It's so true many if most things are not worth making. I quilt as a side job and my "free" time is better spent doing that than making things that will just be stained and ruined. I made my babies Christening gown because I wanted it to be special, and a few plushies, but the only other things I've made are quilted sleep sacks to fit my impossibly tall toddler who is autistic and refuses to sleep with a blanket. They cant be bought in his size now otherwise I wouldn't even do that, because it takes about 4 days from fabric cutting to finish to turn one out.
Yes I totally agree with this. I'd much rather use my precious few sewing hours for sewing special things - either special because it's sentitmental or because I can't find what I want to buy. I would love to learn how to quilt one day but it's one of those specific skills that intimidates me
I find that the flannel blankets at stores (at least here) are too small to swaddle but I like to use one to swaddle in the winter so I make swaddle blankets in flannel for my kids by taking 1.5 yards of fabric, evening up the cut and putting a hem on all the sides. It makes a much bigger blanket which works well to properly swaddle and then can transition to a toddler blanket as baby grows. Not quite what you were talking about when you said swaddle blanket but worth mentioning that it is something you can make that you can't really find in stores
My kids have similar flannel blankets that we love too but we use them more as pram blankets when we're going for walks on chilly days. So yes very true, they're a handy blanket for sure.
I agree completely. I live on the east coast of Canada and the flannel blankets sold here make good burp cloths etc but if you a blanket big enough to swaddle a baby you have to make them. I make at least one for everyone we know that has a baby.
I’m a Great Grandmother expecting grand baby # 6 and thought I’d review what to make for baby. I absolutely loved your video’s. You had some very good advice on what to make and what not to make. I enjoyed them very much . You do a very good presentation, keep up the videos.
Thank you so much for all of this information. My son and partner are expecting in January. It's such a long time since I had babies (36-38 years!!) and there are now so many different products on the market and safety measures that I have really enjoyed watching what's good to make and what's not. Saved me a lot of time and effort. Thanks again x
i think burp cloths are fun for going out, sometimes it’s something pretty during baby days…i had twins so i used cloth diapers for their bums and burps However, what helped me was advice from a mom with older twins, sometimes just dressing the babies up is just fun….and a cute blanket or burp cloth, no harm having it. sometimes it’s the less expensive gift people can afford, smile and say thank you.
Congrats on your twins! Yes cloth diapers make excellent burp cloths for sure. And that's very true...sometimes the cute fun stuff is just fun to use just to make us happy and there is certainly nothing wrong with that.
With my kids it's been a few of them just need a bib or little cloth to wipe up a slight spill or they're the kid where you need a full on towel. There have been no in between for us haha!!
I always preferred a burp cloth so that a baby isn't mainly on someone's clothes, especially with a baby who has sensitive skin.Towels are a bit rough unless they are the soft ones made for babies or expensive.
@@bonb213 you can just make burp cloths from flannel which is cheap fabric. My son spit up like a normal baby but my daughter threw up constantly. It was absolute hellll and so scary smh. We even had to give her alimentum formula and had to put some rice cereal in it to weight it down smh. Something in the formula bothered her, her dad and her grandpa and siblings. Milk protein allergy plus acid reflux... hell smh. I couldn’t have enough of them lmfao
@@shortyylu yep same situation here with our chucky baby. But flannel burp cloths just don't cut it - thick, huge cloth nappies are the way to go. Much more absorbent than flannel
As a mum who also has lots of kids I agree with your not bother making list. I don't use most of them either. The only thing I will add is that I'm not a fan of the love to dream swaddle. I was given some and after trialing them decided to stick with traditional swaddling with a blanket. But that's preference. Also the quilt I do actually use a handmade cot quilt but as you said it's slightly larger so it tucks in well for use in the cot once it is turned into a toddler bed. But I find they do make a great playmate until bub is big enough to use a quilt in bed.
Sounds like we have very similar experiences!! The love to dream were great for is but I must say that it's much more satisfying to swaddle them in a blanket. They just look so cute and snug. Thanks for commenting!
