Excellent, as always. When I first started using DaVinci Resolve I didn't understand the limitations of Dynamic Zoom very well. Then I tried the Transform technique but got lost in the weeds. I got lost because the explanations I had seen were not complete enough. This video is short, sweet and very complete. Thanks, Daniel.
Right on. Yeah the dynamic zoom is very cool for one specific use case. Just a quick setting for 16 x 9 footage without having to add any key frames. Once you get used to using the transform option in the preview window, I think it’s a better Zoom option all around

I cant get my VO to sound as cinematic as actors...
I’ve had to do that a few times, it’s extremely painstaking. You not only need to match the emotion of the original but you also need to recreate the ambience of the clip. Then on top, you have to sync the wav files which can often mean slight speed changes without incurring pitch distortion. There’s a reason big budget movies spend weeks doing this with trained voice actors working alongside audio engineers

Absolutely! That’s the definition of ‘B-Roll’. Just put that second video in a track above your main footage and make sure that if there is any audio attached to it that it’s either removed or muted.
Daniel, it's always a pleasure watching your tutorials as the visuals and explanations are precise and clear. Another great video. Thanks Out of interest as we are hoping to get the studio licence as soon as or budget allows, do you use the speed editor or other gadget?
I bought my license as a bundle with the speed editor because the price was great. But I’ve been eyeing the BM editing keyboard. The speed editor is designed to work with the cut page and focuses more on multicam footage
This is the reason I purchased the studio version one week into using it. The GPU acceleration absolutely speeds up workflow and it’s not available in the free version. So now your graphics card is actually working in your favor.
At some point, I need to do a video on the differences between the studio version and the free version. The problem is that blackmagic design does a horrible job of making that information available. And all of that changes every time they put a new version out 🤦♂️
Me too, Jason. I didn’t dive into keyframing as much as I could have specifically because I really wanted to focus on the zooming features for this video. (do you know my style, stay on target) That being said, I will make a follow up to this where I talk a lot more about keyframing and start referencing some of the more important features like the ease in, ease out functionality that can really make some of these motions feel much smoother

How to edit and get high quality video but the issue is I recorded video one with 4K 60 (iPhone )and one with 1080p (Samsung) So I have edited and exported but the video gets pixelated and get green patches on the exported video pls help
Yeah, I’m sorry about that. I’ve talked about this in previous videos and I sometimes forget that not everybody has watched my other videos. Once you’ve added a keyframe to any video/image clip or asset in your timeline, you’ll notice in the bottom right corner of that asset, two action icons appear. The one all the way to the right will expand the keyframe panel below that asset, which is the panel, I showed in this video. The one to the left of it actually controls the easing motions and deeper integrated positioning of how those keyframes interact, which I will definitely be covering in an upcoming video. I apologize if I didn’t make that clear enough in this video.

Color depth: Studio version supports 10-bit and 12-bit color formats, which the free version lacks. HDR support: Advanced HDR workflows with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ are only available in the Studio version. Hi Daniel, my current pc is giving me headaches (hp z2 g4 workstation with xeon processor), so I am thinking to buy a new prebuilt davinci resolve pc. Can you please help me choose a good prebuilt pc just for davinci resolve? My budget is under 2000 usd. Thank you!
To be perfectly honest with you, with that kind of budget, I would absolutely look into buying a MacBook Pro. That’s actually what I use when I travel. The new M series of processors are insane. They completely outperform any of the processors Intel used to make for Apple and Resolve is optimized and built natively on Apple architecture so they’re a great fit. The M2’s are a little more affordable at the moment because they introduced the M3, which has only slightly improved performance . You can get your hands on the M2 MacBook Pro, 16 GB with a terabyte SSD for around $1,700 and it’ll run Resolve better than any Windows laptop anywhere near that price point. Plus, you can plug the HDMI output right into your monitor that you probably already have and treat it just like your existing tower system. Check this out--> amzn.to/40boBrh
hi Daniel in Egypt we use a limited GB for internet so i downloaded the clips that i will use in my project with low resolution to make sure that i am not downloaded unnecessary large clips then when i downloaded the necessary clips with high resolution i want to replace the low resolution clips with the high clips can you tell me how to replace the same scene in the clip ?
Make sure the new, higher resolution clip has a different name than the lower resolution one you were using in your project or proxies might not recognize it as a new clip. That being said, it’s this easy-> ruclips.net/user/shorts7CYTHwSfGO0?si=rCzRicXrY4VkT9ip
Hey Daniel I have made a tutorial video (a lot thanks to your help) in 16;9 and would like to use parts of it to turn them to shorts: How do i move zooms fast around the zoomed in vertical screen like you do in your videos?
Pay attention to the Transform option and how to keyframe. In this video I used cars, but it's applicable to any portion of your footage. Learn to zoom in, stay zoomed in and zoom back out.
It’s much easier than it used to be. From the edit page, put your playhead in the timeline on the frame you’d like to create a thumbnail or still from, go up to the file menu in the upper left, scroll down to Export and in the expanded menu to the right, select “current frame as still”. Then you can choose the file type and location where you’d like to save that snapshot
Thanks but you didn't cover ease in/out points. They're VERY important for avoiding the robotic zoom look, and something I personally have quite a bit of trouble controlling reliably - BM's implementation of it seems to be VERY clunky... or maybe I just haven't properly understood it. BTW if you do cover it, perhaps you could use less dynamic footage than the car race in order to see the subtlety of the effect. Cheers and luck to you. 👍
The ease in and ease out aren’t zoom features, they’re actually keyframe features, but you’re absolutely correct. It’s something that does need to be addressed and I’ll make a point of making a different video that covers keyframes more in depth.
I know this game makes a ton of Davinci Videos and I love them, but I am finding a certain way to edit in a video into a still image that has a screen. So I need to put that video in an image that has a computer screen in it and make that image on the screen the video. I cant figure out what it's called or how to do it on Davinci but I know it can
Thanks! I have a few great sponsors but I only tend to work with companies that I already am paying for and/or which make a lot of sense for the rest of the community. I personal don’t like, “Check out this company that has nothing to do with what we’re talking about today” kind of sponsorships
I was playing around with the "Transform Tool" - I zoomed too far away, or something? Because now I am unable to view my footage. It's a black screen. I must have accidently clicked the wrong thing or something, Oh well, this is how I will learn.
Whenever you’re playing around with the transform tools either in the preview window or the upper right inspector, you can always reset everything back to default by clicking the upper right reset option. I showed how to do that several times in this video.
I think the AI dubbing by RUclips that slowly being released will be a big help to a lot of Creators. I don’t have it yet but I look forward to the release

