I'm a long time bow hunter, and every year I watch prices go up and up. It's not that I can't afford the flagship bows, I can, but I frankly resent having to pay these absurd prices, and I'm not going to. These Sanlida Dragon 10's are getting great reviews. So, I'm buying one and if I don't like it I'll send it back
Looking forward to seeing that one. Came across your channel a while back. Appreciate the great reviews and good work you do on behalf of us bowhunters
I owned the dragon x8 for 2 years now. The sanlida dragon x8 is a really good bow and until now all the components on the bow still intact without any problem and still shoots good as it was before. Looking forward to this new dragon 10
I bought the dragon x8 a couple of years ago for my wife to get into archery. She never got into bow hunting so I set it for me and absolutely loved shooting it. I made a few upgrades with new arrows drop away rest sight and stabilizer. I have a older hoyt that had a harsh draw. The dragon x8 was so smooth and light the hoyt was put back under the bed. Enjoyed the review, keep up the good work
Like it or not sanlida is a solid bow company. They've been making bows the last 20 plus years and in my opinion have proven to be legit. Believe it or not sanlida does have $1500 - $2500 bows and the quality really is hard to beat
Have the dragon X9, just purchased this X10. I can tell you that the actual Sanlida bows are solid, you just have to upgrade certain accessories (which you'll do with any setup). I'm excited about this X10!
I am upgrading to the Dragon 10 for the 2024 season. I have the Dragon x8 currently. It is a fabulous bow. You should definitely try to review the x8 or x9. I would definitely love to hear your expert advice on either of those bows also. Thanks. Keep up the great videos! Also they make 2 cams for that bow. One is 27-30 draw and the other is for 30-32 inch draw.
I agree! If American bow makers want to be competitive, they need more of a mid-market bow for us working people. Why are bows only 'budget' or 'flagship'? Not everyone wants to spend $1,200+ for a bow to drag through wet bush, and up and down a tree stand.

@@BackyardBows for sure! I watch every review you do brother! most honest reviewer on youtube! I have owned a couple of bears in my day they all were great lil shooters, I was barking at the fanboys!
Totally agree 100% with your entire review! I just received the Dragon 10, 50-60, 27"-30" same color (only color available in my preferred weight range). My current setup revolves around the Bear Execute EKO 32" so that's what I'm comparing it to. This bow is as dead in the hand. The draw cycle is smooth and rock solid back wall but I do get the feeling that it "wants to go" and you can feel it. Any relaxing and it'll jerk. What I noticed immediately is how easily I was able to get on target. I have target panic, so much so that I compensate with a 6 O'clock zero (yeah, I know...) but it works for me. At full draw my pin is where I'm looking, not something that's easy to come by. Going to stop by the LAS after work this afternoon for a "proper" setup. I honestly (so far) like this better than my Execute......time will tell.
As a traditional Bowhunter I own a few custom bows, so I tried a longbow called old Mountain Mesa from Three rivers archery it to is made overseas, I loved the bow so much I now have two of them. If the archery companies here in America don’t do something about their stupid high prices their going to pay a price in the end. If you go and buy a high end compound bow with all the goodies to go with it your going to be around the 2,500 to 3,000 dollar mark. That is insane
Hunt with the Dragon x8 i love it! 0-70lbs pretty accurate little bow. Everything is just so customizable with it and theres no need for a press. I really wanna get my 8 year old the same bow because he can draw mine

The Dragon 10 looks like an outstanding bow. I to am sad that a china based company has put out a nice bow but hey if fills a market that apeals to new and money conscious people , great review.

Great vids brother! Thank you for making em! was wondering. During the noise test. Do you think the arrow hitting the target might be getting picked up over the bow? On vid it seems like the arrow hitting in that room is way louder than the bow itself.
We have considered that and recently bought a Vegas big shot with a dampening system I front of it to hopefully eliminate that possibility which we first tested in the Athens review and will use from here on out
I would only have a concern getting string specs. I’m sure they will be like most and need to be replaced with something quality sooner than later. Good review.
