern on the dial. I like the CW Bel Canto chiming watch much more as it truly brings novelty to its price range. As for the Twelve, the bezel is its strong part by all means. With the close-up you can see some minor imperfections, such as uneven application of black paint on the embossed dial (see SWISS MADE letters at 8:00). It's still an excellent value for money. It's a pity it lacks originality.

Watches with an integrated metal bracelet and textured dial are very popular nowadays. It seems that companies have discovered that many people want the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak or the Patek Philippe Nautilus but are unable or unwilling to pay for them. I can mention other options, such as Yema Traveller, Straum Jan Mayen, Alpina Alpiner, Zenith Defy, Girard Perregaux Laureato, Bremonyt Supernova, Czapek Antarctique and many many others following this same style, but many of them too expensive for most people. One of the big releases from Watches in Wonders this year was the IWC Ingenieur, which unfortunately arrived costing a small fortune. Nivada Grenchen recently released the F77 and it sold out in a few days. It is good that microbrands offer more and more options.

At first glance I've got strong vibes of PRX (which I'm still missing in my collection). CW's site currently shows the price of 1350 EUR (or almost 1500 USD) for me. That's for the model presented in this video. For the Astral Blue on a bracelet (which I like the most, but it's only available in a titanium case), the price goes up to almost 2300 USD.
Therefore, I keep saving for CW's C60 Sapphire first ...

The process of returning was straightforward, but I’m a little nervous about how long the resolution will take - in my possession for 4 weeks, I hope they don’t sit on it for 10 before sending it back (some of the feedback online is less than stellar). Sadly, the customer service, thus far, has been less than stand out. Taking a week to arrange a repair, then over a week to respond to the email I sent on the back of that notification - not great. Oh and they’re at about 10 weeks repair time apparently, which for a watch that was basically defective on receipt isn’t entirely acceptable. Perhaps our watch media people need to also assess after care support for these brands as well as design & quality of the product

I own 3 Ward watches, and have been delighted with all of them. The quick-adjust on one of the bracelets was stuck, so I sent it back to CW for replacement, which they did at no cost. The downside was that the invoice sent with the replacement was for the full value of the bracelet, so I had to pay import duties a second time for a bracelet I already owned. I flagged this to them before they sent it back, but they still did not indicate on the return shipment that it was a no-cost replacement. Annoying!

Gorgeous. Ran to the website to go and buy a titanium one… until I saw the horrible looking dials on the titanium ones. They should have put a black, grey, dark blue or white dial on those. The steel white dial on bracelet looks amazing though. And the slate dial too

In the "metal," they look far better than in vids & photos.

I brought a Sealander GMT last year and knew immediately this band is going big. Love this