Absolutely agree about not making anything that should be regulated for the baby's safety! No matter how careful or crafty I am, I'd much rather have the reassurance of something tested and approved for market especially for sleep like the swaddles, sleeping bags, and cot covers 😮💨 Also for reusable diapers, but that's just because it seems so technical to get all of the supplies for the different layers 😅
Trank you so much for your tips ! Our daughter is pregnant for thé First time and I was already thinking about making different useful things for her ! And will certainly rethink and adjust m’y makings !😊all the best to you and your Family 💕💕💕
I'm so glad this was helpful for you! Congratulations to your daughter and to you too on the upcoming arrival of your grandchild!!! What an exciting time for your family
Pram liners are good for strollers that don't come apart to be washed. Its gotta be muuuch easier to take the liner out of the stroller once its covered in food, poo or vomit etc and throw it into the washing machine than to have to stand outside hosing and scrubbing your stroller to get it clean again. Then also risking mould problems too, especially if you don't have a hot day to dry it. A liner prevents all these issues and saves the strollers seat for longer use or resale value (esp on prams like bugaboo's which resell for like a grand each)
Very true. I usually just take a disinfectant wipe to it when it's looking grubby. Thankfully we've never had vomit or poo on it though because yeah that would be harder to clean!
I couldn't agree more. Bought some burp cloths, for example, and don't think I used it more than once. More so just put it in the diaper bag just in case but face cloths are much more versatile.
@@MyMumMakes Interesting. I read in one of the comments that someone gifted them to a relative and more were requested. I could see that - they ARE really nice and soft. However, as you said in your video, once they're spat up on, they go in the wash. If you have a few, you're always washing them. If you make a lot of them, the amount of fabric you need adds up quickly.
I could not agree more on cot sized quilts. I made them for my babies and only used them for a couple photo ops. I just go straight to making twin size as a post-birth Christmas gift instead. And omg I got so many swaddling blankets too. I used them as burp cloths or as changing table cover in public restrooms.
I agree with the hand made diapers being expensive. I would like to make some for my great grandchildren. So I think if someone else makes them it’s a great item. To make them yourself while being pregnant just wouldn’t be fun. Also I would love a tutorial on your tag cloths that I saw in one of your other videos. I think maybe baby holding it. Minky on one side. These would be great to make ahead of time. I love your videos. I have been making things for great grandchildren. How funny just saw your tutorial listed for the tag cloth/toy. I am a quilter so want to make coordinated items. You are incredible!
Thanks! I think quilters are amazing, that's a very specific skill that I really don't know how to do. Hand made quilts are amazing. This is the video of the taggy toys if you're still looking for it. They're a great project for sure. ruclips.net/video/sPzYhhZdlN8/видео.html
I agree that making frilly baby clothes is probably not worth it, but I prefer sewing clothes to other things so I am taking pregnancy to sew basics for my little one while I don't want to sew maternity clothes. It's worth the fun for me! Haha but do appreciate the insight on not sewing smaller sizes as they will be covered. Thanks for the tips!
Congrats on your pregnancy!!! When are you due? I agree, baby clothes are more fun than maternity clothes! If you're wanting to sew good basics for baby then I'd go for leggings, t-shirts, rompers...things that aren't going to be too fiddly to get them into. But do whatever suits you of course!
@@MyMumMakes That's definitely the plan! Just sewed up a handful of leggings today which is so easy and satisfying! I'm due June 9 so I have a little while to go but am hoping to get as much out of my 2nd trimester energy while I have it! haha
Just found your channel. I love that I found another mom with kids so close in age who shares the same passions I do. Can't wait to watch more on your channel.
For sure. Ever day is a new adventure with kids!! Having kids close in age has been great for us. Elijah and Isabelle being 5 and 3.5 now are really good at playing together and playing board games which is fun to see.
As a mum of seven, I agree with all your choices. I had a cot bumper for the playpen when we visited people and our child was awake. But if they slept in the playpen, the bumper was taken out.