I have a sanlida dragon x8 and it has impressed me it shoots better then my pse bow both set up the same way out of the box easy setup and completely adjustable

@BackyardBows I'm the one that requested and I draw 31.5 which is why I know...LOL.... Also in my research sometimes you need a cable twist to get the true 70lb it often falls just under around 68.x or should I say ive seen cases.... As a previous Hoyt shooter as SOON as I seen it I thought Hoyt heh.... Thanks SO much, I think after your endorsement, I'll make my new years resolution to pick up archery again ( and teach to my grandson) and do it using this bow with the money I save on a bare bow vs an Alpha 33 or Rx8 or Lift 33...I'll buy a better rest and sight ( which sanlida does make a dial sight now ), offset stabilizer for front and rear...and still be all in 800.... I know your shoulder is kinda sensitive, I remember reviews where your like nope not even gonna try that on a 60 second hold I'm done, it's real easy to tell if a draw cycle is harsh on your videos lol...if it's harsh you aren't having it ( oddly those bows are often 4x the cost )...THATS what I was waiting on.....if you enjoyed it I know I can't be wasting my money and it's easier to risk 440 to get back going than 2000 especially if my body doesnt hold up...ill order mine in wilderness... Really appreciate ALL content and what a great Christmas present...there were flagships that were louder as well.... That tech score I'm sure is fair I mean no IMS or rails ect, you DO have to know your draw within reason because it's not a module it's the entire cam if your over 30"...but I hadn't caught the tie in for the drop away which I'll be using.... WE watch you draw bows and this one looks looks nasty at full draw so looks are there they REALLY needed a fade like Wilderness fade to black ect... Hope you have a great Christmas and happy new year.... I know it sucks I'm a proud American too, but the limbs are made here, and it's gonna take people buying bows like this with top notch accessories shooting well and harvesting to get the flagship bow makers back in control because they are OFF the chain...there is NO way a LIFT or Alpha33 cost 4-5x more than this bow to manufacture especially when there is no import and shipping, the profit margin must be insane....if they disagree open them books...ok then.....
I own a 3D Course and have 4 of these bows as rent out equipment or to teach people how to shoot compounds. So far i‘ve never had any major issues with these, quality is really good. Nothing rattles lose or something like that. The only things i noticed so far the strings and cables stretch and wear a little more compared to american made bow with the same number of shots.
Hey good thing about that is they list all their cable and string lengths on their site almost like they know your gonna need some heh......take the LIFT one big selling point this year is the Match strings, which means people paid all that money for the Phase 4 last year and immediately were upgrading their strings adding another 150 to the price... Makes me wonder will it perform even better once your wear out this first set and put good aftermarket on...
Did you have to have any special insurance, etc...? I'd like to give free lessons to people who want to get into it, but worried about the people like the robbers that get hurt in your house, and try to sue you.
@@WolfinWolvesClothing713 The people who are interested usually come to our local archery club or a bow shop that a friend of mine owns, so you can see if they are really willing to learn something. Then, I just check if they have any experience with archery at all, like traditional or something, and let them sign a little contract that they can't sue me for injuries from just being silly with the bow and doing shit. It's also a good idea to use equipment that is simple and not much can go wrong: a simple wrist strap release, whisker biscuit rest, sight with one pin, and so on. Make sure they understand how the stuff works before they shoot. And then just teach them step by step, making sure they do it right from the start. A common problem, for example, is people trying to draw with the finger on the trigger. By keeping it simple and teaching in small steps, I've never really had any problems so far.

Thanks for reviewing something that personally I wouldn't even consider, but I realize that there is a market for this, and as you said it is a nice option to get guys in the field that don't have $1000+++ to spend!
I really wish you would have got the ready to hunt set up with the Sanlida accessories, I'm very interested to know how there fall away rest works as well as there adjustable sight.
