    For New Christians:
    RUclips Content:
Mike Winger (The GOAT - watch his Jesus in the OT series immediately!)
    Gavin Ortlund
    Chad Bird
Daily Dose of Wisdom (Especially the John Lennox videos)
    Jordan B Cooper
    Frank Turek

    Reading Material:

Precious Remedies Against Satan's Devices - Thomas Brooks (A personal favorite - anything by the Puritans is gold!)
The Pilgrim's Progress (Just a timeless classic)
The Cost of Discipleship - Dietrich Bonhoeffer (Angel Studios is making a movie about him, and it looks amazing!)
    C.S. Lewis (All of it)
In His Steps - Charles Sheldon
The Imitation of Christ - Thomas Kempis
(I haven't read any of Chad Bird's books yet, but I plan to, and expect them to be very good. If you watch his RUclips content you'll immediately understand why. He has a new one coming out in like a week I think)
    (Edit) Wanted to add this
Oh also, for those who don't know, you can get a TON of free books from the internet archive. All of the old Puritan works are on there. Pretty much anything that's older than like the 1920s is public domain and available to download for free.

The Navigator’s Bible Reading Plan breaks the Bible into chunks that really gets you a balance of the Old and New Testament throughout the duration of a year-long plan. It tells you exactly what sections of scripture to read each day, and there are only 25 days per month. My exclusive "mature" list includes Catholic and Orthodox (as well as the church fathers who don't squarely fit into either modern day camp) resources because they happen to have an incredibly wide range of depth for anyone looking to grow in either personal walk or theological knowledge. A mature Christian would not necessarily feel pressured to join any particular camp, unless God calls them that direction. But he/she can more fully appreciate what these more ancient Chtistian traditions have to offer in terms of wisdom, spiritual practice, and Biblical study. Not to say that there aren't great evangelical resources as well.

John, then Genesis, then Proverbs is not a good idea. Starting at John is good but after that you should go back to Matthew and read from there through Revelation, then start reading the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Read at lead 30 minutes a day and pray that God helps you to understand His word before every session. Bouncing around and picking and choosing which books to read will leave a person with misunderstandings. And join a Bible study group, that'll help accelerate your understanding.

Excellent explanation on making the Bible the main thing! I respectfully disagree with you and most other people about people starting in John. John one is one of the most confusing books if you are a new believer. Also to understand the book of John, it is really helpful to learn about the exodus and Deuteronomy 18. A lot of the conversations and teachings in this book are centered around those things.
You will miss some of the things Jesus refers to about faith if you don’t read it.

I was a New Ager and I gave it up. Then all these Church of Jesus Christ people started coming up to me. Their leader was really controlling. Someone told me when you cast out a demon more come along. When you left the Church of Jesus Christ apparently they hassled you and wanted a lot of someones earnings. I knew something was wrong and didnt join them. I am Catholic now and I listen to good evangelical preachers too. I dont feel controlled. By reading the bible you can go direct to God. If a preacher doesn't work or a sect God will still be God. So in that I agree with Ruslan.

We are not required, nor is is a good idea, to formulate the faith from first principles and if you are only reading the Bible that is what you are attempting to do. This is the path that has lead to many heretical groups. Also the belief that everyone got it wrong until we came along is part and parcel of many Protestant churches. So what is the alternative? Catechisms exist for most Christian traditions and are the traditional method of schooling people in the faith. As you are doing your Bible reading they can provide a reference and context for what you are reading. This method has worked well for thousands of years and I would question any church that has moved away from it.

Unsure if Ruslan’ll see this but, though I respect a number of your disagreements with John McArthur, I understand you don’t like some of his positions such as his inconsistency with a member of church ministry being set away because their “family isn’t in order”.
But generally he has solid theology, he teaches a message of truth with a harshness many dislike and is perhaps at times a little much. But he believes in the gospel of Jesus Christ and it’s odd that we as Christians spend any time/effort tearing each other down rather than building each other up.

Read the Bible. Go back to the original language and look at various translations to better understand what’s being said. Look for historical, cultural and religious context of what’s being said. Don’t just read a verse by itself and extrapolate meaning without understanding the whole context. Listen to different points of view on scripture and test it against what the Bible actually says. Many church tenets and doctrines aren’t based on correct translation of scripture and some translations have added text that aren’t found in earlier manuscripts. Seek truth and the Holy Spirit will guide you.
