Thanks for your videos there different and family orientated 😊
Thank you very much for your kind comment. We are happy to hear that you are enjoying the videos. Take care!
I've heard if u go to a gas station in the PH, one doesn't even have to get out of their car, cuz the attendents will pump ur gas for u, check oil level under the hood, AND clean the windows, similar to what full service USED to be in the U.S. back in the day! Good video!
You heard right. Full service here and uniforms. They will also check tire pressure and add air if needed.
@@Marker44They DO have something in the US thats "somewhat" close to this. The companys called TAKE5. They will change your oil while you wait....in your car! Lol.
We have the same in South Africa 🇿🇦
Hi Scott from Quezon City, my home base here when not in Florida. One of the concerns I have about a more full time presence here is filling my time. I have my wife's relatives who I ilke and we have some good times however there are limits as to how much interaction I have due to different life and cultural backgrounds. I find that although they are in some instances more educated that myself however my background in Social, FInancial, and other areas of interest outstrips theirs so the connection with a common experience tends to slow the conversation. What that does is create a vacuum that is not easily filled. Three to six months is my limit before I go back home. Something to ponder as you get ever closer to retiring here. " How and what to FIll/occupy your time here so you won't become bored.
I can see where that can be a possible struggle for anyone relocating to the Philippines full time. I do think about that also but I have to admit there are many days in the US with not much to do.
I’m Filipino born in Olongapo grew up in U.S. Advantage of Not having a car in the Philippines to me, is health reasons. I will take more steps per day than having a personal car. Olongapo has good public transportation. It’s where wife and I are from and this year 2024, we are coming home to Retire.
Thanks for sharing your videos.
Oregon was filling up gas for the motorist. It stops this year.
I hope you can check the so called new Zealand in zambales, quite place for campers...
❤❤❤👍👍👍
Last time i got a tire patch $18 , 4 $ a bargain
Having a vehicle would certainly have it's advantages Scott. Merlyn and I use Grab and busses quite a bit, because that's been the cheaper option, but we both also took our Canadian drivers licenses in and got our Philippine ones a few months back just in case. If we get a vehicle of our own eventually it won't be anything new, but rather several years old. I've seen some decent looking cars and small SUV's on FB Marketplace on those days when I search around a bit. I could see making a run to Saud Beach at Pagudpud by car, ... but it would sure suck in a bus.😄
That's right Tim. If we are going on trips around Luzon I love having a car. I don't know if I want to test the CRV going to Pagudpud but certainly want to visit there once we have something newer.
@@Marker44 It's a place I've sworn I was going to get to every time I've come here, .. but so far no luck. We did take a bus trip to Baguio City a couple of months back though and with the traffic up there I was glad I didn't have a car. There are so many great places to explore here, .. and if your CRV is anything like my brother in laws (I think his is about a 2006) it will probably take you anywhere pretty reliably. Ingat Scott.
Doubt you would find any North American made vehicles in the Philippines all the big 3 are manufactured in China for that area of the world. Vehicles are a bit cheaper due to lower wages, safety & emissions requirements being less in that area of the world. In my opinion after coming to the Philippines for 30+ years a vehicle is a requirement for convenience & comfort to get around.
Yes I wasnt implying that any cars here are built in the US. American car company vehicles are available.
@@Marker44 👍
Lot of rangers in Philippines Ford and chevy both sale car there. Philippines has emission testing like some states
@@Marker44 Ford first car built in Santa Rosa Luna Ford lynx suv open sept 1999 then a Mazda based Ford Ranger that plant close because a lack of supply Ford closed that plant 2012 March 2014 Mitsubishi motors a Philippines corp. bough Ford plant So yes Ford is expanding dealership there you can order Mustang many other Ford brands but Toyota the top sales Philippines Low wages dont make that car any cheaper if it were built in Philippines