I wanted pick this up after seeing your review on it. Keep in mind I still have my first bow from a couple years ago, my Bear Legit. And I do plan on purchasing a flagship in a year or so. I’m leaning towards the PSE Mach 30. It’s hard being a lefty because the shops in my town have very limited options for left handed people, usually no more than 1-2 bows, maybe 1 left handed drop away rest on the wall too. Depending on the day not even 1 left handed bow on the wall. Sadly I’m left to reviews when doing my shopping but luckily we have channels like yours on RUclips. I’d love to have this bow in my lineup alongside my Bear Legit and my future flagship. If you have any contact with Sanlida tell them to hook up the south paws with this one lol
Would like to see you break this down on the individual parts themselves, cams, limb pockets, riser. The string and anything else, then put it up against a Bear bow of the same price range.
I was wondering if you would test all the bows a 2nd time at 27 or 28 in draw, I think most ppl shot around 28 in and 400 gr to 475 gr arrow so maybe shoot at 27.5 in with 350 gr 450 gr and 550 gr so we know what bows perform the best at little shorter draw. Thanks
Buy last year's big name bows on clearance sales or even new bows from 2 years ago. You can usually buy those for almost 3 to 4 hundred less. I do this about every 5 years.
@jessiecarroll7003 I got one for my father in law, solo cam and it's definitely smooth....he shoots recuves but I got him an entire kit for Christmas with case, hell even my daughter can shoot a 55lb recurve instinctive/fingers hehe I'm proud of that..... I have zero against Bear personally, EXCEPT making that Pro Shop only bow with the exact features us prosumers would want forcing us to interact with them to get it ( and them make their profit)... But appearance is a thing like Brandon has said, and like this review said customers thought Hoyt released a new bow......I'm old and looks still matter even when I know they shouldn't lol.....this thing LOOKS like a flag ship especially when it's decked out with front and rear stabilizers, a drop away rest and dial to shoot sight ect.... Bear should do one in between like this
Have you tuned this for fixed blade broadheads, I want to get this bow because of the price, but another reviewer said he could not get it tuned for fixed blades due to the hybrid cam system, he speculated.
Many of have been saying the same thing for the last ten years or so. The bow companies have been price gouging on flagship bows. A large percentage of the bowhunting community are retirement age now (myself included). I can't justify spending the price they are charging.
APA has the bows with the RiserTech thingy forward of the grip. Hoyt has it to the rear of the grip. I was looking at this bow, but it doesn't go down to my drawlength of 26.5" (I'm actually 27", but you know most bows run a 1/2" longer than spec'ed).
Awesome work, I am 44 and I just start archery, I am totally I. Loved I get myself a x8 to see if I was gonna feel really attracted to the sport and is being wonderful with out breaking the credit card as for paying 2000 for a bow make it an elite sport, now I think after watching the video I will upgrade to x10 and yes we all love America made stuff, but stuff is getting unaffordable, great wake up call to American manufacturers
I've watched some videos of the x9. I'm curious if you reviewed it, what you would think. Seems a lot of the reviews complain about the arrow rest interfering with the fletch of the supplied arrows then they complain about accuracy. They switch arrows and still complain about accuracy. My thought is switch out the rest for something affordable and then try it out. I'm also curious about your thoughts on one bow going from very short draw length all the way up to 31 or 32 inches. Your review of the dragon 10 was THE most in depth and thorough I've seen. Looking forward to checking out more of your vids.
I used to buy flagship bows the second they released every year. I still buy flagship bows, but I wait till they release their latest bow, then I buy the previous year bow for a discount. And I usually do it every 2 years because they change almost nothing from year to year
I definitely agree there needs to be something nice in the lower price range. I just have a hard time believing it costs well over twice as much to produce a bow now as it did just 6-7 years ago. I have an Elite omnia from 2017 that I got brand new for less than $500. Any top end bow is starting at $1200 now, right? Doesn’t seem like THAT much more tech and quality to over double the price. I truly think it’s just because people will pay it now…
@@chrississon2646I misspoke. I have a bee omnia. My 1017 is an impulse 31. I also got my Omnia a couple months ago in brand new condition used from a bow shop near Boston for $735. It is virtually brand new condition except it already had a peep sight and d-loop tied on. That’s about $500 less than the price tag on new ones I’ve looked at.
