Was lucky to get two of these in South Africa last week. Entire allocation sold out in a few hours. Amazing whisky!!! Looking forward to the whisky future with Ardnahoe and Ardnamurchan!
I was lucky to get 1 from a friend in the U.K.I think this is a lovey inaugural release from Ardnahoe! For a 5-year peated scotch this is very nice! It's young but I love it! Youthful Islay scotch is often so enjoyable for me! I love a punch!! Lol! This is amazing smoke! Terrific video!! Cheers Wade!! 🙂
Great review! Had the great joy of a tour a few weeks ago and was able to bring a bottle home! Not sure when it will be available in Canada but really looking forward to future releases.
Thanks for the review Wade ! First time I have visited McIntyre Malts but it wont be the last. Still no Ardnahoe down in Argentina but I picked up a Scarabis 10yo in Uruguay last month- hope to get an Arnahoe later in the year in Europe.
Really nice review Wade. This is an expression I will look out for. Also, I love the background music. What is it? You always have great music to support your videos. Slàinte mhath!
Thanks Jim 😊 I usually look for music that I like the vibe of for each video in the RUclips audio library. The song name can be found in the description for the video.
Great review Wade. I got mine last week from the TWL too & very grateful we can get in Aus. Reminds me a lot of the Ledaig 10 & quite unlike the other heavier Islay's. Your initial reaction on the nose ( the little chuckle) was exactly like mine. Great for an inaugural release.
@@McIntyresMalts Lets not forget too that the Ledaig 10 is almost (thereabouts) half the price of the Ardnahoe, but lets see things settle. I didnt think the Ardnahoe was worth its almost AUD$200 price tag (could be a bit of profiteering) , but glad to have it never the less.
Hi Wade, great review (as always), all the enthusiasm and satisfaction for this tasting shine through your video. I have the opportunity to buy a bottle of Ardnahoe for 80 euros, but I am a little hesitant, since it seems a bit too much to me. I'm critical of the prices of these new bottles after being disappointed by the Second Release of Torabhaig Allt Gleann “The Legacy Series”, paid more than 70 euros What do you think, is Ardnahoe worth the price? Cheers Wade!
I tell you what, 80 Euros is better than what I paid for it 😅 That's about $135 AUD which I think would be a fair and reasonable price for it. I paid more than what I would have liked to, but wanted to try it and no one else has brought it into Australia yet so we paid a little more than it will likely end up being once it arrives officially. I can't say for sure that it would be a good value purchase for you, but I'd be comfortable paying 80 Euro (based on how much whisky costs us in Australia) and wasn't disappointed with my purchase. Hope this helps!
Opening a new bottle is always enjoyable. I like they are heavily peated, 40ppm is a big dose. I'm a big Islay fan so I've been anticipating a release.
Keen to try this, though it doesn't seem to have made to NZ so far, and I'm sure will be outside of my price range when it gets here. Annoying that it's so expensive when they released 70,000 bottles...! I guess that's fairly standard though. I thought the way Lagg followed up its first releases with two core range bottles in pretty quick succession was a great move. Hopefully Ardnahoe can keep cranking stuff out and the price settles into the realms of reason.
If it makes you feel any better it hasn’t ’officially’ arrived in Australia either, I’m just lucky to be part of a group that brought in some bottles for members. Hope you get to try it soon Tim!

Have definitely enjoyed this and Ardnamurchan. Great things coming from both of these distilleries right now.

Surprisingly good balance for only 5 years! Excited to see what this is like at 12 years
@@McIntyresMalts Agreed! I look forward to seeing some aged Ardnahoe expressions. Cheers!! 🙂

They are off to a great start aren't they!
Pretty sure Islay's reputation was destroyed by Bowmore's shitty core range, lol.
hahah definitely 😂
Good call
@@jimmyjazz4605 I would say Ardbeg’s recent (since 2013) annual releases destroyed Islay’s reputation.

Hey @malagajohn I am very happy that you are here with me my friend and enjoying what I do!
🥃
A fantastic walk through of the flavours here. I'm sure it will come up here one day. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Jon, hopefully you get to try it!

Thanks for the review Wade! I’m definitely looking forward to picking up a bottle or two once this release hits the US.
Hope you enjoy it Kevin!
Another great review Wade, was a bit late to jump on this and it didn’t last long with TWL Rewards offer so lucked out unfortunately.
Where are you based mate, can send you a sample ☺️
Excellent review Wade.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Thanks for watching!

Yes I agree it made me think of Ledaig 10 too! I said that in the video but ended up editing it out. Great minds 🥃

@@hamo4558 Yeah I am thankful that I am able to try it, but hard to put it about the Ledaig 10 (which I love!) for only $100. Hard to pass that up....

Great review. As i have gotten mor into peated whisky i have really turned away grom islay but i got a sample of this and loved it.
Have you got a favourite peated whisky outside of Islay Scott?
I would say it it would be Ledaig, also like Ardmore, Glasgow, Longrow, Kilkerran, and lighter stuff i love Cu Bocan and Ardnamurchan.
@@scottmathieson2324 Also a great selection!

Nice review sir😊
Thank you Ferdie 🥃
Feels like they made plenty of this to go around, except over here in the US. I'm trying not to take it personally ... (Great review, Wade).