What a cracking young woman...every Moms idea of a mother. I agreed with so much that she spoke about. And I am an "old" Granny from, the UK. I am currently involved with making for African children made homeless in The Gambia. One of the things that are requested are bibs, smaller blankets, obviously clothes and will suggest the idea of the crinkle cloth! I understand that shortly we will be making for Xmas. Thank you Marie from Grannyro.
Wow what an important job you're doing there. That sounds very generous of you. I hope the crinkle taggy toys are a good addition to your Christmas projects list for them. Thanks for commenting, I'm glad you agree with my ideas
Would you be able to send me a photo of some of your projects so I can feature them and the cause you're supporting on my channel? You could send a photo on Instagram, Facebook or email mymum.marie@gmail.com
You are a rock of sense. We have so little spare time in our days so when we get the chance to make something it should be useful and cost effective (financially and in terms of time). Much of what you mentioned I didn't even buy, much less say make.
I'm glad you liked my list! Yes I completely agree we want to be as time efficient as possible and only make what we really need. Thanks for commenting
i am so jealous how they sell cloth nappies there! i live in alaska, usa and they are basically unfindable! i wish our area still appreciated natural daipers
They're not easy to find here either unfortunately. No shops carry them so I buy our cloth nappies online. I agree - would be so much better if they were more accessible.
i was lucky enough that my midwife knew someone who was getting rid of a whole lotta lotta and i jumped on it and now i’m able to double diaper.! number 2 turns 2 in march and. number 3 turns 1 in march so wish me luck we still have a bit of time
you don’t have to make baby clothes because now you have Amazon… when my preemie babies were born i couldn’t find clothes for them, so i made some. i mostly put them in infant jammies and the feet were far from their feet, the long sleeves served as mittens. the choices and options because of amazon are amazing.
I made my niece a swaddle blanket where it was already set folded for my sister to wrap her up and us put her down she loved it. Her boyfriends mom on the hand i think was jealous that i did so but we had our hands full at the time and it made it easier
I found burp clothes useless too. I just used cloth nappies. However, they DO make great oven mits/cloths. I still use my burp cloths/ovenmits & my kidlets are 19 & 15 respectively
Thank you, for saving me from making burp cloths as I was just about to do that item 😱& for introducing me to Tog ratings, never heard of them previously. ☺️
Lots of other people love them but I just would rather not use my pretty fabric on something that's just going to be chucked on. I'm glad the video was helpful for you! And yes the tog rating is so helpful
I’m almost a great-grandmother now but I still remember my son laughing with joy at my surprised reaction when the cold air resulted in the inevitable during diaper-changing! Sweet memories! 🥰
I never really thought about cost for making cloth diapers. I want to get AIO which are like $20 a piece where I can find them. I feel like if you're not trying to make special designs for each one and making 2 or so out of each pattern it would come out even in cost. Or less if you hit up sales. I always hate the patterns on most cloth diapers too.
I'm a grandmother with 3 grown myself, I really like the sleeping bags! (we didn't have those). My daughter got her head stuck behind the crib bumper, she was happy, but what if it was in the night & I didnt catch it right away, yes that was scary to me, I agree don't use those. Your children our lovely❤
The sleeping bags have been so handy for sure! Yikes that would have been scary with the bumper but I'm glad your daughter was ok. We all just do the best we can with the information we know at the time. Thanks for the nice comment about our kids 💕
My next grandchild will arrive in our cold midwinter and I've made newborn size hats/beanies because there just arent ANY newborn size in the shops atm.
Thank god someone mentioned this lol. Burp cloths pftt . I'm nearly 60 and I sew but not making silly things where a hand towel can suffice. Disposable biodegradable nappies now available and I bought many for my grandson. Baby clothes mostly came from thrift stores, some like new. We recycle most things. Good video. Many things not worth making.