Stuck comparing this and the diamond edge 320,ive only ever used hand me down bears and bowtechs.i bought a bear limitless awhile back and i found out i dont like the micros.now the edge 320 is 32 axle to axle and the dragon x10 is 33.5 and there both around the same price,im just curious if that 1.5 inch is going to matter alot and if i should just stick with a bowtech bow,i know not to be a fanboy when it comes to these things but i know bowtech and diamond and shot both, this company ive never heard of.would love to see a comparison between this and some other brand name similarly priced bows or even just ones of similar axle to axle
So I can choose between Bowtech Icon , Sanlida dragon 10 , PSE Ferocity 2018 They are all about the same price in my country . What would you get ? Most I care about it speed and accuracy . I dont care if it US made , Chinese made ,Russian made i care about price to performance.
Great review brother. Ive been shooting Elite for years. My kids shoot Elite and Bear. Any way you can come up on a Bear Persist? Thnx again for what you do big dawg.
Qual diferença entre o sanlida dragon x8, para o x9, para o x10? Pois estou a procura de um deles porém a diferença de preço é muito alta e não vejo tanta diferença
Thanks for the review! I don't think it's for me, but good review. A couple of US made options that are affordable, are the lower end Obsessions and High Country Archery. Neither seem to get much attention but they look solid and seem to be trying to get back into the game. I would love to see reviews on them if you get chance. I'm sure they would like to get their product reviews out there.
You should do a ready to hunt package like a bear or diamond from cabelas. I just started shooting a year or so ago and got one fell in love with it. now im waiting on a newer hoyt bow lol😂
@@BackyardBows i just started watching the channel to watch your review on the z1s. the bow shop i go through made me a deal on one but have been watching more of your stuff on bows i haven’t heard of. the unbiased is what separates you from most! keep doing it
It actually shoots 349 at 32" and 68lbs... It shoots 333 w 350gr arrow at 30" draw and only 68.5lbs...twist the cables get that to true 70 and she is right on the money but I don't think I seen 1 flag ship get within single digits of their rating this year lol....at 4.5x cost....
I bet with a decent set of strings it would be even better. I'm glad to see this. Seriously tired of the price gouging. Personally I only look at flag ship bows the following fall when they drop 40% in value. Bow resale is horrendous.
Yea its not that the Dragon is costing 4.5x less due to child labor, the industry is absolutely getting price gouged to tell it might cost them 20% more to make not 450% more...also the proshops probably make 30% too
From experience, it is really good. I was just getting into it with a Sanlida x8 and I shot an arrow that was way too light and bent my cams. Sanlida sent me new cams free of charge. You have to buy then from amazon or sanlida to have a warranty though
Have you ever reviewd a " High Country ×12?, its an older design, thats been reissued. Its excellent! I like it better than all my other bows except my black mamba 35
I have this bow I am happy with it but I want to contact the company to buy some more products... I cannot get any contact information where someone would call me back.. and the bow(thex8)is not pulling 70 lb.... I think it is a 60 lb bow
I don't know why they haven't got on this I'm under the impression this is stolen.... Not to be racist but I don't think the Chinese can make something like this.. or would even want to
The new Bowtech Honor package cost 4 grand. Unbelievable. Bear and PSE mainline bows are great cost-effective alternatives to flagship bows. The dead deer do not ever complain.
When Bows are more expensive tben high end firearms is gettin to be Bullbuttef!! My dad retired UAW and im sick of american made cars and fed up with some of these Bow prices.
I know it sucks I'm a proud American too, but the limbs are made here, and it's gonna take people buying bows like this with top notch accessories shooting well and harvesting to get the flagship bow makers back in control because they are OFF the chain...there is NO way a LIFT or Alpha33 cost 4-5x more than this bow to manufacture especially when there is no import and shipping, the profit margin must be insane....if they disagree open them books...ok then.....
you should do the dragon x8
it comes out to 32 inch DL it orders with a normal and a LD cam
I own a 3D Course and have 4 of these bows as rent out equipment or to teach people how to shoot compounds. So far i‘ve never had any major issues with these, quality is really good. Nothing rattles lose or something like that. The only things i noticed so far the strings and cables stretch and wear a little more compared to american made bow with the same number of shots.
