Really like those exodus heads been using slick tricks for many years with great success I might give them a try this season 👍🏽thanks for another great review !!
Exodus are my favorite that I've tested out my self and the only down side to the videos is audio quality but other than that keep it up man great content
the high octane fisherman Yes, you’re right. I’ve finally figured out what it is. My mic is very expensive and top tier. But it’s when I use the editing software to enhance the sound, RUclips is not processing it effectively. In the original version I make it sounds perfect. Then after it’s uploaded it sounds like crap...but only in the segments I’ve enhanced.
Thanks for the idea Rick. That's really hard to test, cause we don't see through an animal's eyes. They have such different rods and cones from humans, so what looks effective for us may not be so effective for them. But in general, I prefer a lighter pattern that really breaks up my outline.
@@LuskArcheryAdventures Thanks for the reply. If its possible to test Broadheads on simulated animal targets, I'm sure you can figure out a way to a way to simulate animal vision. Black and White pictures maybe a little out of focus.... Where there's a will there's a way! Maybe some animal biologists can help out.
@@LuskArcheryAdventures I would really be interested in ASAT vs Sitka and the other leaders. ASAT is very unappealing visually, but I really wonder how effective it is with animals. They seem to be the only out of the box thinkers.
On a very steel incline, it's always the horizontal distance that matters, not the incline itself. So whether shooting up hill or down hill, the horizontal distance is always less, meaning you would aim slightly lower than the line of sight distance, on longer shots.
Good question Tanner. They are both great heads, and I'd be confident with either on the end of my arrow. But the Exodus would get the nod for sure. It is truly one of the most durable heads on the market.
I really like the Afflictors. I've taken hogs with them and they performed very well. But the Exodus are way more durable. I can shoot them thru a steel plate 5 times with zero damage--and even into a cinder block. You can see the vid of the Afflictor Fixeds here on my channel for comparison.
took two bucks with the Exodus this week. They each went 50 yds max. The first punched through both shoulder blades and passed through. Been looking for a good broadhead for a long time and I finally found it...
Oh that's great to hear. They are an extremely solid head--I think maybe the best "overall" head there is, when it comes to the balance of flight, cut size, penetration, durability, edge retention, and price.
John, could you tell me how would I go about donating a pack of broadheads for testing? I have a dandy for us all to see go through your testing. Thanks.
Well, I've done vids of both, but they are such different designs, they are not really worth comparing, other than watching each of the vids. Both fly the same. Both are extremely durable. Both hold they edge very well. But the Exodus does penetrate more deeply in the mediums I've tested them in and the Exodus makes a bigger hole. How much that back pressure of the Ann makes a difference in animals has yet to be seen. I've not tested it on animals yet. I've heard very mixed reviews. Some say it has really opened animals up and some say it just left a small hole. I think that largely depends on where you hit the animal. But overall, I prefer a larger hole when it comes to blood letting, and the Exodus does that.
Cameron Alexander Yeah, that is nice. Although, with the offset blades, there is a very slight rotation...just enough to make it VERY difficult to pull the arrows from a target. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I think the stroke of the arrow test is genius on your part and vary telling as well . one stroke and it is no longer able to cut paper!!!! Can you say cheep material.
Yeah, I like that as well. But the Exodus comes in a Full model that is not barbed. And the Swhacker has offset blades, which is good, but makes it a bit more difficult to pull out of a target, even with the way they can be forced forward.
Hey Bud. I do. There's one called "Opened Him Up: Oklahoma Hog Bowhunt" and another called, "Stalk & Kill Hog Hunt with Exodus Broadhead". And there are a bunch of others with the Exodus--like African animals and black bear as well--all on my channel.
Jason Sparks Yeah, it did fairly well, but the Exodus is way better. Oh, I just realized I left off the price. Dang it. The Exodus are even less expensive.
Yeah, it's hard to beat the Exodus--one of, if not THE, best all round head made--incredible balance of price, cut size, flight, ferrule strength, edge retention, penetration, and flexibility to either resharpen or replace the blades.
Don Caruso it also didn’t shear off a blade and ruin an expensive arrow. As for Chinese knockoffs I can’t say for sure but that doesn’t seem like something he would do without being open about it.
Has it ever bothered anyone else that the company that makes the Swhackers spelled the name wrong right from the start? Unless I'm mistaken, shouldn't it be spelled SHWACKER? The name is supposed to represent the sound of the arrow hitting the target, right? The sound would be a "Shwack", not "Swhack". I know, it's irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, it just bugs me that nobody at the company caught this when they named the broadhead.
@Jim Jimmy Aww, sunshine, did I hurt your feelings? I guess that's your broadhead of choice and you're offended that someone said something negative about them. Ok, I'm sorry. There. Feel better?
@@LuskArcheryAdventures my thinking is that it’s a play on the term “whack” (verb-to strike forcefully with a sharp blow; noun-a sharp or resounding blow). When arrow flies, lots of times there is a slight hissing sound, almost like a snakes voice. So if you wanting to simulate the sound of a sharp, resounding blow from arrow flight into a solid target...adding an s to whack would be a close way to convey their marketed claims of their heads’ performance.
Well, I got a new and very expensive mic. But I have figured out that it's when I don't speak directly in front of it, the sound gets garbled when it's processed by RUclips. In my version, before uploading, it sounds great. So now I'm working on speaking directly in front of it or using my phone when I am observing/commenting.
Your measuring tape isn’t accurate it starts at 1 inch?!?! I’ve noticed this on a few of your videos!!! I love your reviews and battles but you are giving false readings
Yes, I’ve watched almost all your broadheads test some several times. So I’m aware of your set up and attention to detail. However I’m pretty sure if you rewatch this video and the Alien archery head review. You will see from the camera anger that you are showing us. That the tape starts at 1 inch mark prior to the rubbber mat and MDF. It may be a camera angle thing. But from what I’m seeing and I rewinded and re watched this several times and zoomed in the tape is at the 1 inch mark. Not trying to attack you just bringing it to your attention. Like I said maybe it is a camera angle thing, but I know what I see on the video and it makes it look like you are fudging the numbers. Thanks for your response and the awesome selection of broadheads you test. It has helped me lots in my pursuit of a new head to shoot!!!
Yeah, but ramcat went to shit anyway when sold to big corporation. It always happens! So stupid! Oh this is good! Let's cut corners and ruin the product and drive the brand into the toilet!

