    Glad to see You like these rules Nic 😊
    I think the rule book is absolutely stunning , and as You say the rules tick a lot of boxes
    I like the way you can use the rules as a toolbox for different periods without distorting the actual game play but the most important because I agree with You , is the combat mechanisms with the supports etc
    I look forward to seeing You use these rules for the hundred Years war and the Barons War 😁

      Totally agree with you Dear Ray these rules seem to be a milestone like IMPETUS rules were long time ago. Yes i am of the same opinion combat and support mechanism are brilliant! Thank you for watching and commenting my friend!

    Played my first game a few days ago. Made many mistakes but muddled through. Should have watched your ambush replay first. You make the game seem so simple and smooth. Thanks.
    I really like the rules and how it rewards you for keeping a battle line ala DBA.

      I love the rules too dear Mark! I think they play really well and I am thoroughly enjoying my games. That is why I am going to use them for my campaign starting next year. Thank you for your kind words glad you found the battle fun to watch and easy to understand! Definitely the main reason I like the rules is the requirement for a line of battle and the melee reactions. Merry Christmas my friend!

      Thank you my friend glad you enjoyed the video! I try to provide as much information as I can in order for viewers to make up their own minds if they like the rules or not..So many Flip throughs are just page turning with no information that would have helped one decide.Thank you for watching my friend!

    There’s much to like in these rules, but I find the basic movement mechanism a little clunky. My impression from reading the historical sources is that once a unit was moving it would continue to do so unless it came under fire or was ordered to charge.

    • @sirrathersplendid4825
      @sirrathersplendid4825 Месяц назад +1

      Of course that applies to well trained and experienced units. Untrained troops and militias had great difficulty moving at all on the battlefield. They would regularly fall into disorder and have to be cajoled back into formation - hence the need for an experienced commander.

    • @MedievalWargamer
      @MedievalWargamer  Месяц назад

      I liken the rules as well! Yes you are absolutely correct and i think these types of very accurate movement Rules have been captured only by TACTICA Medieval. In the end you have to sacrifice sometimes Historical accuracy for playability. Thank you for watching my friend!

    • @MedievalWargamer
      @MedievalWargamer  Месяц назад

      @@sirrathersplendid4825 Very True that is why i like MIDGARD mechanics of movement. When you loose stamina or you want to push your troops to move more than the standard movement you need to take a Command Test.

      @sirrathersplendid4825 Месяц назад +1

      @@MedievalWargamer - I’ve not played Midgard myself, but the movement phases I’ve watched on videos have been rather tedious. In fact so tedious I’ve not managed to complete a single vid. I’m a great fan of most other Lardies’ systems and have no problems getting through their vids, which are normally a joy to watch. Perhaps I need to try the game in real life. 🤔

    • @MedievalWargamer
      @MedievalWargamer  Месяц назад

      @@sirrathersplendid4825 For sure Rules are a very subjective matter otherwise Wargaming rules would have been so boring.. you have people who love DBA or DBMM and other who like To ''The Strongest'' or Hail Caesar very different rules..it is a matter of personal taste..as it should be! Thank you for watching and commenting my friend!

    Do units get removed in this game? Of is it like once ranks get into melee they realistically wont ever get out of the same area puahing back and forth

    • @MedievalWargamer
      @MedievalWargamer  Месяц назад +1

      Ohh yes 👍 they are removed as soon as their stamina is reduced to zero..I get your point and totally agree there are many rules that make it very difficult for a unit to break but not in this case. Thank you for watching my friend!