Love the feedback

Or waste
@@ShawnGilbert1967aye aye wasted 1000$$
I have the Dragon 8 and its a really good bow.
for this bow they do have 2 different cam sizes med(27-30in draw ) and large(30-32in draw) I've only found the large in the package they offer also
Would like to see you break this down on the individual parts themselves, cams, limb pockets, riser.
I love American made stuff too. I really like Chinese Tupperware it seems.
I bought a Bear Legend XR this year. 500 dollars and it shoots absolutely amazing.
Agreed
I looked at them nice bow, not long enough for my draw and slower than I want but nothing wrong with that bow either...
Yes not very fast but the draw cycle is a dream to pull back.
Bear should do one in between like this
do a review for the sanlida x8
Seems like a pretty decent bow!!
Can you shim the cam for a paper tear or is it yoke only tuning
Awesome video as always and i can't wait to see you test the new bear Alaskan xt
How did it do when paper tuning ? I have this bow and I can’t get a left tear out when paper tuning
In your opinion, how does this bow stack against the legit or legend pro you reviewed?
they offer them in a 30-32 draw length called large cam
Kind of release you got?
I really like your videos man, would you go with vtm or dragon 10?
I bought a dragon X8 as a backup it's worth it but my primary is my bear arena 30
I’ve got the Dragon x9 and it’s a great shooter. Paid $269 for the full package.
Great bow for the price, love mines....
Would you take this bow over bear adapt?? I understand the adapt is a single cam
No I would buy American, if that wasn’t a factor yes
Thanks for the reply man...love the videos keep up the good work
I used to buy flagship bows the second they released every year. I still buy flagship bows, but I wait till they release their latest bow, then I buy the previous year bow for a discount. And I usually do it every 2 years because they change almost nothing from year to year
You can order in in medium 27-30 and lange 29-32
Love that
You should do a comparison of this and the Topoint Acuity
I definitely agree there needs to be something nice in the lower price range. I just have a hard time believing it costs well over twice as much to produce a bow now as it did just 6-7 years ago. I have an Elite omnia from 2017 that I got brand new for less than $500. Any top end bow is starting at $1200 now, right? Doesn’t seem like THAT much more tech and quality to over double the price. I truly think it’s just because people will pay it now…
Elite omnia 2017 , what did you get a prototype
@@chrississon2646I misspoke. I have a bee omnia. My 1017 is an impulse 31. I also got my Omnia a couple months ago in brand new condition used from a bow shop near Boston for $735. It is virtually brand new condition except it already had a peep sight and d-loop tied on. That’s about $500 less than the price tag on new ones I’ve looked at.
*new Omnia
According to lusk archery adventure the string is made in USA.
Everyone keep in mind when your wanting an “American Made” product that very very little of it needs to be actually made here to claim that.
It’s so true and many don’t know the reality
It will still be manufactured by a American owned company.
The same phonies grandstanding against Chinese bows are probably making those comments on their thousand dollar Chinese cell phones lol.
CHOMPING AT THE BIT
I would love to see a review on the new Dartons . I heard they are really something. Totally redone.
Also love the honest reviews keep up the good work.
Should be getting two dartons in soon
Hiw does this bow compare to a bear adapt
So I can choose between Bowtech Icon , Sanlida dragon 10 , PSE Ferocity 2018 They are all about the same price in my country . What would you get ? Most I care about it speed and accuracy . I dont care if it US made , Chinese made ,Russian made i care about price to performance.
Hey man could you do a review on an older bow like the Hoyt spider turbo
I love throwing timeless bows in when I can I’ll try and slide some in
7:18 Is that a fancy cut or do I see one of your kids running to get out of the way of you shooting while they are playing in the backyard? 😧
He is the one working the camera lol
Great review brother. Ive been shooting Elite for years. My kids shoot Elite and Bear. Any way you can come up on a Bear Persist? Thnx again for what you do big dawg.