We never made or used cloth wipes -- we just cut up old tee shirts into whatever sizes worked. Our daughter calls them snot rags! we used them for our noses and their bums (not the same one) , eliminating the need for disposable tissues as well!
cloth diapers are actually cheaper if you make your own, but you wouldn‘t make the all in ones or all in two but prefolds out of old t-shirts , sheets etc (everything with 100% cotton) and diaper covers out of PUL or wool (i am currently knitting mine because I have so much wool left from other knitting projects and depending on the size you only need one or two skeans of yarn) . Also if you like to use the all in ones or all in twos, make your own boosters out of scraps you have left over (like linnen, cotton, hemp), they can cost up to 11€ per Pop and after a while you desperately need them especially at night. Washcloths, burpcloths etc. are just worth it if you have a serger, otherwise it takes to much time. Babyclothes out of new fabric is just way to wasteful in my opinion. Also you can buy a ton second hand.
Old blankets are fantastic for making cloth menstrual pads and yeah, you can buy them (for like 15$ each and depending on your flow you need like 25 minimum) or you can DIY them yourself, using fabrics you already have and save a ton and be better for the planet :D Old blankets you can also donate to vets and the RSPCA cos they're always screaming for easy to wash but cosy blankets for furbabies
Thank you for the tips, all very valuable. Could you tell me where you got your large and small totes in those beautiful blues and the flags behind you.
I made them actually! The flags I shared in a video making bunting, the large boxes are covers I sewed for IKEA drona boxes and the small boxes are actually empty tissue boxes that just happened to fit perfectly so I used left over fabric to sew covers for the tissue boxes.
6 years after my first baby I am pregnant again. I don't have the old stuff anymore. I have some baby blankets that were mine and then my sons and I will use them for my next baby. I have a few sentimental things in my sons memory box- so I have to restart. Waiting to find out what the lil one is before I buy but green is a safe colour right!
@@MyMumMakes Thanks❤ I am truly very excited! Maybe some pastel shades of greens and yellows.... Very exciting! I just want to get things well organised this time round. There are so many miscarriages in my family that I didn't want to get excited. I ignored it until about the last month. I want to do it right this time!
@@liza-marie89 I can understand it being hard to get excited with the miscarriage risk. Hopefully now you're able to relax and enjoy the pregnancy. I'm the same as you - I like to be really organized too
Very good advice and there are two babies coming that I want to make something for so I’m looking forward to the next video 😊 ps I just realised this is 3yr old vid so I’ve subscribed to watch your other vids 😊
We haven't used any alternatives for our kids. Though ours haven't ever struggled with getting limbs stuck in the cot so I've never bothered looking into another option. Sorry to not be able to help
Also, pants and hats I make in under 10 minutes. Theres lots of videos online. The diapers take a bit more because of the elastic. I just use velcro because you can sew it on pretty quick, but you have to oil a little piece of cloth and oil the needle so it diesnt get gummed up
@@MyMumMakes Walmart has 4 yards for $4 and 2 yards for $2 deal, so I go there and find cloth that's on sale. Then I got some elastic from amazon and velcro from the dollar tree for $2 for 2 packs
@@jocelynnicole5973 wow they're great deals! Especially to get waterproof fabric for that price. Nice one. No Walmart here in Australia but sounds like a great place to get supplies
I have made hundreds of burp clothes n bibs n embroidered the name is baby on them. Everybody says they never have enough of this for burps slips wipe up this n that. I have people call me n order more for the next generation. Working on great grandchildren. Use a burp cloth to cover up white breast feeding. It’s small enough not to make baby feel hot. The use to burp baby. Keeps stains to minimum. Love ❤️ the burp cloths
Personalised things are so special and that sounds lovely. I just preferred to use face washers rather than making my own burp clothes. They're the same size and function and if they get stained and yucky I'm ok with throwing it out rather than having made my own. Burp clothes certainly serve a good purpose I would just prefer not to make them
Hi. I wish I would have looked at this video before I made a bunch of burp cloths. 😕 I wanted to make little things for a friend who is expecting. I hope she likes them. 😄
I know you're all Been There, Done That after 4 babies in 4 years, but new first time moms want the adorable, the impractical and the handmade with love stuff. There's actually no need to be practical for Number One, that's the fun, all-out one. Let's save the dismissal, hand-waving and eye-rolling for Number 2 on down, okay? A little cute, impractical ignorance never killed anyone and frankly, all those handmade things that never got a minute of baby use ... they are still treasured after many years in my house. Besides, most store bought baby stuff is made by a poverty stricken child or woman for a few pennies an hour. That's not saving anything anywhere.
