That ‘Islamist Scumbags’ line was actually perfectly delivered
as a muslim I think this was honestly perfectly delivered, and I dont get to say that alot of times when conservatives talk about terrorism or the middle east. Islamists and jihadists should be viewed as a threat to democracy both in the west and the east where they're trying to dent up already existing democracies like pakistan, lebanon, egypt, morroco and the others.
This whole speech was perfectly delivered!
And maybe the reason he no longer works for the BBC.

Shapiro went up against this guy......no surprises in guessing who won that debate!!!
Not a debate. It was a poorly run interview. The guy had no ability to calm his guest. Rather than come off as a devils advocate, he came off as genuinely oppositional, and unfairly so(under the guise of an objective interviewer). Shapiro took the wrong message and got pissed off, if he did so with anyone else at the BBC he would've been correct. I'm not sure how you don't see that?
Armadillarodeo the interviewer doesn’t answer questions in an interview. It’s not a debate. Shapiro doesn’t do interviews often. He treated the interview like a debate from the beginning. He was asked tough questions and failed to answer them. It doesn’t matter what the explanation of a tweet is. No one has time to ask every author the meaning behind every tweet. I like Ben but he was in the wrong mindset for that interview. He made an ass of himself.
I came to check him out also. Never heard of him, so I have to look at his previous behaviors. I don't like that I am impressed slightly with this performance. At least he didn't throw out Islam is peace or try to codify the Islamic population. Because his behavior with Shapiro was predatory with ad hominem and name calling. It was a gotcha interview. Neil mentioned Ben being touted by others as " destroying" those he debates. He purposely goaded him into an emotional mistake. He was dishonest and called pro life barbaric. Insisted false information was true. The Green deal is popular? NO that's why when it went in for the vote no one signed. Because the first one to sign onto this nonsense is dead in politics. Career's totally over! He just spouted outlandish bullshit. It was a hit . And Ben lost his cool and rage walked. He's only 33. 😏 This guy better not interview him again. Ben will have learned and be ready.
Shapiro was beat like a government mule, and literally almost started crying before storming off of the interview in humiliation. Turns out, taking on a real heavyweight is harder than beating up on children at the local college.

I wholeheartedly agree with every word and sentiment of Andrew Neil's statement, and hats off to him for having the balls to say it. This is a perfectly truthful, intelligent, and eloquent response not only to the Paris attacks, but to all terrorist activity.
I work in Paris, the company where I work lost 4 beautiful souls in the Paris attack. It's incredibly unfair and sad .... But support from outside France is truly heart warming. thank you everyone. :)

What a speech. I was telling my work colleague about this today. He is only a young man and was asking me what I thought about ISIS. I was talking about the attack on Paris in autumn 2015 and this Andrew Neil speech came to mind, so I asked him to look it up. It sums it up perfectly for me what anyone fair and reasonable and law abiding thinks about ISIS - for all time.
So this is is the legend?
Andrew Neil is probably the only person in the BBC worth listening to. As much as I detest the BBC, this was a fantastic speech.
