I am an old woman living in the Pacific Northwest of the US. My dad was an English teacher by day and a gilnetter by night. We set the net then rocked by the waves drank milky tea and listened to Marine band radio. My brother and I had our own boat spending long days far from shore and bass fishing from a light house at night. I can no longer do these things but watching you recalls those days of rolling swells and the briny smell of the sea. Thank you.
Hello Lisbeth. I deeply appreciate how poetically you said that. My family has a long history of connection with the ocean. There is something spiritual about it.
Wonderful to read that John can do that for you with his Video content. He brings back so many of my own childhood seaside memories too. Especially when travels to the North east side of England. His accent reverts a little and gets stronger the closer he gets to his birth town. Being from that neck of the woods myself both the familiar beaches and the Accent take me home for a while 🙂
We are simply sharing what we love doing mate. If you want to help us, just share the videos with your friends and encourage them to subscribe to the channel. 😊👍🏻🎣

I very much agree with you. There is a glut of things to choose from and watch......but it's either violent or just nasty dirty or mindlessly stupid and totally aggravating. And then I watch the Fish Locker, and I'll even watch it more than once, and I can just relax and calm down & imagine being there and wishing that RUclips had something like smell a vision so I could smell the sea air as well as seeing and hearing it. I get peace of mind

Thank you for actually telling us about what you catch! I love learning all this! I'm just an average lake fisherwoman in the USA but I LOVE watching you fish!
The skipper we used to use out of kimmeridge used to tie bouy and anchor ropes to different places so that the boat would "kite" across the current to make the left / right position adjustable to get over the target / wreck.
Another great day's fishing, those dolphins were a fantastic sight. It takes me back to the 1950s and 60s when I had my boat, wish we'd had all that modern gear back then! Looking forward to the next video.
I’m so thrilled at the use of the realising of a deep water fish, I’m so glad someone as popular as you has shown the technique of releasing deep water fish
@@TheFishLocker yeah I think once the skin swells they are done for, happens a lot with deep water sculpins of all things and they are not much of a target, deep water fish get it the worst from longlines
Hearing the sound of silence, all those seaside sounds at the beginning, reminded me of spending my summer holidays fishing off Brighton Marina as a kid. Being dropped off early on a hot summer day. Bass jumping, birds flying, just made you feel...alive. Thanks John.
Nice video John, and Chris, the Dolphin's were fantastic, thanks for videoing them, another exciting video and a new Personal Best what more could you want.
Once again, you've started my week off with a cracking film... I'm going to have to Google if you can eat huss... Great stuff. Keep them coming. Good luck.

It must have been great watching the dolphin's, I have never caught a bull huss but I did catch my first spur dog last September when on holiday in Cornwall. Enjoyable fishing, thanks for sharing

Hey John love the show, reminds me of my day’s fishing in the Uk, I was from Norwich originally so I fished out it Gt Yarmouth and beach fished the whole Norfolk and Suffolk coast. I now live in New Zealand and the fishing here is off the charts absolutely amazing, I don’t know if you’ve ever been but come and try some day you would love. I knew just before you said hello this was gunner be a brilliant video! With all the action going on behind you then seeing the dolphins at the start was fantastic to see! Then non-stop action the bull huss was a cracking fish glad you got a pb the width of its head. It was also really cool to see you brake out the descender again a great tool to have. Brilliant video mate all the best and tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
Love your channel and in awe of your knowledge of the marine environment. Not a fan of the shark fishing. Had a brother-in-law that chartered from Mississippi gulf coast. All he brought home (he stayed with us) bringing home shark all the time. Got very, very tired of preparing shark. I am a professional chef, but shark has it's limits. I favor the fish that are much better eating.
Another great video John, considering time of year it was nice seeing how many different species are about still , obviously you had to change it up a little to get away from the Huss, but the spur at the end was nice mate. NEAR the end FL (approx 33 mins) what were those 2 stars to your left & about '8 O'clock' up on the horizon?
I think they were likely other boats.
That shark with the spurs, is it related to the rays?
They are all related in some way. They are all elasmobranchs.
That huss was huge when you think the record is only 23lb. Keep a note of the GPS and catch him again next year!
