The last broadhead in your test was a magnus glue on100 gr 2 blade with a installed screw in adapter, this broadhead was made in 2004 and we sold the glue on broadhead line in 2012 and we continue to make a entire line of our magnusbroadheads-LIFETIME REPLACEMENT GUARANTEE. 2024 is our 40th year making broadheads.
Love the “pumpkin assumptions “! Definitely need same sized or one pumpkin to compare head styles. Big pumpkins are a great test though when you think about their structure. Thx for this!👍🏻
In all my bow hunting season's. I have used the Rage hypodermic no collar. I get a big cut or pass through. The blood trails are awesome. They are 60 bucks for a 3 pack at Lancaster archery supply. Or Amazon the same thing for 37 dollars.
I love SEVR 2.0 mech's and used magus stingers for years! Now i use iron wills because they make a field point that flies like the head. Your old dad's did the deed though. Keep it up brother!!
Great video! I do think the bigger pumpkin does make a difference. Very interesting results. I’d love to see the Ramcat Hydroshock 100 grain out to the test. I’ve used it for 10 years and yet to have a bad experience or a deer run far. Only knock on them is they don’t fit well in any quiver.
The mechanical pumpkin wall thickness had to be a lot less than the one used for the mechanicals. Would have been great to see the pumkins cut in half and the wall thickness compared.
@@BackyardBows the wider pumpkin would grab the arrow shaft for longer. Idk now much the guts of the pumpkin would matter as that's more of an individual pumpkin thing.
There are so many different factors that come into penetration. The angle of the blades matter alot with penetration. Im assuming that's why that old one did better than them all. Great video as always.
fun to watch but has zero to do with what they do on an animal and maybe its just the video but that plywood looks old and water logged. any head will pass through a deer without a bone hit but the cut on contact head will do better on not so good hits. also the heads your calling single bevel are double bevel heads. I use the iron will single bevels the qad the magnus black hornets and the tooth of the arrow single bevels all great heads. I do keep a shwacker in my quiver for a follow up shot so im not chancing my better heads. as always great video man thx
So I bet if the blades are inline with the woodgrain they go through better, whereas the ones with blades that are cross grain slow faster with less penetration
The target defines the test. If this was in any way a legitimate test relating to performance on game animals then we would see the same amount of penetration on every animal shot regardless of arrow and broadhead choice. We know however that that is not the case. We see different amounts of penetration on game animals so any test that shows results that are all comparable are just invalid in a hunting situation. But I guess if anyone decides to hunt a pumpkin and plywood then you have proved to them that any broadhead will work and none of them will drastically outperform their competitors. Appreciate the effort and time taken to create the video it just doesn’t translate any real credible useful information as far as broadhead performance on game animals.
I appreciate your comment but I beg to differ, half inch plywood is a great comparison to shoulder bone and the pumpkin is a very comparable to the rib cage, very thought out and consistent with real life applications
@@BackyardBows not saying you didn’t put any thought into it I’m just saying your test is flawed. Every time you shoot the pumpkin and the board it changes the density of each object. Also wood is not a good representation of bone. Bone tends to crack and breaks away when penetrated. Wood does not it tends to hug the object that penetrates it hence the reason houses stay together with nails and screws. Also a pumpkin wouldn’t be the best representation of an animal. Animals have hair hide multiple layers and thicknesses of muscle that’s going in multiple directions as well as bones. I’m glad so many people on RUclips are trying to “test” these things but 98% of the broadhead tests found on RUclips while they may be fun to do or even entertaining to watch offer little to no credible evidence in a hunting situation. I’d just like to see the folks running these tests find a better way to run their test so that we quit misleading people that may be new to the bow hunting community.
@@wrmartin73 Well, I thought that a BIG pumpkin like that, DRAPED w/hide, NO wood behind, could be a good test for 1 particular head, to see how it performed(open+ exit holes). But, when u shoot 10, in same pumpkin.... And, I agree with your assessment of the test too.
it was part of our traditional line which the traditional line was sold in 2012. Ted used our stingers and stinger buzzcut and we also made the nugent blade-1999 to 2005.
Would've found out for sure if you would have shot the best penetrating mechanical into the same pumpkin you just shot the fixed heads into. Just saying lol also without a doubt fixed cut on contact heads out penetrate mechanicals.