BTW you making your stuff won’t stop the poverty stricken people ( a lot of those people are men and children) sewing. The only way to stop it is boycott ALL big box stores and ONLY buy small business local. Genius.
It's certainly a sad world we live in, isn't it. But every bit towards becoming more sustainable and ethical and educated about such problems is a step forward
Anyone who wants to laugh my brother he’s actually eight years older than me and his first child was a boy. Someone got this for him because they thought it was hysterical and they were one of his male friends who didn’t have any kids. So my brother decided that he was going to use this thing. Mind you my brother 24 at the time. I was about 14 and I went down to visit him because he lived about 1000 miles away for me here in the states. He showed me the most hysterical thing I’ve seen still to this day he really quickly tried to pull back his sons diaper and throw this thing over his son is private so his son wouldn’t pee on him. My nephew got him right in the face. I laughed so hard and I was like why didn’t you just lift the diaper a little let some air and let them P on the diaper because I’ve never thought of that and washed his face while I change my nephews diaper. Needless to say the peepee teepee is absolutely useless send after I change my nephew a couple of times and pee didn’t go anywhere and I showed my brother and his wife how he did it they threw the thing away. If you really wanna get a good laugh though you should buy one and see if someone can not get peed on while trying to use it.
Moms out there if you want to sew your baby little burp cloths, clothes, or blankets do it!! Your kids will thank you later.... Think sentimental value. Does this lady even enjoy sewing? Some people actually really enjoy sewing espesilally for their own baby. Had I learned how to sew before having kids I would have made them all shorts or things. I have already sewn my future grandkids things 😂 😂 it's safely put away. I have five kids so I'm sure at least one will have baby.
Haha I get asked that a lot. I think the bonus is they ARE so young so they're still doing nap time in the middle of the day. Elijah doesn't nap anymore but he does and quiet time independently each day while the girls nap. For me, sewing is part of looking after my mental health so I try to make time for it for myself 💕
PEE PEE TEEPEES: I’m not suggesting that anyone buy these…they are ridiculously expensive. If anyone wants to make them, that’s up to you. However, I have to disagree with you about baby boys NOT peeing very often. I have a son, and 3 grandsons. They all had times when they “let it go”, for months after they were born. These Teepees were not a thing when my son was a baby. I always had old soft rags, as part of my diaper changing kit. I just always put it over him, just in case. There are times when you can’t just put the diaper back over him, when the “fountain” starts. Such as when you’re cleaning his little bottom when he’s poopy.
You're entitled to your opinion but, honestly, it's not really necessary to foist yours on either new mums to be or, indeed, others who were thinking of making any of these items for their offspring's newborn? What a put down? Or am I missing something here?!
You don't have to watch if you don't want my opinion, that's fine. But yes this is my opinion and I'm sharing it to be helpful in case other parents would like to know things I wouldn't bother sewing. I've also made a video of my top 10 things to make for a baby to recommend the best things to sew (in my opinion). But of course, you can decide what's right for your baby by yourself
I don’t have kids and I sew stuff for friends babies. Most of the time I think I’m ok about safety issues (eg I knew that cot bumpers were unsafe), but I would never have thought of the temperature monitoring on a sleeping bag. Along with the video of 10 things to make, I’ve found it helpful. I don’t want to put time and effort into something that is either not used, or worse, unsafe. I’m genuinely curious (please don’t read this as a snarky comment) as to what sort of video you were expecting with this title?
