CJ, I'm one of the Fire Fighters that was there, and the car didn't go up in flames immediately. I would have to say it was a good 45 sec after we got to you the fire started. So we want to know what got it going when we find out what started it. This will help us in the future.
More than likely wiring igniting a fuel source or shorted wiring. Does the car have a kill switch. Can anyone confirm it was cut off after help arrived
@@highpsiguy4085 kill switch (push/pull rod) was damaged in the crash. That was the first thing we try to do. after the fire was put out we disconnected the batteries manually by removing the terminals from both batteries
@code 3 dives was the fuel pump still energized? If the fuel cell was cracked and the fuel pump windings were energized it’s a possibility of that being the source of ignition. As a retired FF/EMT and investigator and a fellow drag racer and had my brother get burned in a race car accident in 94 due to the driveshaft came apart and toke out the fuel line allowing the pump to ignite the fuel because it was still energized because master switch was still on at the time. Hope he figures it out.
Thank y’all for being there as quick as you was and doing what y’all done to get the fire out. I still haven’t located what ignited the fuel. The shut off switch itself is still clear from any metal there was no wiring where the fire was so I feel it had to have started from maybe fuel that had splashed around or just the vapors and then that lit the puddle the fuel cell has a small crack in it and that’s where the fuel was coming from yet nothing in the path that the leaking fuel would have traveled to ignite it. I haven’t gotten really heard up to take parts off of the car yet other than the engine but when I do I’ll definitely be trying to find the starting point of the fire and will let you know. Thank you and your team once again for putting yourselves in harms way to save mine. 👊🏼
@@raggedyannohiosmalltire2329 for something to take that long to ignite my first thought is heat build up from shorted wires. Either something had to get hot enough to ignite it over time. Or a fuel source had to become big enough over time to ignite. Keep us posted Brother. To look at that car and then hear you walked away basically harm free is nothing short of a miracle. The fact you prepped the shoot before that run makes me think a higher power was at work and trying to prepare you for what was to come. Looks like all the Wife's prayers to Raggedy Ann to keep you safe worked. That's a miracle
The engine looks like it survived and that’s great CJ please when you get down to what’s useable and is not let us all know what you need I’m sure we can all help out in some way I know I want raggedy Ann back out its my fav car so please let us know as soon as you know good luck and so glad you are ok boy I wish I was closer to you so I could lend a hand been street racing my Mitch for 25 years so I have parts buddy.
I love that she doesn’t just say hi she wants to know who it is first. 😂. I’m so glad you and Bill add your wives on here. I love all the car stuff but being a girl I like seeing them also.
Wow thats a fair amount of mud/dirt in the cylinders. I didn't figure their would be that much . Good to see U getting started on figuring things out. I probably wouldn't be able to even look at car for a couple weeks. Thanks 4 the video
No lie I'm rebuilding a 302 that's just pulled out today. (85 f 150)Nothing special Found yall through SRC. But stayed because of the 302 lol.Joke. But glad he's ok. And yalls videos do help.
DAM IT BROTHER!!!! IM GLAD your ok. Holy moly. That was bad as no one but you would know. The cage did its job. Your home to your family. I'm not a super religious man but I give God credit where he is due. I'm glad you are ok. No one but car people( and I say people cause women are laying it down now too) can know that feeling. Rides can be replaced. Be blessed brother.
Glad the motor is going to be ok! Damn, that was a hard hit, and glad you're ok! Keep your head up guys, you'll get through this! We have a store just like that down here!
Keep yall in my prayers!! Keep at it cj you'll be back at it in no time. Glad the engine is save able and yall are getting it squared away. Let us know what you need and I am sure all of us can send you something that will help.
Glad you came out ok cars can be replaced people can't. When you race it's not if but when you will have an accident. Had a vega bracket car a few years ago hit a transition and shifted to high about the same time ended up on the roof ground the valve cover and rocker arms on one side. it happens just comes with the territory build it back better like you said upgrades on the cage here and there and I would give serious thought to a fire bottle helped buy a few seconds when the vega went on it's lid
Been watching this car for a while through scr. Sorry to hear about your loss these cars are like children to most of us. I saw you picked up the new car and I'm glad you not naming it 2.0. But it would be cool to have a raggedy Andy.
Restore usually has metal rectangular long is pengular long filing cabinets with with 2 drawers , you can pull the drawers out and mount what's left of the Box and it makes an amazing open face storage out of metal for cheap
Yeah I know he’s hoping to spend minimal money and typically does his own machine work but that thing needs to go to a good machine shop and get everything checked there’s a million small issues that could be missed by eye and cause it to rapid disassemble itself in the new car with It being singing enough to suck that much crap in the motor while flipping
In 2000, I walked away from a bad wreck. Over a short time, I lost some flexability and balance. It was as though I aged 10 years in 6 months. It was a new struggle, but I had some help from a book on reflexology. Something I could do without cost that helped with pain from living and stretching. What I didn't do because I didn't know was realizing I couldn't do some quick stretching because of time constraints. I really needed more time to stretch. To conclude, make a daily stretching regiment and try/use reflexology. Your life is different now, work with it ... and pass this info and your future recognitions along to those who lives change from accidents. And, get a physical therapy balance disk like gofit. Here's how to use it. Stand on it. That's it. Good luck.
That is great brother. We have what is called here The ReStore Warehouse. Similar too Habit in your area. I'm in North Carolina next to Fort Bragg. Great place to shop.
Believe it or not we have a habitat for Manatee in Michigan I'm from a small town and with that being said we have one place is the best I do a little bit of construction work and a lot of people can't afford new stuff so I get used doors from there sometimes they're brand new or just somebody bought them that like how it looked in their house so I'm taking them back they donated them and the old style windows like glaze windows it's the best to find there back where I'm from and a lot of people like that old lead base glass a lot of times those windows have it if they haven't been replaced and it's pretty cool
You might have a few sore spots but being alive is the main thing cars can be replaced but good guys can't I hope that one of these days that there will be a Raggedy Ann II
Glad your Ok. Sucks bout the car. Id like to kno if thats a Cleveland based engine or a big block??? When u get a sec. Im building a 357 Cleveland engine for a sn95 to mo prep with

