I don't believe "winning" means wealth, success and prosperity. When MacArthur says we lose, I think he means the world's embrace of sin, evil and rebellion against God, which we can clearly see is getting more grotesque and prominent day by day

Growing up in the 90s/00s my big sister used to listen to some Christian bands including DC Talk, Audio Adrenaline and Switchfoot. Funnily enough, Audio Adrenaline had a song called Get Down ("To win you've got to come in last place/To live your life you've got to lose it/And all the losers get a crown") and Switchfoot had a song called ("Only the losers win/They've got nothing to prove/They'll leave the world with nothing to lose...I've got a contract pending on eternity/If I haven't already given it away/I've got a plan to lose it all").
As an adult I considered those "loser" songs to be about losing in the sense of 'dying to live' and 'dying daily' e.g. in the same way Jesus says "Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit." John 12:24

I think part of the problem with Johnny Mac’s position like a lot of guys like him is these types seem to take delight in lowly worm theology and I’m such a wicked evil person. On top of that this idea that this life is depressing and you will be miserable and need to accept it. Because of guys like this, growing up I believed I couldn’t be joyful or hope for anything good in life because it was either sin, or God wanted me to suffer and be miserable so to speak.
I’m not even sure I agree that we “lose” down here so to speak. As a believer if I die before Christ comes back it’s still a win win. I might not have a lavish lifestyle this side of heaven but I also don’t think I’m “losing” in life. I’m content with what I have and am enjoying my life, so… idk.. not the biggest fan of JM

Thank you for sharing John MacArthur's thoughts on why Christians may face difficulties in this life. While it can be discouraging to experience hardship, it's important to remember that our faith can give us strength and perspective during these times. According to MacArthur, Christians may face trials because of the sin and brokenness in the world around us, which can impact us despite our faith. Additionally, God may allow us to face challenges in order to grow and mature us, shaping us into the people He wants us to be. It's important for us to continue to trust in God's plan for our lives, even when things feel difficult or uncertain. As Christians, we can take comfort in knowing that we have a loving God who is working all things together for our good, even amidst trials and adversity. Let us continue to seek His guidance and trust in His provision, no matter what challenges we may face.

I think its important to know and understand the differing end time views. This way, regardless of personal beliefs, if we see things matching up in another way we will not be confused and can adjust. Otherwise there is massive potential for blind disappointment possibly leading to apostasy and disbelief.

According to bible prophecy, we are 100% in the end time season. We were told what to look out for. We were told what the 7 year tribulation will look like. This is the first time in history where every single prophecy has come to past, or has began. But most importantly, its the first time where it's all happening world wide, and at the same time. Since covid it's been back to back end time prophecy. I've dove very deep into this topic the past two years. What's most Biblical to me is everything setting up for the 7 year tribulation (which we have), a possible revival, the rapture of the church, the 7 year trib, then the 1000 year rein of Jesus. Love your content! I pray God has mercy, favor, and protection over you and your family.

People like Osteen and Copeland do really well financially and from that then think God has blessed them and that it’s Gods will for everyone because it’s happening to them. MacArthurs wealth and success doesn’t disqualify him from preaching the biblical truth that often Christian’s may be the losers of the world in this life because of their faith. And I would like to say this if I may. I understand what Pastor Joel is saying about "cultural wars", but those wars are undergirded by spiritual activities. So it is a spiritual war. Because we are not only dealing with belief systems that are constructed around the human intellect of man and man's human logic and reasoning, but cultural practices also have spiritual influences that back and support the belief systems that are built around cultural wars. It will always take The Most High's wisdom to deal with human issues or challenges and problems that manifest from the fallen nature of humanity. We are designed to move above the human nature because of the fact that it is fallen. Because if we pay attention to how The Messiah moved in His humanity and how He dealt with the humanity of man, He always approached them from the realm of His Spirit. And He brought resolve, answers and solutions to that area from the realm of The Spirit. He dealt with cultural issues from the realm of The Spirit. This is why He was able to give a healthy language to His humanity before others as well as relate to where man was in his or her humanity. Shalom

Also, please look more into postmil bc the majority postmil believers including myself do not believe in the literal 1000 year golden age of the church but similar t Amil is that Christ is reigning now and the 1000 years are symbolic for the divine completion of the church age, the difference with Amil is that the kingdom, through the body which is the church, will spread over the world but it may take thousands of years (as long as it needs to). God is using the means of His body to sanctify the world.