@@nyssac2914 excellent, I'm glad you found it as helpful. And yep that's the point - to show people ideas so they don't waste time sewing unhelpful or unsafe things. Thanks for watching!

Glad to hear you agree with me! It seems from my comments on this video that that was a pretty controversial opinion to have, surprisingly
Yep sounds like we have very similar experiences then! I'm planning in making some pjs soon with some of my extra swaddles

I'm due June 9 so I have a little while to go but am hoping to get as much out of my 2nd trimester energy while I have it! haha

@@MyMumMakes I have a 3 children all are 3 and under! Somedays are a challenge with them being so little but is so worth it and I enjoy every moment.
For sure. Ever day is a new adventure with kids!! Having kids close in age has been great for us. Elijah and Isabelle being 5 and 3.5 now are really good at playing together and playing board games which is fun to see.
I have 3 myself and totally agree with you.
Last one is will be 6 month soon, I will try making 1 yr clothes for him soon.
Thanks for the comment! Making baby clothes is a lot of fun
As a mum of seven, I agree with all your choices. I had a cot bumper for the playpen when we visited people and our child was awake. But if they slept in the playpen, the bumper was taken out.
Glad you agree! Even though maybe some of my opinions may be controversial.
Omgoodness! Burp cloths are my most requested baby item.
Thanks for commenting
i am so jealous how they sell cloth nappies there! i live in alaska, usa and they are basically unfindable! i wish our area still appreciated natural daipers
also, i love baby clothes but i would much rather just add embellishments for special things or family outfits
They're not easy to find here either unfortunately. No shops carry them so I buy our cloth nappies online. I agree - would be so much better if they were more accessible.
Yes I totally agree
i was lucky enough that my midwife knew someone who was getting rid of a whole lotta lotta and i jumped on it and now i’m able to double diaper.! number 2 turns 2 in march and. number 3 turns 1 in march so wish me luck we still have a bit of time
@@MrMonkiepunk oh wow yes you have a while left to have little in nappies then!
you don’t have to make baby clothes because now you have Amazon…
when my preemie babies were born i couldn’t find clothes for them, so i made some.
i mostly put them in infant jammies and the feet were far from their feet, the long sleeves served as mittens.
the choices and options because of amazon are amazing.
So true we have heaps of choice in design, colours and even tiny sizes now. It's so sweet to see them swimming in their clothes though
I made my niece a swaddle blanket where it was already set folded for my sister to wrap her up and us put her down she loved it. Her boyfriends mom on the hand i think was jealous that i did so but we had our hands full at the time and it made it easier
Oh dear sorry to hear she was jealous. Family dynamics seem to get complicated when a new baby is born
I found burp clothes useless too. I just used cloth nappies. However, they DO make great oven mits/cloths. I still use my burp cloths/ovenmits & my kidlets are 19 & 15 respectively
That's a good use for them then!! Still going strong - wow!
Yes I agree though that cloth nappies are much better for burp cloths.
And yes the tog rating is so helpful
they are so easy to make!! and its fun too!
@@macydiy9697 out of all the things I’ve made, burp cloths are the #1 item requested.
@@Jana-TheCraftyGambler really? That's crazy!
I’m almost a great-grandmother now but I still remember my son laughing with joy at my surprised reaction when the cold air resulted in the inevitable during diaper-changing! Sweet memories! 🥰
Hehe that's very sweet 😊
So glad I didn't know half the things, which means I didn't buy this unnecessary stuff. Great video btw, thank you :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Yes that's true if you were happy with just buying one type of PUL instead of different patterns for each one it would be more cost efficient for sure
so speaks an experienced mum. Spot on.
Haha thanks Angela, I'm glad you agree
I've just made one of your taggy toys. Wouldn't have thought of it if I hadn't seen a video from you. It's for my expected grandson.