It's amazing how telling that stroke of the arrow is in regards to edge quality!
Right? I tested a bunch of different materials and the Easton Hexx shaft seemed to be the perfect one to reveal edge retention within a few strokes.

Great vid john! This is a vefy off topic question but if you are shooting a declining or an ascending shot where would you aim?

Carl Trano Yes, very revealing isn’t it?
That wouldn't happen with a very small profile Bishop Holy Trinity which tune great. Sharpen even better.
Yes the Bishop hold their edge better than any head I've tested.
Where would i send my heads of interest too?
Just shoot me a PM on Instagram or Facebook, to Lusk Archery Adventures. Or email me at JohnLusk64@gmail.com
I like the swhacker due to the blades being sharp on the back and that they rotate forward. Not barbed. Barbed are illegal in some states.
Yeah, I like that as well. But the Exodus comes in a Full model that is not barbed. And the Swhacker has offset blades, which is good, but makes it a bit more difficult to pull out of a target, even with the way they can be forced forward.
Let’s see Exodus vs Slick Trick Grizz 2
Well, they're such different designs--4 blade vs 3 blade. But I do have a test of the Grizz Trick 2 that i will be posting soon.
Do you have any videos with the Exodus maybe shooting a hog you can repost?
Hey Bud. I do. There's one called "Opened Him Up: Oklahoma Hog Bowhunt" and another called, "Stalk & Kill Hog Hunt with Exodus Broadhead". And there are a bunch of others with the Exodus--like African animals and black bear as well--all on my channel.
Exodus should sharpen the back of their blades. They are one tough head and a great design.
Vinny Fonte Yeah, but that’s exactly why they don’t. Doing so thins out the blades ever so slightly and makes them less durable. Thanks for watching!

The exodus is the best head on the market imo. QAD killed it with that design. Features DEATH
Yeah, it's hard to beat the Exodus--one of, if not THE, best all round head made--incredible balance of price, cut size, flight, ferrule strength, edge retention, penetration, and flexibility to either resharpen or replace the blades.
Shwacker is a direct copey of the RamCat
Don Caruso Yeah, there are some distinct similarities :)
and yet the Shwacker outperformed the RamCat. Seems more like an improvement than a copy to me
@@jameshagerman7681 it did not out penetrate it and I also believe he had the Chinese knockoffs.
