    This is the best video i have seen for this. Planning keep the ends of the sides open with a finished edge so i can insert a removeable booster around the sides. Planning to cover the mattress with waterproof fabric before inserting into the bottom, which will fasten with snaps or a zipper that way the cover can be washed.

    I have a great grandbaby on the way for whom I’m going to be using your pattern and instructions to make a baby nest. I’m very excited to do this because it’s the cutest and most useful thing I have ever seen. Can you tell me though if these launder well without the filling and batting bunching up? Thank you so much for giving us this wonderful project.

      Imo, if this will be washed frequently (and let's be honest, it probably will be), I'd add some straight line stitching across (or down) the bottom piece to hold the batting or foam in place so it doesn't shift in the washer. I'd wash on gentle and air dry it. I have this pattern but have never personally washed it to see how well my idea works, tho.

      Thank you so much! I tried to simplify it best I could so even beginners can make them instead of paying $75+ for a store bought one!

      @@AlohaSewingCompany exactly. I purchased the pattern. I will be trying it out. Any fabric material will do? I would like to make a matching blanket.

      @@MyeshatheCEO most fabrics will do! I suggest Cotton (that’s what I always use) or any soft material. Make sure to share how it turns out!

    That is so clever.

    Maybe it would be easier to fold and iron that final bottom seam under before you add the batting and stuffing, so you aren't fussing to get it all out of the way later in the process? Just love this clever project and pattern!

      You can iron it inwards if you want. I’ve done it both ways.

    Your video looks seamless and easy but your link states the pattern is no longer available. Do you plan to bring it back?

    Just noticed that the pattern I purchased is shaped differently at the bottom rounded part than what you show in the video. You may want to update your video. As a person who doesn’t know much about sewing, I’m having quite a bit of trouble trying to make my pattern along with this video when the pieces don’t match.

    I don't understand what the measurement is for the seam allowance? it sounded like 3/8 inch but I dont really know what that means? Can anyone help?

    • @AlohaSewingCompany
      @AlohaSewingCompany  7 месяцев назад

      Aloha! Seam allowance is the distance from the edge of the fabric and the sewing line. It does NOT have to be exact for this project. 3/8 or 1 cm
