I take care of seniors who sometimes are incontinent, The vinyl inbetween the 2 towels is an excellent opportunity for a seat cover during a ride and also for an adult bib.

I made all of my grandkids blankets When they were younger, WOF by 50 inches using cotton on one side and a fuzzy fabric on the other side. They called them their Nana Snuggle Blanket. They are drug every where and it shows. My 13 year old granddaughter still uses hers. They all take their NSB in the car when taking trips. Makes me so happy to see them so loved.

Such a nice family traditjon and handmade gifts are so special.
For many years, my aunt gifted her daughters, granddaughters, and us nieces flannel nightgowns (bought) for Christmas at her house. We all put them over what we were wearing and took a group picture. Fond memory decades later.

For the winter months, it’s nice to make a blanket with one side flannel and the other in minky. I did a small version to use over the baby in an infant car seat, then a larger (40 x 40) for crib or stroller on those really cold days.

The towel that your sewing is good for adult bibs that for people are in nursing homes or even in your own home. If you’re eating something that you don’t want to splash on your own clothes!! Forgot to tell u my name is Gloria. I love your ideas. Also would love to know the name of your sewing machine? It looks like a Bernina . I made all of our daughter's cloth diapers, plastic pants, many of her clothes, and everything featured in her nursery. We were dollar poor but i had my sewing machine, a stash of fabric, and notions. Then as our circumstances improved i made Kinder Care's baby chest pack/carrier as gifts. They no longer make that pattern so i have guarded mine with my life! Those carriers were well received, and the interior seat is adjustable as baby grows. I always offered a lifetime of repairs and restoration of stitches to return the carrier to newborn size so it could be used for the next babies in the family or passed on. I loved making and gifting those carriers.

my goal (maybe half way there ) is to make 3 baby afghans for each grandchild, blue, pink, and neutral, and I think I have those done (8 grandkids) and I want to make each of them a queen size afghan, for when they are married. I am in my 70's and love crocheting, but I don't know if I can make them, when each gets married. I have arthritis so I could be around but just unable to crochet anymore, so planning ahead. I have sewing projects to add as well, so my grandkids as well as future great grandkids will all have a hand crocheted blanket from me, and large receiving blankets in pink, blue, and neutral as well, even if I am not here. I make burp clothes for them as well, and anything else I will be able to make (sleep sacks, bibs, etc. thinking if I get all that done, maybe baby quilts) My grandkids are from age 5 to 24 years old (sorry if this doesn't make sense, I am on a long road trip and its 3:30 in the morning in the hotel room)

It is a good idea to pre-wash all your fabric before you cut and sew it. It is personal preference as some people do and some don't. But we feel that washing your fabric is the best way to ensure whatever you make won't shrink the first time it is laundered.

I love making baby quilts, blankets and bibs. I use terry cloth fabric for the bibs and they are so absorbent. For the bibs, I fold one end over about 3-4 inches and cut out a half circle for the neck. Then I stitch around the part I cut out and then flip it back over and top of stitch it. I sew about 10” length of sturdy ribbon to each side of the neck part so it can be tied in the back of the neck. People love them because they’re a good size for covering up the clothes and they last forever. I’ve also made them for adults.
