Took finasteride for 3 months 2.5 years ago. Gave me gyno and sexual sides (still have both). I had 0 gyno and was very fit and healthy before hand. Ive also been concerned recently that it may have affected my cognition. Don't risk it. Fix your diet and exercise like crazy, and if that doesn't fix your hair loss, at least you'll get fit and healthy in the process.

The main sexual problem for me is lower libido in general. I've had random crazy spikes, but for the most part it's non existent. I don't even think about sex much anymore and havent busted in weeks, not because of a conscious decision but simply because I've had little desire to. And this is coming from someone who had very high sex drive before hand (Granted, I was just under 19 years old when I took fin. 21 now).
Dutasteride and oral minoxidil for the win, and I've had no side effects from either. If I had avoided these drugs out of fear of side effects, I would still be losing my hair, and for no good reason. The only way to know if there are side effects for you is to try them, and If there is, stop taking them, side effects aren't permanent.
Only thing is you have to take that for the rest of your life because the second you stop all your hair is coming out. Minoxidil is cool but get get a hair transplant being broke in 2023 isn’t an excuse anymore.

He admitted that is a known side effect because minoxidil can suppress lysyl hydroxylase enzyme which is essential for collagen in one’s bones, joints, skin, etc. I have not been able to find treatment because there is a conflict of interest with pharmaceutical companies treating patients with minoxidil related issues. This drug has destroyed my life. 8 months ago I was training for a state record deadlift and now getting out of bed every morning is hard. The first two months I could barely walk.

Try oral minoxidil, I greatly prefer it. If you're going to do something for the rest of your life, taking a 1/2 pill daily is a lot easier than twice a day topical applications.
Well for me its like getting eye surgery for the vast majority it goes fine but for the people that lose their vision forever because of it is absolutely devastating. I personally will not take the risk and would rather go bald earlier.

I've been on Dutasteride for over a year which some claim has even more side effects, but which studies also show is more effective than finasteride. My dermatologist gave me the choice of either one. I'm also on oral minoxidil, and suffer no side effects from either.

I never had any bad side effects in a year. From the get go I took a boron supplement to prevent the conversion of dht to estrogen. First month I went .5 mg, noticed a different feeling orgasm and thinner semen, then as time went on things went back to normal because my body adjusted. No depression because I’m no longer a half bald guy a year later. If anything my sex drive feels like it went up. I had my test checked a month back and at 49 it’s 718 which is real good. I think where some guys have a problem is if they have higher estrogen from the get go, either naturally, or being fat, or inactive then the spike in estrogen from finasteride may push you over the edge. I don’t know how I would have been if I was just an inactive fat guy. I just took every precaution from the getgo. Lost weight, regularly weight train, and avoid estrogen causing food. It’s really nothing to fear from my experience.

Studies show it prevents hairloss in men for lifetimes. It's not 'stopping the inevitable' it's literally just stopping. It is also far less stressful for most men to take a pill every day than to lose your hair in your 20s or 30s. Been on the drug for two years and hair has thickened and remained the same. My only regret was not going on it a year earlier.

I know a guy who ended up with a pacemaker after several years of using topical Minoxidil. Don't take advice from a RUclips short of guy in a white jacket before you research it yourself.
