Awesome Wade, love it when you get this excited with a whisky 😃 Ledaig is doing everything right these days and there will be more to come as apparently they are increasing their peated distillations because they have enough aged stock of Tobermory but not so much of Ledaig :) I always find the peat in Ledaig different to those of Islay whiskies but Matt from @whiskyonthewestcoast told me that the peated malt comes from Port Ellen, just like it does to all the other Islay distilleries. Maybe it's the climate of Mull which gives the taste the difference, who knows. Cheers my friend, great video as always!
Fascinating isn't it!? So many different factors can change the spirit immensely. Hard not to fall in love with this one. Appreciate you always sharing your thoughts my brother 🥃
Just picked up a bottle of this in Canada for $83. Looking forward to diving into this dram. Huge fan of Tobermory, Bunna and Deanston so have high hopes for this 10 year old. Great review. I am subbed up too. Cheers.
Had two over the past 8 or 9 years... Bought the third one 2 years ago . almost ready for seal to be cracked. 1st was lovely, second a couple of years later was only so so... had a breather from it . Expecting a nice one this time. And i've got to ask... have you tried the 18 yr. and is it worth the $100 or more on top of this ? AL
A great and inexpensive must buy, which, at least for me, is a good replacement for older ex-bourbon Laphroaigs like the 16 or even 18. A few drops of water and it becomes even more supple, simply fantastic.
Such a wonderful ten minutes with you Wade and this absolutely fantastic whisky. After Ralfy recommendation couple years ago i fell in love in this one and became one of very few always replaced. It was real pleasure hearing and watching you seeing enjoyment on your face. Cheers 👍😁🥂🙋🏻♂️
If you like this one you should try the Ledaig Rioja cask finish, even if you don't like wine cask finishes this one is special, it adds a little fruity spice to it. I can't define what it is but I do like it.🥃
Been looking to try this one, having trouble finding it. If you haven’t had it, Balvenie Week of Peat is ungodly good! 15 minutes later: Just ordered 3 bottles 😎 and your reputation is on the line!🤣

Good choice! I hope you like it as much as I do and thank you for the sub!
Well, what can I say....??..I'll choose this one before any peated core range whisky from Islay....well, maybe not Port Charlotte 10yo 🤔🥂cheers
It's great isn't it!?
Ola mister! Si o ledaig NS é maravilhoso, imagina este 10, aqui no Brasil, ja fiz o pedido, obrigado pela indicação 😊
Prazer meu irmão! Espero que você goste tanto quanto eu!

Yes I really rated the 18 too, it has more Sherry influence and smoke and Sherry for me personally is a match made in heaven

Agreed, it’s just a wonderful whisky isn’t it?!
Have 5 sitting across from me, one of my favorites. Found it early in my whisky search, I taste a leatherly note, which I tend to like.
It’s great stuff in my books 👌

Thank you my friend, it’s an honour to have you here enjoying it with me, such a great whisky and one that I too replace!
I love the Ledaig 10, it's like if Bunnahabhain and Ardbeg had a baby.
Haha I like that, that’s a good way to put it!
I'm a sucker for a Ledaig, especially an indie bottling. Superb stuff
Belter of a whisky! Thanks for checking out the review Vin!
the ledaig 18 is in my top 3 favourite whiskeys for sure nectar of the gods
A stand out for me too! A great whisky 👌🥃

Gracias mi amigo 🙌🥃
👍👍

this is a great whisky but when at the distillery earlier in the year I bought the 18 yo, which is even better and a good price.
The 18 is something special isn’t it
Dude, great review! You got me looking over to the whisky cabinet and wanting to pop my bottle of it! Cheers!
Pop it brother! Thanks for the kind words mate 🥃

Have already recorded the review of it 😉🤫
Hard like drunk stepfather fist!!
Sounds like rap bars!

Haha I stand by my option! Keen to hear what you think!!
@@McIntyresMalts I trust your palate, I’m a peat freak too!
@@McIntyresMalts definitely a good whisky, a little pricey for a 10, but a good addition to my collection.
@@revolvermaster4939 Interesting! What does it go for where you are? In Australia it's the same price as an Ardbeg 10 or a Laphroaig 10.
@@McIntyresMalts it’s $80 (Florida) about $30 more than Laphroaig and $20 more than Ardbeg in Louisiana.
Its my all-time favourite. In fact, it's my desert island bottle
I can definitely think of worse whiskies to have on a desert island! Cheers Wayne 🥃
This and Port Charlotte 10 are my go to peated Whisky's. Glad you enjoy it too. Cheers
Yep, you can't go wrong with either of those!
Based on the prices around me, it appears the word has gotten out on this one.
What does this one go for in your market?
It's not easy to find but it seems to be around $80 US and last year I think I recall seeing it under $60 (maybe even sub $50)
@@BigDan23229 Man sub $50 would be incredible for this!
Bought one yesterday for 48 Euro's here in the Netherlands
@@harryb3122 a good price for a good whisky!