lol I heard him say single bevel too the iron will was a single bevel lol it was a good test give him a break I like all his bow videos I like this video too
@artorautevaara2377 ya also throwing 200 grains on a 300 spine arrow probably made that arrow do all sorts of crazy stuff but I get what he is doing it was a good video
Once again, no VPA heads included in another fixed blade broadhead "test". The only test that matters is what the head does on tissue, organs and bone. That aside, VPAs are 100% made in the USA and all materials are sourced in the USA, unlike some of the cheap chinese garbage in this video.
I am after a fixed blade broadhead that has the best killing and bone punching ability 😋 I hunt in the hills in NZ ALOT!! and sometime ya just get a little bit of wind on a hill shot, that pushes ya arrow in to shoulder blade territory 🫣 I've had it happen a few times, The grim reaper, Toxic and helix have either not penetrated at all or deflected really badly 😬

also, not a single bevel...
The QAD exodus used is the swept version, would be interesting to see if the non swept version would penetrate any differently
Fred Bear killed everything on the planet with his old 2 bladed ,hand sharpened broadheads, Grizzlies, Elephants, cape Buffalo.
Thanks for these broadhead videos. There's hundreds on the market and it's pretty awesome how many between the two videos that you were able to test.
Love the “pumpkin assumptions “! Definitely need same sized or one pumpkin to compare head styles. Big pumpkins are a great test though when you think about their structure. Thx for this!👍🏻
Great video!!!
That had to be a good time! 😎👍🏻👍🏻
This is extremely helpful and changed my mind on a few of the broadheads that I have been using
love your videos! man would love to see the beast against the swhacker

I also shoot NAP HELLRAZOR fixed blade broadheads 100 grain. It's all steel. They sharpen up very nice. But sharp out of the box.
I love SEVR 2.0 mech's and used magus stingers for years! Now i use iron wills because they make a field point that flies like the head. Your old dad's did the deed though. Keep it up brother!!
Glad to see Mozzy did well I have been shooting them
Definitely would be fun to test! That was a tough pumpkin lol
Grim Reaper BHs are clutch ! 🏹. Good vids bro
interested to see mechanicals on the big pumpkin now haha

I did and the larger pumpkin was only a half inch thicker on both sides that is , I think the longer travel made more of the difference
@@BackyardBows the wider pumpkin would grab the arrow shaft for longer. Idk now much the guts of the pumpkin would matter as that's more of an individual pumpkin thing.
@@tsi-rocket4144 that makes sense cause it sure did slow those fixed heads down
They all work well. Match the broadhead to your setup and your critters.
Your not lying
I would love to see these tested with some different arrows but great video
What happened with the deepower
There are so many different factors that come into penetration. The angle of the blades matter alot with penetration. Im assuming that's why that old one did better than them all. Great video as always.
You can't beat the qad exodus for a fixed blade broadhead. They fly awesome and are built like tanks ,they are very sharp and they are made in the usa!
I'm so disappointed you didn't shoot a swhacker to compare with the bigger pumpkin haha. Great videos!

I think u should review truglo titanium X large game fixed 2blade Broadhead
The iron wills are only 40 a piece!! 😂😅😂😅 I
have them.
Are the 200 grain $40? He was shooting the 200 grain
So I bet if the blades are inline with the woodgrain they go through better, whereas the ones with blades that are cross grain slow faster with less penetration
I would agree didn’t think of that
Slick Trick!
One of the ones I’m use this fall
Seems mechanical have less overall surface area and may have less drag try the mechanical on the big pumpkin?

Should have shot the schwaker at the big pumpkin and see what happens
Hindsight is a bitch lol
THE ONLY ONE I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO…THE RAMCAT AND YOU DIDNT EVEN SHOOT IT
Ok that last head is definitely NOT a single bevel.
Correct I mispoke appreciate you being on top of it
None of those were single bevel. Would have loved to see some single bevels is the video, though
Yes I mispoke note taken and will have to add some to the bonus round any one in particular u would like to see
Cutthroat, tooth of the arrow single bevel, and vpa
lol I heard him say single bevel too the iron will was a single bevel lol it was a good test give him a break I like all his bow videos I like this video too
@@eliaspuebla9015 I fumble my words from time to time lol
Only single bevel was the Iron Will. The rest were double bevel.
I mispoke u are correct
Iron will probably would have made it farther if the arrow hadn't broke I think that insert system can't handle that amount of torque
You got a point here,, I would like to see some good inserts,, I need a bit weight on my arrow.. 60-100gr.. ? maybe top hat?