Can you please test the shengsuan x5 carbon bow
Email sent
I love your videos I'm trying to figure out what bow to buy.so much good info thank you
Qual diferença entre o sanlida dragon x8, para o x9, para o x10? Pois estou a procura de um deles porém a diferença de preço é muito alta e não vejo tanta diferença
Thanks for the review! I don't think it's for me, but good review. A couple of US made options that are affordable, are the lower end Obsessions and High Country Archery. Neither seem to get much attention but they look solid and seem to be trying to get back into the game. I would love to see reviews on them if you get chance. I'm sure they would like to get their product reviews out there.
Contacted high country thanks for suggestion.
You should do a ready to hunt package like a bear or diamond from cabelas. I just started shooting a year or so ago and got one fell in love with it. now im waiting on a newer hoyt bow lol😂
We have done several check em out
@@BackyardBows i just started watching the channel to watch your review on the z1s. the bow shop i go through made me a deal on one but have been watching more of your stuff on bows i haven’t heard of. the unbiased is what separates you from most! keep doing it
@@dalton_fry appreciate the feedback and suggestions 🙏
This versus Matthew’s switch versus Darton consequence?
Dam that is honestly a tough one 🤔
Facts are it's not the bow it's the shooter.i have this bow and it does just fine.i like it alot and it fit my budget
Agree partially
Anyone know what boots Brandon is wearing?
the IBO speed they list is at 32" DL 70lbs 350 grain arrow no fletches probably
It's a lot closer than a lot of flag ships which almost all have been rated 20 over what they will actually shoot
Yea its not that the Dragon is costing 4.5x less due to child labor, the industry is absolutely getting price gouged to tell it might cost them 20% more to make not 450% more...also the proshops probably make 30% too
I wonder about warranty support.
That’s something I have thought about to
From experience, it is really good. I was just getting into it with a Sanlida x8 and I shot an arrow that was way too light and bent my cams. Sanlida sent me new cams free of charge. You have to buy then from amazon or sanlida to have a warranty though
Cool bow!
Damn I want one but I need a left hand bow.
Have you ever reviewd a " High Country ×12?, its an older design, thats been reissued. Its excellent! I like it better than all my other bows except my black mamba 35
Looking into them thanks for recommending
I remember high country was one of the fastest bows you could get 20 yrs ago. Everyone liked them that shot them.
My son bought a 1000$ elite bow today and all set up was 1300 $ ...I think I will buy the dragon
Good dad Sacrifice right there , but really u won’t be disappointed
Start your own low budget quality bow line
I have this bow I am happy with it but I want to contact the company to buy some more products... I cannot get any contact information where someone would call me back.. and the bow(thex8)is not pulling 70 lb.... I think it is a 60 lb bow
I only paid $250 for mine,.. I have the X8.... I learn how to shoot with that bow
I don't know why they haven't got on this I'm under the impression this is stolen.... Not to be racist but I don't think the Chinese can make something like this.. or would even want to
That's all I could afford... I'm on disability
Thanks good stuff
Darton made a budget bow that is spose to be really nice
It’s ordered can’t wait for that one
The new Bowtech Honor package cost 4 grand. Unbelievable. Bear and PSE mainline bows are great cost-effective alternatives to flagship bows. The dead deer do not ever complain.
I’m gana have to get my hands on this Bowtech I thought they were joking at first
When Bows are more expensive tben high end firearms is gettin to be Bullbuttef!! My dad retired UAW and im sick of american made cars and fed up with some of these Bow prices. I WAS WANTING TO GET A USED bow made in 2019 American made company and tbey want over a thousand for it!! I dont understand how bows are gettin more expensive then freaking SIGS AND KIMBER HANDGUNS!! THESE COMPANIES ARE RIPPING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OFF!! IM ABOUT GO START BUYIN FOREIGN CARS AND NOW BOWS!!! IM FED UP WITH THE BULLCRAP PRICES!!!
I have a suggestion for ya and hope you do it just go buy a Mathews Lift 29.5 80 pound mod 29 inch in that sand color and then just ship it to me that would be great ....for real thx for the info on these bows this seems like one of the better amazon bows...
Lot of comment so maybe its been mentioned, you can get 30 to 32 inch draw as well!
Yessir that is something brought to my attention afterwards which is awesome for those longer draw guys
