It is interesting to see knife companies making modern versions of slip joint knives. It is fun to see how they make knives without a back springs, work like one that do.☘🥔🔪
We as a international knife loving community really need to try and change these draconian laws. I know it’s a pipe dream, but I would love to see less moronic laws past in the west
Read the comment below yours. The man carries a knife , but "hates" tactical knives lol. There is no such thing as a tactical knife, a shealth can be tactical, so it attaches to mole gear, but what could possibly make a knife tactical? He means a fixed blade knife, and ge feels that way because he doesn't have a job kr life that requires a strong full tang blade. He peels apples or opens mail, people like me use them to open concrete bags, pry wood beams apart, break glass or for demo work.
All great pieces Hoo knives hasn’t gone out of business yet…… Carl is still trying to keep it alive, but he need the edc communities help to do it. The V2 will be going to preorder in the near future 👌
With the UK PK if you put a cable tie in the spider hole so the lock on the cable tie is on the spine of the blade the uk pk will open when taken out of the pocket much like a wave knife. It is something usefull for tasks when simple one handed opening is a must.
The UK PK is a design classic. It's perfect for its intended market. I like folding knives even though I can carry a locking knife where I live. I am totally against tactical knives but allowing a lock on a small folding knife is a safety measure, nothing more.
I kind of agree, but just sometimes I would like to be able to carry a nice looking design that locks but not because of the lock.typical moaning brit.lol😜🤣
Why would be against a "tactical" knife? What do you think makes a knife a tactical knife by the way? A knife is a knife, you have good strong knives and cheap knives that break. A knife is a tool, I carry a 8 inch fixed blade on my hip everyday, I use it Asa pry bar, razor , to open packages and concrete bags, and every man I knkw carries one as well, no one gets stabbed or pulls them if there is an argument. The uk doesn't have a knife issue, it has a criminal issue, the only thing those stupid laws did was take an important tool away from people, criminals don't follow the law! Murder and assault are illegal, Did that stop them? Nope, but now thousands of knife makers and retail sellers are out of work, working men out of a tool, etc. The same argument used in the uk is what is used for gun crintrol in the US. These laws only effect law-abiding citizens , that's it. They dint work, if a criminal can't get one thing they get the next one, soon it will be sports equipment, boots, martail arts classes , and criminals will use a rock or glass, it won't stop them! Make the laws stiffer for criminals so they stop going round and round. Laws only hurt people who care about following them!
Hi Paddy, great selection of slip joints. Have you tried the Manly Wasp? Range of steels up to S90V and nice solid detentes from closed to full open. Have two and the Hoo that I like to carry when I can. Love that Slippy, but never seems to come back in stock. Waiting list with Heinnie must be huge!! ATB Phil
@@blackboots7477 I bought and upgraded a Junzi (pink G10 scales. Titanium pivot, black screws + backspring), then bought a Traditional and finally bought a Tulip but then customised that too (black blade and hardware with Brass scales)... Loving what James over at TA has done so far 😍
I’ve tried but I’ve never been able to understand why anyone would want a slip joint without a decent finger jam feature, I wouldn’t open a parcel with anything less. The Junzi is a lovely knife but the TA logo engraved on the blade really lets it down.
@@paddyspotatopeelers2154 I would have thought non locking blades were much rarer in times gone by. As a kid my only non locking knives were pen knives and Swiss Army 😆
Hi Paddy, at the top end, I personally think the Spyderco PITS, is way ahead of the Hinderer. Have you given one a try? Never got on with the UKPK but I am looking to get a Junzi. Do you find it OK? I'm thinking it might turn out to disappoint, as it looks a bit small.
@@paddyspotatopeelers2154 Thanks for the reply Paddy. It takes all sorts mate. I really wanted to like the Hinderer but it never gets used. For me, the Hinderer feels uncomfortable and harder to open and close than the SPITS. I also get the feeling that the SPITS is stronger, although they are both built like tanks. How does the Junzi compare to the Hinderer in terms of size?
Can anyone give feedback on Hoo knives customer service and delivery times. I've tried emailing RE in store collection, etc and got no answer. As they are a small company I'd be grateful to know what other people's experiences are?
Its totally sad the uk law sucks about knife law mate all the lovely knifes and we can only carry them in the house the way the police are we people it's just a way if we get caught to put a tick in there box and one way to get a stipe
As a knive collector I think we should all stick together. Weather you have one knive as a practical tool or, like me it's a hobby doesn't matter. The next thing the government will be banning all sorts. Strength in numbers I say. BTW great channel Paddy !
@@Countryboy071 You must have a very slow internet connection, I wrote my comment a year ago! BTW don't you see the irony in saying knife collectors should "Stick" together. I don't foresee ever sticking a knife into anybody except in the most desperate self-defence situation.
Hey Paddy, great video! I love my UKPK LC200 full flat. So comfortable with that forward choil and light as a feather to boot. Cheers!

Beautiful cute knives! I think I love the Hoo knive most.
I'm still waiting on Hinderer to be back in stock in November hopefully.
I won't rest until I have one Paddy. 👍🤞

I dont mind a slip, they are fun and cheap since not too complex of a lock, just sad that some places have such laws that u cant use anything else.
The only knife i dont own is the final one, the hinder. you have convinced me.👍
Edit : it was hinderer . Thanks though, I've ordered it
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.let me know 👍☘️

Try Hennie Haynes or Moonraker.
i have seen rescue knives which as it states are for rescue how come some of these are illegal
Do you have a link for the who knives