Even the power satan has comes from God, he can't work without the go ahead. The gates of hell will not prevail because we know without Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Father, we are no good unrighteous sinners, only in Jesus do we have our righteousness. The reason why they’ve prosecuted our Lord and WILL prosecute us (or worse, perverse our faith) is because the prince of this world, Satan, rules it on a short leash. Until the end of times, when Satan will be unleashed and cause complete chaos. Jesus is building a church that will be able to withstand the temptations and lies that could corrupt it in those times. It’ll be the end of the world not because everyone will be evangelized living in a Christian utopia, but because it’ll be hell on earth which will be the causation for the rapture.
So yes we loose but we win knowing that the spread of evangelism gets us closer to the second coming of Christ, when everything will become anew. Until then let’s be steadfast in our faith

When I hear JM say we will lose in this world, I kinda wanna go "N'yeah." Well in once sense you may say that. In the same way the world might mean it that is. But in Christ's upside-down world, it IS victory. Christ won the victory on the cross. What looked like loss, was in fact the greatest victory ever! If the church grows while being persecuted then that is victory. When a man is killed for his faith refusing to denounce Jesus, and clings to truth in the face of death, that is victory. When the world presses and pushes and the church doesn't give in then the church wins. When holding fast to Jesus, no matter the cost, is preached as victory, then that is a theology young men can and will get behind. And I speak as an A-Mill guy. To the world it will look like we have lost and will lose, but in the heavenlies and in reality the church wins, in this age and the next one.

Love your commentary on this. My opinion, Mac Arthur and Dearbon are right and wrong in some respects. Dearbon claims Christ must reign through our government. But I recall the Pharisees and zealots making that same interpretation of Isaiah's prophecy that blinded their minds about Jesus as the Messiah. The reign of Christ on earth will be totally done by Christ, not man. Otherwise the Apostles would've encouraged the Chruch to become Zealots like the Jews of that day.
Regarding MacArthur's view on "losing down here", he either miscommunicated his views or is missing the big picture. Not every Believer will be poor all their life. Every believer will go through some form of persecution. Some more than others. Just like we saw in the Churches of the NT. But to suggest that all Believers will be total slobs on earth isn't Biblical either.

In 1980, we only crossed 1947 to 1950 years, which would be considered 1 and 9.4/10 of a day. Human error should be expected in such caliber of tracking because we might not have met a prerequisite quite yet.
Doing such calculations I think can be a slippery slope into either nihilism or perpetual sorrow or increase in panic evangelism, where it stipulates that those who have relinquished themselves over to Christ should be the calm amongst the panicking messes.
    Joel has it in spades.

It only makes sense to say God is 'at war' with other agents if they are acting against His will, but at best the Calvinist can only say they are acting against His 'prescribed will' all the while fulfilling his 'decreed will'. Spiritual warfare is a nonsensical concept on Calvinism.

I think his point about equal time spent on women vs men is not relevant for a youtube channel. I would say if we're discussing the church, it is a relevant discussion. I've not heard his longer form content to address other issues, but I'd assume if he supports Rollo there are a few. I will say Ruslan and John did minimize the mega-church & media's influence on smaller churches. Saying these churches are goofy isn't addressing their influence and impact. What happens today is that the youth are connected to the mega-churches even if they don't attend those churches. All we have to do is look at the music played in church, and you'll see that Elevation & Hillsong have more influence than their denomination or church doctrine. I'd say the mainline churches have accepted modern concepts that aren't aligned with the Bible, such as Feminism and that has had a negative impact.

I cannot help and think about the times the Lord rebuked Peter on multiple occasions. #1 for drawing his sword when he made an attempt to "protect" Jesus, and #2, when Jesus predict his death, that Peter tried to rebuke him. We have many moments during the trial of Jesus when He could've made a divine call to have the angels come and destroy each individual who opposed Him before the cross, yet He doesn't. Rather, Jesus had an angel bring strength to His provision than fight a carnal battle. In all instances, according to scripture, Jesus will never change His response about His will being fought spiritually. Paul says, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal", so in fact there isn't a fight to fight here, except we persevere to the end. We are instructed clearly through Scripture that "we ought to keep our minds on things above and not on the earth" -Col:3:2.Jesus prayed, "Your Kingdom come. Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven" -Luke:11:2. Jesus taught that the believer should be awake, "watching and praying" because His return would be as the thief in the night. Not one stone will be laid upon another, everything will be destroyed, and all those who won't believe who are the sons of perdition will be thrown into the judgement that has always been reserved for them. Lastly, "If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed" -1 Cor:16:22. This verse says a lot about the war that all humanity will lose here on earth, and this includes the believers in Christ whose reward will be eternity with the Father, and the Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ. To all true believers and faithful disciples, watch and pray!