@@AngelaTopping congrats on expecting your Grandson!! I'm glad to hear you found my taggy toy tutorial helpful

So glad i had kids when you just used blankets.
Life was so much simpler back then.
And they all survived and thrived. 😂
I'm glad you agree!! People either love my opinions or hate them in this one!!
We never made or used cloth wipes -- we just cut up old tee shirts into whatever sizes worked. Our daughter calls them snot rags! we used them for our noses and their bums (not the same one) , eliminating the need for disposable tissues as well!
Good one!! Yes tissues is still a disposable I haven't yet eliminated from our house but I should
cloth diapers are actually cheaper if you make your own, but you wouldn‘t make the all in ones or all in two but prefolds out of old t-shirts , sheets etc (everything with 100% cotton) and diaper covers out of PUL or wool (i am currently knitting mine because I have so much wool left from other knitting projects and depending on the size you only need one or two skeans of yarn) .
Great tips on sewing cloth nappies - thanks for that
Old blankets are fantastic for making cloth menstrual pads and yeah, you can buy them (for like 15$ each and depending on your flow you need like 25 minimum) or you can DIY them yourself, using fabrics you already have and save a ton and be better for the planet :D Old blankets you can also donate to vets and the RSPCA cos they're always screaming for easy to wash but cosy blankets for furbabies
Ohh yes good tips! Yes our dog has a few blankets that had turned a bit scrappy so I can imagine rspca would definitely value blanket donations.
Thank you for the tips, all very valuable. Could you tell me where you got your large and small totes in those beautiful blues and the flags behind you.
I made them actually! The flags I shared in a video making bunting, the large boxes are covers I sewed for IKEA drona boxes and the small boxes are actually empty tissue boxes that just happened to fit perfectly so I used left over fabric to sew covers for the tissue boxes.
i made all my kids clothes from birth till when they started highschool…saved me so much money 🥰
Wow that would have taken such a long time!! Good work
Not me watching this while cutting out the pattern for a burp cloth 😅 but I just have some really cute fabric I want to show off.
You go for it! I'm sure other people love them more than me
I heartily agree about all those items!

Congrats on your new pregnancy!! How exciting. I think green is a great colour for both boys or girls. Yellow is also a nice colour for both.

Question about the crib bumpers, any alternatives?
We haven't used any alternatives for our kids. Though ours haven't ever struggled with getting limbs stuck in the cot so I've never bothered looking into another option. Sorry to not be able to help
I spent maybe $10 to make all the cloth diapers and diaper covers I have made, and I have a lot left over
Also, pants and hats I make in under 10 minutes. Theres lots of videos online. The diapers take a bit more because of the elastic. I just use velcro because you can sew it on pretty quick, but you have to oil a little piece of cloth and oil the needle so it diesnt get gummed up
Wow that's great! I'm surprised you could make cloth nappies so cheaply. What's the secret?
@@MyMumMakes Walmart has 4 yards for $4 and 2 yards for $2 deal, so I go there and find cloth that's on sale. Then I got some elastic from amazon and velcro from the dollar tree for $2 for 2 packs

burp rags are an absolute must have
We use really thick cloth nappies and they're super absorbent 😊

Yep very true. It's much easier to go all out making things for baby when it's your first! Thanks for watching.
She is saying good for her. Don’t be a Karen

Haha oh dear! Yes they really are ridiculous. Your brother certainly learnt the hard way haha
Cloth nappies are great burp cloths
Yes they would be super absorbent for spit up. Good tip!

With 3 children so young...when on earth do you have time to sew???
Haha I get asked that a lot. I think the bonus is they ARE so young so they're still doing nap time in the middle of the day. Elijah doesn't nap anymore but he does and quiet time independently each day while the girls nap.
For me, sewing is part of looking after my mental health so I try to make time for it for myself 💕
The teape is more of a joke. I could change faster than putting that thing on
Definitely!
Yes that's true, sometimes it happens so fast and you just have to dodge that fountain!!!
It is nor blth we enjoy it