Glad you are ok. I hàve been watching your career for a couple of years, before you got really popular. Not trying to ride you but I believe some certain safety factors could maybe have saved your car. Get in the habit of pulling the chute. Always. I just noticed while checking the motor after the accident that it full of dirt. Seems like it was running long after the accident. Didn't shut it down before you couldn't stop? I'm just saying. Us fans need you around. Who is to say what started the fire. The car had stopped then the fire started. Be safe. Practice shutdown procedures. Even after the race is run accidents happen..👍
bit of water and love ya mite get it to grow lol im kidding how does mud get that far wow tear down for shore maybe the hot brakes set the vapor on fire ? wot ever it was im glad ya ok thats the main thing thx

Good job on the videos they're getting better and better keep up the good work
It’s progress ….even just a little is something. At least what you’ve found so far looks promising. Hope you get to feeling better soon sir!

Prayers for you all! Cj seems pretty tough! Prayers for healing and a speedy recovery! God bless
Possibly the heat from rear brakes ignited the leaking fuel

Happy you are ok and cleaning up the shop now to i would say you hit the lottery on that one
Holy crap...... dammit man you are lucky to not be hurt worse than you were....
Yeah I’m hoping the new car has a bunch more bars instead of just enough to get by like before
Sacramento CA has 2 habitat stores. Good stuff Great prices 👍
Chicks aren’t allowed to come around here yelling. Watch your tone 😂😂

i am proude to see a ford running that good.
Glad motor ok any way this old man in Tennessee can help old Fairlanes and small block Ford for over 50 years.
Looks like a circle track engine. I glad you're ok. C.J.
As a circle track guy i I’ve never once seen a engine get crap inside of it like that lol
Its really horrible when an iconic car gets destroyed
I have used restore in Cali, Arizona, Washington Texas ect.
Be very careful with the pain medication it's literally the devil
It’s only the devil if you choose that route. Trust me I’ve been on pain meds for 12 years. We all have a choice on how to manage it.
Those are massive clumps of dirt!
Utah has them, they are huge places
You have another body lined up or are you looking?
Is that a ford explorer oil filter adapter?

Cool dog!
Looks like ya had a little Indiana home grown in the cylinders. Hope everything will be okay.
The town i live in on the central coast of california ha a Habitat for Humanity
You REALLY need some shelves crash carts and counter tops..
For those of us who are relatively new to the channel, can you give us the basics of the engine build?
I don't understand how that would even get in your motor through the carburetor it would still run and suck all that through the carburetor down the intake
No kidding I’ve dug packed mud out of the intake after we knocked the carb off a circle track car during a flip and not had crap in the cylinders
Jess, don’t organize it too much. If CJ’s like me he can’t find anything with it organized. Lol
I think I spotted Andy in the background….
What's the back story on those antlers in the wheelbarrow?
Thats a monster buck.
They look like either from decoy or 3d target .. I noticed them too lol