I do believe Dr. McArthur was taken out of context here (slightly) and other people already made those comments. I am impressed with Pastor Joel's response but not the straw man he assumes for JA. I agree Christians should be involved with politics, but I don't think it's going to get better before Christ comes as the OT shows the nation of Israel gradually falling away time and time again. (I don't think the Asbury 'revival" was nothing more than a social media extended worship session.) Sure people got touched and encouraged. I hope people came to the altar and the Son was revealed and received by many. But there really was nothing miraculous about it. (This is coming from someone who does not believe in Cessation.) I lean toward a pre-trib but at the same time I am not fully convinced just because it is still a young belief and around the 1800s there have been popups of different theology, religions (aka cults), and fancies from all over the spectrum. Also titans of the faith like Charles Spurgeon don't believe in a pre-trib. The early fathers were convinced Jesus will return but without the whole doom and gloom just straight to the judgement part. But it shouldn't be any our concerns despite what your stance is on it either, we should just spread the gospel and make disciples and live out our salvation. If a a rapture happens then it happens if not then whatever it doesn't happen. Why do arguments like these divide the church more? How can we call ourselves the church if we are shooting our own wounded by one method calling each other false teachers just because of one thing we don't agree with. The world sees the church as a laughing stock because it hates Jesus why is the church giving them more ammo to mock us and go further away from Jesus? Oh yes.. pride. Pride in our own theology, traditions, denomination, intelligence, but mostly our own fragile egos.

Shalom men of God and many blessings to you both and to your beautiful wives and families (personal/ministries).
I get where the man of God Pastor MacArthur was going with his message. And I also understood what the man of God Pastor Joel was expressing.
But Pastor MacArthur have to understand that things like persecution, revilings, mockeries, and martyrdom uphold the power of Jesus Christ's testimony as the One who conquered sin, darkness, and the enemy satan and his kingdom.
Because He conquered on this level, believers are able to win and conquer and express the enemy's defeat through their persecution. Persecution carries the glory of The Most High. So there is no way that a believer who is being persecuted can identify with a posture that is in a losing position. The cross itself give voice to the conquering nature of Jesus Christ and The Godhead. And it is that same cross we are to bear while moving through this life with The Messiah. We win on this side of life because The Messiah conquered and won.
This conquering nature that we give reflection to, especially in the midst of persecution, is the very nature that bears record of the regeneration process that His gift of redemption is responsible for. Our process alone unveils how we are able to reproduce The Most High's image through our lives. And without the conquering nature of Christ which is also in His gift of redemption, we could not give language to the victory He came into through His sacrifice on the cross. So persecution and martyrdom carry the sound of Jesus Christ's victorious win. And when believers experience persecution for Christ's sake, The Messiah tells us to rejoice, because we are blessed when we go through that. And to be blessed on that level is a validation that Jesus' victory is present and very real within that persecution. The power of His victory is speaking for Him through what we suffer for His name sake. So I hope that the man of God can see it from that perspective. Because this life in The Messiah unveils how His victory is seen through our lives within the two realms we are expressing His life from, which is the earth realm and the spirit realm.
And speaking of expressing His life between two realms. We will always be spirit beings first. And that has everything to do with the fact that we originated from the spirit realm first before giving language to the human nature. The human nature does not have the right to express the natural world without the spiritual make up of man. The human nature has to be subject to our spiritual make up in order to give a divine expression of the humanity we originally were born to identify with.
If we pay attention to the earth and all of creation, all of it is giving language to the life that identifies with Spirit and with the spiritual realm. The earth alone and the beauty that is in it holds revelation of the immortality of The Most High and how mankind was created to give language to this same existence.
The earth was created with an imagery of Heaven. If we take away all of the sin and all of the chaos and destructive behavior patterns of satan and mankind, we will see that the earth was created by The Most High so we could give a pure language to His life from The Spirit. We were always designed to move in this fashion. Our human nature is designed to give expression to divinity.
When The Most High told The Godhead, let Us make man in our image, that is exactly what He meant. We are suppose to express the realm of the Spirit in everything that we do. This is the only way we can give a pure reflection of the life that The Most High and The Godhead identify with. We cannot pick and choose when we are suppose to walk in the realm and life of The Spirit. Even when dealing with people who are bound to dark spirits, we face those experiences from the Spirit and not from our flesh and blood. We were entrusted with that assignment to give language to the original realm we express life from which is the realm of eternity and Heaven. We are suppose to do that in every world and environment we step into. The Messiah established the pattern and blueprint for us to follow. His human nature expressed divinity. This means that He allowed His human nature to be lead and governed by His Spirit. He was able to relate to our fallen nature because of this divine order. This is why He is perfect and His perfection carries a different excellence. We have to read The Word of God for what it is. The patterns and the blueprints in the scriptures are there so we can understand what The Most High expects from us and what He deeply desires for us to experience with Him. We cannot keep robbing ourselves of the life changing experiences we are suppose to be engaging in as well as releasing in the earth to others. We are suppose to let people see what Heaven and The Kingdom of God looks like in the earth through our lives. Because as I have shared in the past, we are sojourners just passing through here. This earth is not our real home. This earth will be destroyed with fire. We are here to fulfill our Father's will in the earth before The Messiah's return. And yes we are suppose to engage in governmental affairs. That is biblical. We see certain offices of The Kingdom of God interacting with earthly governmental structures, such as the office of the prophet and prophetess, and the office of the apostle. God Bless you and thank you for allowing me to share this with you. Shalom
