Great video! My ancestors came to the Americas as French fur traders so I've been working on some french medieval models for DBA to honor that. Vive la France!
Very informative as usual, Nik. Thanks to your videos I'm a convert to Swordpoint (or at least Milites Mundi). Looking forward to the new supplement next year.
Thank you Howard! Milites Mundi is actually swordpoint using single bases and it's becoming very popular from what I heard.. The HYW suppliment is going to be amazing.. Trust me.. 😂
Really interesting video. Great how you focus on more than just "take this, always take that" like some start collecting. Interesting to look at what models, basing etx
Love the presentation my friend! The part on basing is very helpful. One nitpick is that you make it seem the French at the time where a quite hopeless army, when of course they defeated the English quite soundly in the end! So a little more balance might be in order. But otherwise, great job!
Thank you for the comment my friend! Glad you enjoyed the video! Well they actually were hopeless in their organization and command structure that is why they lost all the major pitched battles until they changed everything. They managed to counter the English Longbows by becoming experts in Gunpowder they understood that the large armies fielding where actually a hindrance rather than an advantage and after Joan.. they never fielded armies larger than 9.000 men (Compagnie d'ordonnance) and also they understood after the siege of Orleans that speed was their main weapon not allowing the English to deploy in good defensive position like the battle of Patay thanks to Joan of Arc.. Thank you for watching my friend!
Great subject. Always interesting info. I like the historical info. Especially as I'm painting scifi figures?? Its a strange combination but it works (& as long as I'm actually painting it's a good thing) enjoy your hobby time
Hi my friend! Not really i will tell you why.. First of all the armies i create are for specific battles so i choose the commanders of the specific battle.. but obviously i use the minis for other battles or skirmishes so what i do is i paint other commanders on square bases so they can blend in with other miniatures and then when i want to use them i remove them from the fold and have them commanding units. I have very few commanders in round bases so i can utilize them like that. Hope it helps. Thank you for watching my friend!
French bravery and elan counted for nothing with poor leadership and tactics. 500 years later in the Great War, men were still being expected to advance over open ground in the face of withering firepower. It took oh so long for commanders to come up with better ideas.

Very wonderful video
Thank you Justin!
How do u decide on what nobles u use for commanders? I find my self stressing to who to choose. Do u just pick any lord/King that’s appealing?