in Egypt we use a limited GB for internet so i downloaded the clips that i will use in my project with low resolution to make sure that i am not downloaded unnecessary large clips then when i downloaded the necessary clips with high resolution i want to replace the low resolution clips with the high clips can you tell me how to replace the same scene in the clip ?
Make sure the new, higher resolution clip has a different name than the lower resolution one you were using in your project or proxies might not recognize it as a new clip.
That being said, it’s this easy-> ruclips.net/user/shorts7CYTHwSfGO0?si=rCzRicXrY4VkT9ip
Hey Daniel
I have made a tutorial video (a lot thanks to your help) in 16;9 and would like to use parts of it to turn them to shorts: How do i move zooms fast around the zoomed in vertical screen like you do in your videos?
I keyframe everything. Exactly like I showed in this video
@@Daniel_Batal Thank you!
I have watched now couple of times but im bit slow with this part.
I will keep trying.
thanks
Pay attention to the Transform option and how to keyframe. In this video I used cars, but it's applicable to any portion of your footage.
Learn to zoom in, stay zoomed in and zoom back out.
Awesome. how can i get a screenshot from my video to make a thumbnail?
It’s much easier than it used to be. From the edit page, put your playhead in the timeline on the frame you’d like to create a thumbnail or still from, go up to the file menu in the upper left, scroll down to Export and in the expanded menu to the right, select “current frame as still”.
Then you can choose the file type and location where you’d like to save that snapshot
@@Daniel_Batal thanks.
@@Daniel_Batal Great. Thanks!
I seen all video update ❤❤❤❤❤
I know this game makes a ton of Davinci Videos and I love them, but I am finding a certain way to edit in a video into a still image that has a screen. So I need to put that video in an image that has a computer screen in it and make that image on the screen the video. I cant figure out what it's called or how to do it on Davinci but I know it can
I think this might help.
I did it with picture frames but the same technique would work-> ruclips.net/user/shorts5E-_p5Ha0JM?si=uio20XUUh30-AqeH
Have you learned to ZOOM in on how Tobe a ROCKSTAR?! 😱😝🤪🤣👍👍🇺🇸
Haha! Not yet!
This is the best way to do a sponsored video.
Thanks!
I have a few great sponsors but I only tend to work with companies that I already am paying for and/or which make a lot of sense for the rest of the community.
I personal don’t like, “Check out this company that has nothing to do with what we’re talking about today” kind of sponsorships
Hi..I'm from Indonesia, I'm very interested in your content.❤
Hey there! I hope it’s helpful!
@@Daniel_Batalyes, you showed us and thank you. I really appreciate all of your efforts!
👌👌👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
X:Y like graphing in Algebra... I'm out.. hehe. Jk

You're welcome!
Can you make a video on how to change voice into chipmunk or devil like laugh it will help me a lot as i am an editor for gaming reaction channel where adding these effects to the commentators voice helps alot to refine their delivery of joke etc. also would appreciate alot if you could maybe drop a video onto how to animate dropping or poping up pngs or graphics on your video look better or any tips that can elevate edits on a gaming video
You can pitch up or down any audio track and you can even use automation to key frame that change--> ruclips.net/user/shortsQwW2Q61w_Yc?si=YmLfokQlwhaQri0f
